I used to love Micro Center, both for shopping and for service but I doubt I will ever shop there again. They are listed as having a Genius Bar but after 2 attempts to get help with my iPhone and spending over 2 hours in the process, I think that Apple should remove them from their Genius Bar database. The service desk staff are poorly trained and the procedure for actually getting in front of an Apple expert is random. No one informed me that I needed to turn off security settings before leaving my home's secure wifi so on my second visit they wouldn't touch my phone for an hour until it had reset. There is no Genius Bar signage and making an appointment for that 'Genius Bar' didn't help me be seen any sooner than if I had walked into the store and logged into the system to be seen at the Customer Service desk. If you need help with an Apple product, stick with an Apple Store! read more

Consumer beware!!! 1/18/2024 tried to get my Macbook Pro (2019) repaired. The Micro Center stated they had one guy that worked on Apple products. I got a call telling me my computers OS was corrupt and they could not do anything except send it out to reclaim my data starting at $2500.00!!! Not accepting this I went to the Genus Bar at Apple and within 10 mins the Apple tech removed three basic programs off my start bar and the system booted up in safe mode, we then removed a program that was using way too much memory and the system booted up normal and not one lost file. I would caution anyone who has an Apple product to get a second opinion before forking over 2500 + to the Micro Center. On a good note, Alyssa in sales was immensely helpful with research on a new system, not that I need it now! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Shop for new products but do not trust the repairability of Apple products. read more

It is March 17 and Micro Center has had my laptop in their shop since Feb. 6, when I paid the $40 diagnostic fee. Overall, the burden of being updated was on me. . Each time that they have responded, they have not been able to meet the timelines communicated. Their diagnosis is that I need a motherboard and that it should take 1-3 days to get it delivered. They have not been proactive in keeping me posted. There is no sense of urgency and I get every excuse in the book as to why it has taken so long. To date there has been no effort to help solve or make it right. I need my laptop to run my business. read more

I use a Maingear gaming chair as my office chair.. One of the bolts broke off after 3 years of heavy (I'm 280 Lb) use. I called the main customer support number, told them of my issue and was told to take it back to the store as is. Expecting a bit of a hassle (who takes back a 3 year old chair?), I couldn't believe it when i was in and out within 30 minutes with a brand new replacement chair. Kyrra (Denver store) was a real gem to work with. Having been a software engineer, i appreciate the knowledge and sales support that each and every associate has. I've taken my computer in more than once with issues and had someone look at it, diagnose the issue and install whatever was necessary to fix the problem. Someone was allowed to cut in line in front of people who had been waiting in the cold for a GPU for over 10 hours. The manager sided with the guy who cut in line. Additionally if you wait in line and manage to get a part that turns out to be bad, Micro Center will do absolutely nothing for you to help you get a replacement. You will just have to return it for a refund and wait in line for 15 hours again. I also had a terrible experience with their service center, where they made a price guarantee that turned out to be a lie, then billed me a bench fee even though they had not resolved anything, had not looked at what I asked them to look at, and had not provided any service whatsoever, and wanted $400 when Apple (APPLE!!!) wanted only $80 to fix it. read more

Microcenter...make me change my mind please. Super frustrated with attempting to get simple help. I purchased a NAS 4-bay enclosure and not sure I was provided the right info. I told sales guy I need to run the drives independently. I think he sold me a RAID enclosure. Now I've spent three days, multiple phone calls (unanswered) and attempting to use the online community where I was pushed to. After multiple messages from someone named Ian (who I think is just another unknowledgeable MicroCenter rep...or a bot???) he responds "I'm not too well versed on this myself personally, perhaps another member here will have some insight for you." WHAT???? Then why did you pretend to help me in the first place??? I'll likely be returning this enclosure and buying one from NewEgg or some other online venue. 1 star because no solution for a one year old Lenovo Thinkpad P50 repair, had to come take the computer back after they had it for 3 weeks. After 2 weeks, the $40 diagnosis was partly done and a part was ordered to test the problem. That took a few business days but they ended up ordering the wrong part. New part was ordered, by then my tech had gone on vacation. This was now the third week that there was no solution, no tech and no correct parts for my laptop. I went to pick it up. It was taken a part so I have to come back for it later tonight. The manager was super helpful and understanding and even refunded my fee for diagnosis. No solution, not likely to trust this business for laptop repair even though they are a "certified Lenovo" repair store. The staff was fast and useful, very responsive and apologetic though. read more

I used to a be a really Big fan of Microcenter. This was the place I would recommend to friends and family. I even created a business account for my company that allows me to spend 20 to 30k yearly. I would always choose Microcenter due to the customer service, knowledge, stock, price and warranties. Now I have to find another store unfortunately. Here is some context. I dropped my computer off mid September to be serviced. The Corp office told me it would 2 days to run diagnostics. I thought great, I can take a small break from work and MBA program. Got to Microcenter and the service center said it would take 2 weeks. I'm like wow, what am I supposed to do. They recommended buying a computer and then returning it in two weeks. I followed the manager directions and came back in two weeks, still no word. I waited a couple weeks to little over a month and I decided to call to see what's going on. They told me in a condescending matter that it hasn't been looked at and the person working on is busy and they will have them call me back. Still no call 2 weeks later. That's not what made me mad though. What bothered me was the associates nonchalant attitude and then saying I could always come pick it up. I replied, why would I want to pick up my computer that hasn't been looked at or fixed. They replied I'm just making recommendations a condescending tone. Then I asked if I do pick it up would they keep me in the queue. Replied no, so I was like what was the point of that snark comment. Still no word and I'm still computer-less. 4000 dollar setup. read more

Get it while the getting is good!!! I have ran into some great electronic prices at this store and they are gone just as fast as they come. I recently had a laptop decide it was time to leave me. I had originally bought it here in 2009, (Yes, it's the only one in Colorado and still in business) so it was the first place I looked a year ago when things began to go wrong and my immediate go to once things finally did for good. They have a great selection of generally everything. They had only one left of what I was looking at online so I had to make a quick decision to get in the car and go get it before it was gone. They do have an order online and pick up option,but since I had to register and things were just not going my way for the day I just got in the car. When I got to the store I decided on something I hadn't noticed online for about 60.00 more. Knowing myself and how I am with things, I spent the 59.99 and bought the drop protection. Don't judge!! things happen:) So for 400.00 I was out the door with my new 17 Dell Laptop and on my way home to get that baby going. Silly me forgot to get a case for it. I returned 2 days later and grabbed a sleeve for 12.99! I went back to just do a hold up to compare for fit and all of the one I got were gone, even the floor model. It is back to school time but I was still taken back that they sold 20+ of them in 2 days. Check them out for sure. Reasons why I dig Micro Center: 1) They carry everything! Need a new mouse? There's easily 50+ to choose from with all sorts of different features depending on your needs. How about a laptop bag? There's a massive aisle with sleeves, backpacks, messengers, and more! 2) Associates are usually super helpful! I'm a bit of a computer nerd so I am usually well informed, but I still appreciate their willingness to help their customers. 3) The prices are awesome! Not only do they carry lots of name brand items, but they also have their own in house brand. Def makes for great savings on flash drives and memory cards! 4) Location, location, location! Just off I-225 and DTC Blvd - it's fairly convenient for most anyone. Plus there's ample parking. Yay! The only thing that can be frustrating here is the state of disarray the site is ALWAYS in. It's as though yesterday was Black Friday and they're still recovering. Sometimes you have to search a little harder to find what you're looking for. If I could I would give this place 10 stars. I've been buying my laptops here for years - and I've never had a bad experience. About a month ago I bought a MSI gaming laptop and it seems like I got a lemon (the backlight on the screen was already failing). Instead of waiting 4+ weeks for repair - they gave me a new laptop, swapped out the hard drive, and did some upgrade work for me in the span of a few days (lightning fast for computer repair). I'm an airline pilot - and thanks to Covid when I'm on a trip there's very little to do outside my room (even in warmer cities you can only walk so much). Having my laptop back so quickly is going to save me from weeks of mind numbing boredom. Netflix is great...but on 24+ hour overnights being able to game really makes the time fly by a lot faster. So having my laptop back so quickly is really awesome. Special thanks goes to Quinn (hope I'm spelling his name right) for some of the best customer service I've experienced in a long time. He called exactly when he said he would, followed up exceptionally well, and got the work done with literally zero delay. This week I was running out of space for programs and took it in thinking it would be a hassle, it was not! From start to finish they gave me options based on price and had me running the same day. This is not acceptable; it should be the customer's choice how to pay, and not all of us like to use a card even for smaller items. I generally prefer to support local and in-town places, but if I'm going to have to use the card anyway, I can just order from Amazon and get things right to my door. I was impressed by the variety of products available. Everything you need to build your own computer, all sorts of electronics, office supplies, etc, etc. I didn't use the Knowledge Bar but it seems like a great concept. micro center is no longer a viable or reliable establishment. I took my external hard drive in because it was broken, i bought an 8tb external to replace and then went to their "bar" to have the data transferred over. i had over 1tb of data to transfer over.... mostly films and film editing software, and content i made myself. i was told it would take "couple days", two weeks later i called as was told that it was a "difficult" process... four weeks later, i called again, pissed, at first they said "it was pick up" then they changed it to "oh, sorry it's ready" when I got it home the only transfer was 146 gigs most empty files. they wanted me to talk a manager who offered me 20 dollar off my next purchase, which i refused. i can say that from know on I will doing business with either newegg or B&H read more

BEST place for computer or electronic anything!!! Been coming here for 15+ years, thanks to my ex Matt. Have bought laptops, desktops, gaming machines, you name it for both my son's and myself along with family too. I've brought my boys here, my last ex, my mom, younger brothers and friends. Most of the staff is EXTREMELY HELPFUL! Don't be afraid to ask or say excuse me. The place is pretty big, but isles are labeled well. Prices are VERY competitive and if your a geek, lots of options to build your own pc too! My son's love doing that! The location is far south though, DTC area. I have been to MC quite a few times over the past few years and I have always had a good experience. Recently my friend and I visited to buy computer parts, as he is building his own computer. The research was already done and we knew what we needed, we just wanted to compare prices and ask a few questions. The young man who helped us was very knowledgeable and found us some great deals. We went a second time on Black Friday, although crowded the store was working at full capacity and like a well oiled machine. The line was long, however it moved as quickly as it could and the workers were on top of everything. It has never been difficult to find help and it was greatly appreciated that we didn't have to carry all of our stuff through the line, we just gave our name at the register and someone retrieved all of our stuff. What a joke. I was having problems with my iPhone Bluetooth. I looked up the Apple Genus Bar and the only one that had an appointment by the next day was The Micro Center. Now I know why. My appointment was at 5pm, got checked in, and was told they would need to run a diagnostic (at $100 charge) to figure out what part was faulty. They informed me there technician was about to go home so I would need to drop it off. i questioned their logic, since to Apple Store at the mall usually runs a diagnostic while you wait (at no charge). I further questioned why they accept an appointment if they plan to let their technician early. I was disappointed an left the store. I got home and decided to call the 1-800 Apple help line, and they had it fixed in 10 minutes. Frankly I much rather talk to someone in person, but I learned my lesson to never use Micro Center. They only want to make money, and not the normal outstanding support you get at the Apple Store at the mall. read more

On (8/17/2021) after doing hours of research I went in to grab some hardware. The selection was fairly decent, and actually got what I was looking for. The prices were good and nothing regarding the prices made me bat an eye. My CPU (R9 5900X) and RAM (G.Skill Trident Z 32GB CL 16 3600MHz) prices were discounted, nice. Overall experience was good, the dude who helped me (Travis Shurman) recommended a Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black heat sink for my processor since I didn't want to water cool my processor and what a perfect choice, nice recommendation. As for the motherboard selection it was a lot better than the website let on, which was a surprise. I chose an ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII DARK HERO and it performs as advertised (and then some). Overall, shopping experience was good and everyone there was nice and super helpful. I understand customer service is about making the customer happy, but when you call about a refund you were ASSURED would be possible at the time of purchase you're told it's only applicable to the gpu's. I'm honestly extremely disappointed to find out at the time of purchase I was blatantly lied to and learned they had no such policy. Always felt helped when I was there, but I'm actually appalled at the fact someone lied to me to make the sale. I found it odd the general manager, I assumed, was thanking me and my friend so much as we left with our purchase. Sounded like we changed the stores financial position at the time (thats how thankful they were) and now I'm left with this disgusting feeling of betrayal from them. Good place to learn more about tech, firmware, hardware, or whatever you're curious about, but don't get lied to as my friend and I did. Make everything be shown in paperwork, warranty, or any other promised service. Another thing I'll add to stress this is my friend and I bought the same computer (same spec and all) and within a year it had issues and when he used his warranty to get it serviced it took 4 months. Only for it to still have issues when he picked it up again. Another 2 months and they just replaced whatever part it was. Thankful they didn't charge him for a warranty covered problem, but for them to "fix" it and return it to him was unbelievable. read more

Had a problem with my custom PC build power cycling. It's cost $40 to diagnosed the problem. 2 weeks later they said it was my operating system. Then they said it's my power supply. Now there saying it's my motherboard. I can't talk to my technician because he's always busy. Instead I have to talk to some kid that has no idea about computers and he's reading technician notes to me. Then recommending computer parts. Lack of communication there IT department is very in un-organized. I went in to talk to the manager and he said he doesn't run the IT department and doesn't really know there jobs. It's ridiculous. It's been three weeks now. Called in today and the kid at the counter said that my technician is busy helping another customer. No time frame when my computer is going to be done and you can't talk to a technician to get advise about fixing your problem. Better of going somewhere else. I hate to say because every other department has been great to work with expect there IT department. They need to fire who ever is running that department. read more

And when you finally locate it, you will be on hold for over 15+ minutes only to be told that for repair issues, that you have to bring your product in, they will evaluate the problem on their time and reveal the price afterward. Warranty rip-off! a salesman named Dan sold me an expensive protection plan, saying it covered accidental damage up to two years and manufactures defects up to four. well, maybe a couple weeks after getting the monitor it got some cracks from a small bump as i was removing it from its mount. i called their number yesterday to confirm i could exchange my monitor today. the rep said he couldn't check the stock, but if they didn't have it i'd just get a cash refund. now i drove all the way here, a two hour round trip, and they're saying it's not covered. EDIT: after waiting in the store for two hours to talk to the manager, they refunded me for the warranty only, and told me to contact the manufacturer about a replacement. One of their employees accidentally knocked the monitor off the cart, damaging it further. read more

Compared to Best Buy, small guys around Denver, and others, this is about as good as it gets in CO. Just remember this is Denver so the work ethic at this store is better than other places in town too even if it is not always 100% great (comparing to other weekend gigs I've held but those pay better than a retail associate too). You're usually lucky not to get a kid, stoner, or half-***er at other places. The techs go the extra mile to try and help (fixed my screen for $0/ replaced things that broke without sending to mfg./etc.). They want to find what you need. Remember Mac is an Apple product. There are very, very few people who can truly help you with a Mac and Apple sues most of them for simply not replacing the machine (Louis Rossman). The retail associates deserve their commission since they actually work with you to find the products you need. Honestly, the best way to get help here is to just mention what you need and a thing here and there as you hone in on a solution. Try that at Best Buy. There is a reason these guys don't need to sell dishwashers to break even. The only other 1 star review I can see here that isn't for Mac/Apple is for one of those oddball accidents. That is earned. The only downside, prices can be a bit higher than Amazon for some prices and they dropped the refurbished monitor deals which was a bummer. Would like to see more refurbished PCs and monitors like back in the day. read more
