Micro Center is a retail-store chain that has locations in some states. This particular store is in the East side of Cleveland. It sells computers , PC parts, printers, televisions, cameras, cell phones, and many other home electronics. My husband has fond memories of Micro Center from when we lived in a different state, and where we currently live in Pittsburgh, we have no Micro Center. Therefore, he drove to this store in Cleveland to shop. He purchased an Alienware gaming monitor, a monitor arm, a Seagate hard drive, a mouse, and a screwdriver set. He said that the store had a sale so the prices were reasonable. He has used these products for about two weeks now, and he feels happy with their quality. read more

My laptop suddenly stopped working. The screen was black except for a cursor that I was able to move around. I took it to Micro Center in Mayfield Heights hoping they could at least save the files from the hard drive. I expected that I probably wouldn't be able to save the machine. I was able to walk in and someone helped me right away. He listened to my issues and told me they could get to it the same day. Sure enough, they contacted me later in the day and said it was ready. When I picked it up, there was a backup hard drive with all of my files like I asked and the laptop was working fine as well. The results were better than I expected and the service was fast. If I could put zero stars I would. My $1,100 Acer gaming laptop I bought from them had a broken motherboard after only 1 1/2 years of very gentle use. Took it to them to fix for an additional $80 only for them to tell me it would be almost $3,000 to fix. They offered me nothing else. Will NEVER buy from MicroCenter or Acer again. This is a conflicted review. They did a simple battery swap fine. However, I'm not happy with paying them to find out the battery to a laptop was dead, after I told them the battery was dead. Once they took the laptop, it took 4 days for them to get a battery and replace it. They did send text messages thru the process. The pick up was fairly smooth. I work in a small IT company and we do upgrades, repairs, installs, customization's, etc. We even build "mini-servers" and more. Microcenter is my first choice when it comes to getting parts that I know I can trust and will deliver for my clients. Yeah, Amazon is convenient for a lot of things, though suprisingly enough, sometimes Microcenter has even better prices than amazon. The staff ACTUALLY KNOW their products and HOW TO ACTUALLY ASSIST YOU! They actually know about what they're selling! It's such a relief to be able to talk to someone who can explain the differences between a raspberry pi 2b and 5b, why a M.2 NVMe QLC might sometimes be on par with an M.2 NVMe TLC, though won't deny SLC usually takes the cake. Why a Samsung 990 Pro is better than a Samsung 990 EVO, depending on what you need the hard drive to do and so on. That place is my candy land. If I take my wife with me, she'll constantly complain about how long it's taking me to shop...guess that's a bit of Karma, hahaha. Husbands know what I'm talking about. I visited in January 2023. This review is just for their customer service which was around a 2.5/5. My experience wasn't the best. TECH HEAVEN -- While I didn't browse the store because I was in and out, I noticed all different brands of laptops and computers for sale. MACBOOK AIR REPAIRS -- I recommend taking your MAC straight to Apple. I originally thought it would be more expensive to fix my MAC at an Apple store but it was actually cheaper. I didn't even end up repairing my Apple laptop here because the process wasn't fully explained to me by the MicroCenter representative. I ended up going to the Apple store itself on that same day after doing more thorough research online. I got much friendly service at the Apple store. Here is what happened - my battery needed to be replaced on my 2017 Macbook Air so after a quick google search, I found that MicroCenter is an Apple Authorized Retailer. I had never heard of MicroCenter before but I decided to drive all the way here to Mayfield Heights. Upon arrival, I asked if they could run a quick diagnosis to make sure it was indeed my battery that needed fixing and the representative said he could not do that. He then said that he would have to order a battery from Apple which would take about 4 days to arrive at MicroCenter and then it would take another day for the new battery to be installed unto my Macbook. He said the battery would cost around $150 or $200 and then I would need to pay around $80 or $100 for the service to install the battery. During this whole process, I would have had to leave my laptop with them. I asked if I could just bring my laptop with me once the new battery arrived from Apple and the representative said no. The representative wasn't that friendly and he was somewhat rushing me to make up my mind because he was talking fast. I just finished my conversation with him and left not knowing what to do (frustrating). I wish he would have told me that I could have just gone straight to Apple but of course, I imagine that was a business decision. Anyway, I just took my Macbook to Apple (Crocker Park location), where they ran a diagnostic test for free to make sure that indeed my battery was dieing, then the Apple representative ordered a new battery which was actually already in stock that Saturday evening. I got a phone call and email the next morning, on a Sunday stating that my MAC was ready to pickup. I arrived and picked up my laptop. The battery cost $129 and I was not charged for the new battery to be installed. After taxes, I paid about $150. I waited for awhile (it was about 45 minutes, but I was trying to be nice) but then was productively helped. I bought just what I needed-- but am taking it back tomorrow because it turns out a friend bought me a gift of ... just what I needed. So we thought ... fine. The staff was helpful, just harried. Oh, guess what?? They will not refund the purchase. Seriously. Not only would they not accept the return (with receipt of course!) but they ridiculed my appearance and called the police. They did not tell me that I would need my physical debit card in order to get a refund. I showed up with my receipt and was treated like a criminal. One of the employees actually said "there are too many things to tell a customer you can't expect to be told everything. I was so upset that they called the police and charged me with trespassing. Meanwhile, a customer told me that I am everything that a woman should not be. "Look at you, blue hair and funny pants." And they still have my money. Update. I drove three hours to another location where the return took all of five minutes. Micro center corporate?? You owe me an apology. I am filing charges against the officers who threatened me with cuffs and jail time. That employee gleefully peeking around the pole is the one who cried and covered his face. The atmosphere of this store is dramatically different from the bethel road store. This one features a greeter who smiles and giggles all day at lines like "they must hire for luscious lips as well as sweeeeet demeanors!" This store needs a complete dump and hire. read more

I've only visited this place twice because I live so far away. I visited once to check out computer monitors and a few days later to buy my monitor from Microcenter. This review is of my experience. FYI, I'm not a computer nerd and know very little about computers but if there is a place I would want to go to to buy anything related to a computer this would be the place for the following reasons. It's seems like they literally have anything you might need, literally anything. If you are looking for a computer monitor, like I was, or a laptop you can view them on display and use them to see how they perform. I was only able to open up a web browser on the monitor which was enough. Being able to view the monitor on display helped me out so much in making my decision on which monitor to purchase. There are plenty of staff to help with your needs. When I went on Saturday it was extremely busy and I did have to wait a while to get help but that's expected--there were a ton of people there. The staff are extremely knowledgeable of what they are selling. I overheard one sales person talking about monitors and gaming and it d sounds like he knew his subject and the products very well. I found the deals and prices to be excellent. My monitor was $50 cheaper than Best Buy. They had a lot of deals going on. My one negative comment is the price of their product protection. It's way more than Best Buy, like double. What I paid for two years of protection at Microcenter I could have gotten four years of protection at Best Buy. The check out process is run decently and orderly. They had extra staff stationed at areas so customers could be directed where to go and when. They also have some system for double checking what you purchase so you go out the store with the correct item. Covid protocols are excellent. When you enter you are greeted and shown where you can purell your hands. The isles are marked so traffics only goes in one direction. The check out lines are marked so customers remember to stay six feet apart. read more

Tried ordering a 10 pack of MicroCenter 64 GB Flash Drives on Amazon ... sold by MicroCenter and shipped by Amazon. 1st attempt: "Undeliverable" ... cancelled ... never received my $43.19 refund. I needed the Flash Drives so I tried ordering another 10 pack of MicroCenter 64 GB Flash Drives on Amazon ... sold by MicroCenter and shipped by Amazon. 2nd attempt: first Amazon says probably lost and then cancelled. Once again never received my $43.19 refund. The 3rd attempt I finally got my Flash Drives but delivered in the original packing ... no padding, no protection. Amazon customer service takes no responsibility and relays my refund requests to MicroCenter ... MicroCenter in turn told me to contact Amazon. I reached out to MicroCenter on Facebook ... that was worthless. MicroCenter owes me $86.38. I tried calling the Mayfield Hts store ... can you believe it? No phone number!!! So I also sent in a BBB complaint they can deal with. May have to do chargebacks. And to think we almost bought an 86" TV from them! 6-6-24 update ... I was on Amazon and tried to resolve the refund. The Amazon message was sent to Micro-center who told me to contact Amazon. I registered a BBB complaint for the 2 orders. Micro-center claims "we have been able to partner with Amazon in order to process both your refunds" Not from what I could see. You took credit for my efforts. For one your team claimed they processed a case though Amazon. But Amazon never contacted nor updated the status of my refund. The first refund was as a result of me finally getting a valid phone number through to Amazon customer service where the representative tried to issue 2 refunds. I only got one refund. I tried again calling and that 2nd representative was able to issue the 2nd refund. I asked her if she knew about this case that Amazon opened - she knew nothing about it. Did Micro-center actually get me the refunds ... not at all. It was as a result of me finding the correct phone number for Amazon customer service and resolving the refunds myself. Good grief quit taking credit for the customer's own efforts ... I saw no results from your "Amazon team"! read more

Micro Center is a bit of a throwback to an earlier time- you feel kind of like you entered the late 1980's or early 1990's with a store full of mainline and obscure computer parts, modern consumer electronics, and roving salespeople in ties. Their prices are pretty reasonable overall and they have a lot of great sales. If you are the type of person that has ever needed a random computer that day, Micro Center is a life saver! read more

I was excited to buy a new iPad Pro, but the salesman was so condescending and made the experience terrible. and it wasn't just me because the next day I brought my sister in and she couldn't believe the way he treated us. If you're going to be a salesman, be professional, he could've upgraded me to an Apple Pencil also at the time but didn't. I was hoping the next time I went into that Apple store part it wouldn't be there. Stopped in for a quick peek at their laptops last Friday and found just what mi lady was looking for! After a disappointing trip to Best Buy, I talked her into trying out Micro Center and we're both glad we went. A rep saw us looking over the laptops pretty quickly because we knew what we wanted and he was very helpful. We felt no pressure from him which was nice. The laptop was very well priced and even beat out Amazon... : -O The rep recommended the accidental damage protection, which was an up-sell, but we agreed that it's more likely to be used on a 2-in-1 because of the way the laptop folds into a tablet the hinges will get tested thoroughly. He went further to explain the details of the warranty and it became even more appealing. Sold, my dude. After that he pulled one from stock, transitioned us up front to check out, and gave us his information should we have any more questions. The guy at the register was amazing and we even found deals on their nice USB drives kept conveniently at the register. Very nice prices. Overall we were very satisfied with the experience and will definitely be going back for any puter stuff we need in the future. read more

I love this place. I've had computers fixed here with great results. I have also purchased computers here for about five years. They also have flash drives for sale too some times sooo cheap. I wanted a new laptop but the one I wanted didn't have enough RAM and there were some other upgrades I ended up wanting. This is the best electronics store there is. Period. No other brick and mortar retailers come anywhere close to the service and selection that Micro Center offers. This is my favorite store. The employees actually know about the products and are probably more geeky than you. If you want the same level of service offered as back in 1980, you'll get it here. My wife tried to sign up as a new customer to get the free 240gb SSD and the system told her her phone number couldn't be registered. She opened a chat with customer support and they said they couldn't send texts to Cricket Wireless (despite it being an AT&T MVNO) and further refused to email her the coupon, saying it was only available to be sent via text. Basically, these snobs penalize you for saving money on your phone bill. Personally, I spend thousands a year at Micro Center, but I will be taking my business elsewhere (probably online) going forward. I will not do business with a company that penalizes me or my family for being frugal. Finally, the fact that you can no longer call a store and speak with someone about open box or to check exact stock numbers is the last straw. Micro Center has lost my business. read more

Incredible staff. So, I know virtually nothing about computers. I'm in my early 20's and have never been a gamer (but have always wanted to be). I also got a new job in which 3/4 of my work is from home. I decided one day that I was going to get a PC because my laptop on the dining room table wasn't cutting it anymore.... I also really wanted to play games. After talking to friends, they reccomended I go here. My partner and I ventured in one afternoon wiithout high expectations. I originally wanted to build a PC but my price range made that difficult so the guy in the back picked out parts that would make my PC do what I needed, printed the list out and had me visit the prebuilt section with the list of parts. We walked over there and this is when we met Gavon. He was awesome! Super knowledgeable, didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing PC's and didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need. He was super personable as well. It was like catching up with a friend. I felt super at ease and like the staff at Microcenter really wanted me to have to best PC experience. With all that being said, I LOVE my PC. I sit down to do some work or game and I get so happy looking at my setup. It was a great experience, everyone was super kind and helpful. I had an 1 hour long appointment scheduled at this Micro Center Repair facility to have an Apple approved tech diagnose and fix (so I thought) my Macbook Pro. The 5 minute diagnosis was a swollen battery. Someone may be able to look at it in a week and a half. There are 75 customers ahead of you! And the cost would be almost $400. Since I drove 11/2 hours to this "service appointment" I decided to see if there was an Apple store around - indeed it was a 15 minute drive away in Eton. Within 5 minutes of walking into the store a tech was diagnosing the problem and offered to send the computer for repair and return to my home in 3-5 business days at a $200 charge. What a rip off this Micro Center repair facility is - please do not take your Apple products there - go to the Apple Eton Store! read more

This is a computer supermarket where you will find everything you need for your computer and then some. It is great for the hobbyiest who needs individual computer parts or hard-to-find adapters. Unfortunately, this place can also be a zoo with some of the worst customer service you will find. Their 18Minute-Online-pickup is a joke. On one occasion, they could not find the held items. On another, I stood 1st in line and waited and waited while cashiers were just standing there with no customers. The manager was just standing there ignoring me and doing paperwork. I finally left and ordered the same items on Amazon for about the same price. Often times store employees are unavailable when you need to find out where they stock things--did I say this was a supermarket? My recommendation is to use Microcenter only if absolutely needed and you can't wait. read more
