Micro center it's the place to go but dealing with the repair depth it's a nightmare. My was there close to 2 month for a minor issue.

My reviews are always brutally honest and let me tell you about how horrible this Microcenter location is. First of all, management really needs to be fired/ replaced because if any of the companies I own was operated with such poor work ethics as this location I would replace the entire staff. Seriously. Products are all over the place as if inventory was not conducted properly the night before...this means items that show "in stock" are nowhere to be found. Second, this location never answers the phone...EVER. I could understand if this location was bursting from it's seams with business but there is no excuse that a large company cannot have a dedicated staff member to answer the phone. Third, the staff is rude. Simple as that. When I arrived and told them I called and let it ring for 14 minutes straight, the lady there said "well you should have went an checked out website, all of our in store items are also online, if it's not online we don't have it in store"....which was completely false, the keyboard that I couldn't locate on their horribly antiquated and ugly UI website was in fact...actually in stock. I suggest that anyone who stumbles upon this to steer clear of this location. There are other electronic places located close by with a 1000% times better service and they actually answer their phones.. read more

I came in to the Micro Center Tustin location instead of shopping online because I was told by an employee that Micro Center would price match. I wanted to browse, so that worked for me. I came in, selected two items. One item they'd match the Amazon price. The other day the manager on duty, Luis, refused to price match, saying that the store would lose money on the item. Loss leaders are standard operating procedure in retail, and I was bringing the store bringing in additional business as I was making multiple purchases. I'll just stick to Newegg or Amazon from now on instead of wasting gas on poor customer service. You either price match or you don't. read more

I needed a powered USB hub for my new external hard drive. I usually buy computer type things online but after looking up the prices I would only end up saving a dollar or two. I figured I'd pay up to 'have it now' and decided to check out Micro Center which I've seen while driving on 55. Went in, found what I wanted, checked the price on my item at one of their computer terminals, paid, and left. No issues. The interior does seem like it could induce depression after prolonged exposure but its not like I work there so I will probably return for similar purchases instead of going to best buy from now on. read more

I've been on the hunt to build a godlike computer and so I decided to take a long stroll to Micro Center. Prior to Micro Center I had bought most of my parts from Fry's Electronics (big mistake). The prices on Micro Center are fair. But I got to say that the staff members are a lot friendlier than the ones at Fry's. Anyways, I was looking for a graphics card but nothing looked intriguing. However, as I walked a couple steps down the video card aisle I saw a glass case filled with high end graphic cards. Graphic cards where I could imagine them yelling at you saying "Ha ha you can't get us you have no money, but we're the best graphic cards out there." So, a rep saw me looking through the glass case, and asked me if I need any help. Well, I was tired of the insult of the graphic cards through my disruptive imaginative brain, and so immediately I asked the rep to get me the GTX 780TI in a heart beat. Anyways, best investment ever. Got me a Samsung SD590 monitor on top of that and a brand new power supply, and I ended up being one happy customer. read more

Update on the "surcharge": I found out that the surcharge is supposedly a "electronic waste recycling fee" required by California for purchasing a monitor between 15" - 35". I'm Ok with that if that's the law. The staff checked with the manager, told me it was for stocking / inventory and that all their products have a surcharge which was incorrect. They need to train their staff a little better. read more

Significantly Lacking: Customer Service Asked to have item price matched on Amazon. $10 cheaper on Amazon. They had to have manager approval. She rejected. I asked for any kind of discount, she once again rejected. How do you expect to retain customers when you are not willing to show any grace in customer service at all? Needs a management overhaul. Do not bring your PC here for repair, ever. This was the worst experience ever. My PC was busted beyond my ability nor anyone else living in my house. We had no choice but to bring it into Micro Center. Big, mistake. First, they told me they wouldn't get to it till next week. A week later I checked online via their site to see if there had been any update. "Part(s) in order phase" What does this even mean and why have I not been contacted if the part is being ordered. Don't they need my permission if they intended to replaced parts at my expense? I imagined this wouldn't take long either, considering their site showed the part in question was in stock, in that store. Nope. All weekend long, no calls from anyone, until I called them demanding an answer. "We've been meaning to speak with you" same load of crap respond when you know you messed up. Wow. So I went ahead and agreed and told them to replace the parts and do what must be done. Unfortunately it cost an unreasonable amount, for what they were actually doing. Again. The service center here is tops. I have been coming to the Tustin store for 10 years and have always been treated well. They are smart and will often look at your problem on the spot. Prices are very reasonable. I buy all my computer gear and supplies here because without Micro Center's support, I would be up a creek without a computer. Fry's is too busy to help. Bad points - 45 minutes in line to turn it in. They say will be 2 or 3 days. 5 days later they call and say they have to order the screen. I was livid as I use my laptop everyday for work. John in Service said he would take the screen off one of their stock computers to replace. Ok, I am happy now. Go in the next day sharply at opening time to pick up, and again have to wait forever. One person helping everyone in line moving at snail speed as usual. This time, though, it's a hilarious technology geek fest of people in line, most of whom are probably borderline schizophrenic conspiracy theorists. After going through a deployment with me as well as being burned out with work for 6 years, my old laptop decided to retire itself and forced me to get a new one. I searched online for a few days looking for the best deal on a good laptop that was fast and efficient and found only one good affordable deal at Microcenter. The only bad thing was that I had to drive from West LA to Tustin to pick it up since they don't deliver. When I got to the store, I was greeted warmly by the staff and helped promptly. The process was quick and painless(except for my bank account) and I was on my way fairly quickly. 5 stars for service and a beautiful, well-organized store. read more

I came here on Black Friday hoping to purchase some parts for a completely new computer. There was an announcement online that doors opened at 8am but I thought nothing of it and decided to show up at 9 am. BOY, DID I MAKE A MISTAKE. By the time I got there, there were probably 200 people in line. If anyone plans on coming back next year, I would recommend getting there at 6am. Nothing I had wanted was available anymore as they were sold out. The deals are extremely good here because CPU and motherboards are sold a lot cheaper than even online retailers. This is because they offer combo discounts where if you buy a cpu and a motherboard, they discount your total by $40. Less than $50 for a 128GB Crucial Solid State Drive... sign me up. Micro Center has excellent deals if you are patient and are looking out for them. I forget what other deals I have been able to buy from them, but I am a fan. Online ordering + in-store pick up is a win for me. It saves shipping costs since the store is on my way home from work. Took my laptop here for service under warranty from Micro Center. Was told it would take 1-3 days. I continually checked the status of my repair online throughout the week. Nothing had changed after 5 days so I called the store and was told my laptop was left "on a tech's work bench". Within 4 hours of my call, I had been contacted by the technician reassigned to my laptop. The "expedited service" they advertise isn't a real thing. When I asked about it, I was told there isn't a "formal" way of putting me at the front of the line. The service manager, Joel, is a joke. My only interaction with him was when I picked up my laptop. The whole interaction was less than 5 seconds. He practically threw a business card at me and told me to call him if I had questions. He never shook my hand or properly introduced himself. Save yourself the experience and go somewhere where you'll be treated better. read more

Went to pick up an i7. Knew I would have to wait being that it was black Friday. Arrived at 9 and waited in line to get in. Talked to a lady asking her if she had any i7s left. She says yes just wait in the line. Its already 1130 and its time to wait again. I get to the front and turns out I wasn't in the right line. The other line was them just to take it to the front.They check and they ran out while I waited in line the wrong line. Not only did I waste gas but also my time. So, I gave this place a 5 star review about a year ago. Would I still rate it 5 stars? Obviously not! Like some of the other patrons have noted, they have marked up their CPU prices by around 10% recently. I drove out to this location on 2 occasions; once for a monitor, and once.............you guessed it, for a new CPU. Now, I live near downtown LA and a pilgrimage to the south bay is as frequent as a full moon. So, a 84mile round trip is something that I rarely go on. Like you all, I checked their website for pricing information specific to this store. I thought it was odd that they did not have the i5-3570k listed under their store and yet it was still on their online catalog. After driving for about an hour, I arrived only to find that the pricing was $20 more than the listed price on their online catalog. How utterly disappointing. So, I didn't want to go back empty handed and picked up a hyper 212 and some air dusters. Not quite the return that I was hoping to haul back home, but it's better than nothing! Can I still give this place 5 stars? No. I don't think it's right for a store to have misleading pricing information to lure in potential customers. Is this act worthy of giving the place 1 star? No. They still have other hardware and items at great prices (monitors, select ssds, etc.) TL:DR = CPU actually $20 more than advertised. Lying about pricing on items is bad mmkay. not worthy of 5 stars anymore for me, but not deserving of a shite rating either because of other deals. read more

You better know exactly what you're getting and somehow know where to find it because asking questions is off-limits here and customer service is nonexistent. I simply do not have the patience to list every single rude remark or instance. I'm not a total dork and I actually value life outside of computers so I came in to get some motherboard bundle thing as a favor for an out of town friend and I would just be pointed in general directions even after explaining I'm buying on behalf of someone else and I don't know the first think about techy stuff or the items I was looking for. Apparently the sale as advertised was a misprint/mistake and there was no way they were going to honor it. Instead of being suggested something else, the guy just walked away. Not a good way to make a sale. Even after I called my buddy and came back inside (which was my bad) moments later, the same guy didn't want to go to the back to get my other bundle because he wanted to make sure I was actually going to buy it (which I did because my friend asked me to). The tall Caucasian guy with glasses at the register was the only remotely friendly person inside the whole store. The pony tail dude just pointed me off and essentially told me to find something myself, and a shorter guy in the Build It Yourself department had a bad attitude and just wanted me (someone who spent $280) out of his hair. The above happened on 3/12/15 at 11:00am and it was a very unpleasant headache of an experience. I do not plan to return. read more
