The place was buzzing, and I was instantly reminded of my days working at Fry's Electronics and Best Buy (shoutout to anyone who's worked there! ). I couldn't help but chuckle at the iconic light blue long-sleeve dress shirts. It's like I stepped into a scene from 40 Year Old Virgin-- ("20 years of pimpage into 1 day") or into the past when I used to wear white long sleeve dress shirts for Fry's The 3D printer section was a standout: watching the printers in action and seeing all the filament options got me hooked. I looped around the store from the entrance until I found myself near the graphics cards and asked an employee where I can find the PC cases in the most polite way possible. The MC employee then said, in the most condescending tone, "Those PC cases? By the front of the store?" while looking at me like I was stupid. The cases were on the complete opposite side of where you walk in and it's view was obstructed by the register lines and other miscellaneous stuff so I am not sure why he felt the need to be a douche about it. This review is for the Knowledge Bar Diagnostic Service. For $50 they will tell you what you already know. My CPU would work intermittently and then restart. I set up an appointment at 4:40 on a Saturday. Why even set up an appointment if when you arrive you still have to wait and they take other customers before you. I understand they are busy and wait times vary and they aren't the best at customer service. My device gets checked in at 5:04, I get a text at 5:32 saying it's an automated message and a technician has begun diagnostics. Mind you, I asked the associate how long it would roughly take as it's quite busy and I don't want to wait around if it's going to take hours. He said 3 to 5 hours. They close at 9 on Saturday so I was fine with picking it up the next day. They don't send any updates. I respond at 6 AM on Sunday to which I get a reply. Based on the receipts, the technician diagnosed the issue at 7:12 PM and sent an advisement at 8:15 PM. I only got that advisement after I responded at 6AM and it was at 6:51AM. That's really weird. I live about 15 minutes away. I could have picked it up the same day but they purposefully wait as long as they can? What if I didn't send out the email at 6AM how long would I have waited to get a response. That's one issue, the main gripe I have is the diagnostic showed "the unit is having trouble recognizing drives and having trouble running our test drive. This looks like an indication to be related to the CPU Motherboard and Ram." The kicker of it all is they wanted me to buy a bundle plus cost of installation which is $299.99. Which would be great if I wanted to upgrade my system, but I just want it working so I can browse the internet as I don't have the time like I did before to play video games. So I asked if the CPU and RAM really needed to be changed out, i.e. is there a problem with just the Mobo. Someone replied from Microcenter stating "the board was the problem" and again stated it's more cost effective to do the bundle than just changing out the mobo and CPU. I asked if it can be verified, i.e. isolated testing of the CPU and RAM, to which they said the technician states the CPU, RAM, and MOBO needs to be replaced and they need an answer to if I am going to buy their bundle. Kind of pushy for just a diagnostic and they probably don't have the time to explain every detail to everyone since they are so busy all the time but whoever was replying (it was 2 different individuals) they weren't on the same page. They weren't going to say it was just a MOBO issue since they really wanted me to buy the bundle. Even saying they don't have the same MOBO, which is fine since it's old but PCpartpicker and your website show compatible MOBO's in stock. Why not just sell me the MOBO to get at least some money from a customer. I picked it up and even after explaining what I wanted they still tried to push bundle saying it's the most cost effective way to go and have their technicians install it when it's my own built PC. In the end they want you to pay $600 to upgrade your items to the latest and greatest even though electronic parts are so expensive. Commission and customer service never go hand in hand. Plus on Sunday, I sign in on the tablet like everyone else and wait my turn. I get a text saying to go to the Knowledge Bar since I'm up next. An older guy comes up to the Knowledge Bar to ask a question about his laptop battery, the salesperson answers him but also tells him to sign up on the tablet and wait like everybody else in the waiting area. Tell me why this guy thinks about it and goes back to the same salesperson and asks 15 minutes worth of questions as I'm right in front of the Knowledge Bar waiting. The salesperson has the gall to not look at me and actually help the guy. Then when magically 4 of them come out at one time another salesperson says "Final Call for [me]" FINAL CALL?!?!?! I WASN'T EVEN CALLED THE FIRST TIME. Do not ever use microcenter if you want to get a good diagnostic of your parts. They say they use hundreds of different ways to diagnose your computer but really they just do whatever is easiest and fastest to get you in and out with their bundles. read more

Well I am back at the nerd center! As the last standing, PC enthusiast focused, retailer, I probably will keep coming back for the rest of my life. Its been a few years since i set foot in this store and i am glad they invest in remodeling unlike the Fry's (remember that). Each time i need a quick, cheap, reliable PC and Micro center will just deliver! i always love refurbished deals that Micro center offers. Sometimes, you walk away with some really awesome deals. and this time, there is no exception. They somehow manage to grab bunch $499 MSRP laptop and sell them for $329 + tax. My drive space was crying for help. I've been rocking a 4TB x 4 setup in a JBOD OWC external bay, which sounds nice until you start juggling large projects and realize your storage is tighter than TSA at LAX or SNA at that. I had a major project on the horizon and knew that maxing out wasn't an option. We don't max out. We plan ahead. So I did what most of us do started my search on Amazon. But let's be real... Amazon's been Amazoning lately. Prices that fluctuate like crypto, shipping estimates that read like vague fortune cookie predictions, and listings that may or may not be real. I've made it a personal practice to start on Amazon, but finish somewhere better, and in this case, that better place was Micro Center. Let me just say this... buying tech in person is a lost art. We've all gotten so cozy online shopping from our couches, forgetting that outside still exists and that humans still know things. We had our reasons, hello 2020, but masks work and so does stepping into community again. I did find this item in stock online Micro Center's online store and I happened to be in Orange County (as I often am) so I figured, why not grab the hard drive from MicroCenter directly? Pulling into the parking lot, it was busy but not chaotic. The store? Buzzing. People geeking out over gear, friends explaining GPUs to their peers, that one dude power-walking with a Raspberry Pi kit like his life depended on it (that last one I made up but I'm sure it's happened hahaha). This place was alive! Suddenly I was transported back to the golden age of tech retail. Think Egghead Software meets Fry's Electronics, but cleaner, better organized, and without the mystery aisles of sadness Fry's had near the end. This is a Tech Costco equivalent. I had completely forgotten how much joy there is in being surrounded by the tech you love, having real conversations with staff who know what they're talking about, and leaving with gear you're genuinely excited about. Yes, I had to wait a bit since the high ticket items are locked up, but that's expected. I got help quickly, the staff gave me a printout like it was 1999 in the best way, and checkout took maybe 10 minutes thanks to multiple open registers. In and out in 30 to 45 minutes. A solid mission accomplished. So here's my commitment... if MicroCenter has it, I'm not buying it from Amazon. I'd rather walk into a space filled with fellow tech heads, get a REAL answer from a REAL human, and support a business that's actually invested in the experience. Micro Center is a powerhouse. For PC builds, Apple gear, peripherals, and basically anything with a USB port, it's hard to beat. And if you're reading this and haven't been? You're missing out. If I may make one bold suggestion: Micro Center, launch a campaign. Let people know you're not just surviving, you're dominating. So many consumers think online is the only way. We only requested to do a regular cleaning on my brother's cpu nothing more and nothing less. But they insisted to do a diagnostic first before they do any services that will cost us 80$ we agreed since its part of their policy. After the diagnostic they advise us that a deep cleaning is needed and it will cost us another 80$. WTF it took only 5 mins for them so the deep cleaning there is no such things that they can do a deep cleaning for 5 min even a regular cleaning cannot do that. When we check the they just clean the visible part but if you look closely to they there are still dust on the unit. They just told us that they cannot reach the other surfaces due to that they dont have a BRUSH FOR FUCK SAKEs you guys sell cleaning materials for pc but your technicians doesn't have it? read more

I wish Yelp gave the ability to give negative stars. Why did I have to explain to their brilliant "blue shirts" the need for a power supply 6 times before it barely registered. Gave up on that employee of the month. Then sought help with my surface pro regarding multiple monitor set up from the "monitor experts" in "white shirts". Waited 20 mins as mindless employees roamed aimlessly and asking for help several times I gave up and walked out. And to add, several people were waiting. Can't imagine they stuck around either. Lost business from employees who just can't read the room and apparently compartmentalized in their "speciality". How useless. I lined up at midnight for the release of Final Fantasy x MTG, I was number 3 in line and we saw online that the quantity was 6. Over the 10 hours, I've bonded with these 6 individuals. The store opens, they say they are taking in 10, separated into individual microcenter agents. I realized that if the agent for the other 4 behind me was too fast, they would get the bundle first. I informed the agent helping me that they are limited, he goes and grabs me the box and shows it to me, "This is what you wanted?" YES!!! I go to the cash register only to see them sell one of the 6 collector boxes to someone behind the top 6. I was sooooo mad, sad, and agitated. I WAITED 10 hours. I was greeted by the sales manager Adam, who is a MTG player as well and understood our pain. He resolved the solution and handled it well! Overall this is why I gave it 5 star review despite the trouble of the workers. Another person I would like to mention is the general manager, he was attentive and knew that I was upon the 6 and will make it right and ensure it too! He even informed everyone in line before they open and made it as easy/seamless as possible even if it didn't work out the way he planned. I give these two that handled this situation a 10/10. Although I don't get the box display, I'm satisfied by getting the same result at the end of the day. read more

As I did not have my ID with me at the time, the employee stated the transaction would be canceled and advised me to return later with my ID to complete the purchase. However, upon checking my credit card account, I discovered that the transaction was not canceled and the charge remained posted. I contacted your customer service line at (714) 566-8500 on December 30, 2025, at 1:10 PM. I was informed that the issue would be reviewed and that I would be contacted within 24 hours. The ticket number provided to me was 7946682. As of today, more than 24 hours have passed and I have not received any resolution. At this time, I am formally requesting that the full amount of $760.67 be refunded to my credit card within seven days. If this matter is not resolved by January 7, 2026, I will proceed with filing a dispute with my credit card company and submitting complaints to the appropriate consumer protection agencies. Great returns no fuss no hassle, online order pickup service, no restocking fees. However, outside of that I would say some employees push you into buying protection plan for everything and kinda try to sell people things they dont really need - well sometimes even bad recommendations especially towards uninformed older people the more expensive variant items compared to other cheaper alternatives they have- Trying to make a sell I guess. Some would also put their referral sticker with a barcode on the item before recommending it to you like you were going to commit to buy it. Then hand it to you so you feel bad if you change your mind last minute. Other than that they have some good deals most of the time. I wish there were more microcenters near me in la county .. this was over an hour drive from home. I would say Cynthia O at the order pickup / returns service was really nice to me and helpful when refunding and exchanging my 3d printer to a different one. A good amount of the electronics, I didn't even know what they were lol I'm outing myself really hard here lol But it seems like it's a one stop shop for any technology needs. I have been going to Microcenter since 2006. I build computers and after discovering Microcenter I haven't looked back. I don't know why there is so much negativity for Microcenter. I never had an issue with them. The only one I can remember is a smart mouth tech who thought he knew more than me when it comes to computer parts. I just laughed it off. It's still a great store for computer hardware and tech. Any kind of customer service center will have issues. Why not go to YouTube University and learn how to work on computers so you just need to go there for parts only. read more

We asked the in store employee if a laptop had a specific feature to preserve the battery life at 80% and they said yes. When going through the settings it did not have it... so we asked if the laptop had in in bios and if we were able to confirm if they had this feature and the employee did not know... we had bought a dell laptop that was supposed to come in 2k ips display but the laptop did not have it..l spoke to Cody and Daniel for a few days to come to a resolution and Cody went above and beyond to get me a great deal with the specs I was looking for. I came here on two separate occasions; first for my partner, then later for me. I'd originally planned to build our new gaming PCs myself, but then I discovered this store's pre-built units were around the same price as the individual components I was shopping for. Our 1st time here was great! We got help right away from a super friendly associate. We'd already singled out a machine online, but he made sure it could actually fulfill all my partner's needs before finalizing the purchase. When he tried to sell us Micro Center's protection plan, we declined, and he gave us a detailed --but relaxed-- explanation why the plan would be a good idea. When we declined again, he didn't try to push us any further. When we returned a few weeks later for my own upgrade, this experience wasn't quite as smooth. It was difficult to find a free associate, and when we did, he couldn't actually help us with the desktops. He flagged down someone else on our behalf and this person was MUCH more aggressive about trying to sell us the protection plan. As someone who once worked in a retail environment where there pressure to sell memberships was VERY high, I get where he was coming from. However, it was kind of embarrassing that I had to decline the protection plan 4 times and say outright, "dude, seriously, even if I wanted a plan, I DO NOT have the money for it" before he would relent. Also, I requested a specific $70 monitor and didn't notice until we'd already left that he'd instead grabbed a $100 monitor from the same brand. This is partially my fault for not checking the receipt in my haste to get home and set everything up. Luckily, I do prefer this monitor to the one I'd intended to purchase, but I *had* been trying very hard to keep costs as low as possible. Still, I'll give this place 5-stars because I think our 1st experience is more the norm for this place. Plus, it's difficult to find brick n' mortar tech stores with such a robust selection ever since Fry's kicked the bucket. read more

This is by far the best computer store I go to. They have all parts to build pcs (gaming or work). They also sell prebuilt ones to save you time. I've built around 5 pcs and I got every part for them from Micro Center. The employees are polite and helpful. They have a "tech" bar where you can come pick up or diagnose your pc. They can build and fix it. Aside from pcs. They sell office and 3D printers, TVs, and gaming consoles. Although Micro Center is a far drive for me, I still make time out of my day to come visit. read more

I've been coming here for the better part of 10 years now. Everytime my experiences get better. Staff is beyond helpful, they are us. Every department seems like it's staffed with people who actually know about each product. Not like other big box stores of guys who just read the item card and move along. I've had a few conversations with different staff and so far none have givin me bad information. Everyone is as professional and interested as it gets. Section workers and managers alike. This weekend when I walked out with my P1S I felt like a dam celebrity from all the workers I passed by congratulating me and telling me how awesome it is I'm buying this printer as I walked to the front. Again, they're us. Nerds and I love it! Product is top notch, again it's run by our own people and the selection is incredible. Everytime they have something in stock I make it a point to buy here. I use to live 10 minutes away, I now live over an hour away and it sucks. But again when possible I come here for PC parts, aim gear and now 3D printers. I still buy filament off Amazon. But printers I always buy from here. That being said, I had an issue with my first P1S I bought from here. No hassle returning it here even after the 14 days. I brought it in on day 16 and the CS on the phone and in store had 0 issue taking it back from me. Even tho I had over 300 hours on the machine already. Same with the staff in the back in the 3D department. Again a simple explanation and they assured me I had a bad machine. After picking up my second one the manager literally had me wait to personally thank me for purchasing from them. Customer service is literally top notch. Prices are always very competitive! In short, if they have anything you need BUY HERE. Support local business. This is a business that deserves your time and money. read more
