Came in on a Saturday with my laptop that needed a battery replacement and the place was packed. I meandered around the laptops for less than a minute before someone asked if they could help out. He located the battery I needed and then walked me to another associate who helped me pick out the exact charger I would need since I was replacing my old frayed one as well. Checkout was fully manned at 13 stations so the long line went by quickly. I will never buy anything from this business again. Purchased an Epson printer, had problems with it from the beginning, but figured it was just me not being a tech person. I tried everything with Epson customer service and finally gave up. Wanted to call and see about returning the printer, gee they have no phone number to talk to a person. Now past the return date after messing around trying to get help. I should have listened to my gut feeling when purchasing it that the people there just wanted to make a sale. Never again and I'm out $300 for a printer that is worthless! I don't get taken very often, but this place will never get another penny from me. Bad business practices and disappointing. read more

This store reminds me alot of my childhood. As a child, I was fascinated with computers, I would get the empty case and build it up with all the latest and greatest parts that I could afford. Hard drives, motherboards, sound cards, videos cards, and other parts to build an amazing gaming rig. Since most of the stores from my childhood have long since gone. It's good to see that custom build computers are still a thing that people today can do. Updating my review! It's been a year or two since I was last at MicroCenter, and boy have they made renovations. New signage (haha, a personal thanks on that one), reorganization of the store layout, and in general, it's become a lot more user-friendly to the average person like me. Okay, maybe I'm below average when it comes to tech... but nonetheless! I am no longer overwhelmed! A HUGE shout-out to Alano, the sales rep who helped me out. He was able to explain to me differences in HDMI cables (I had no clue), plus give me advice on the perfect gift for my husband- the true tech guru in our house. Besides electronics for regular computering or entertainment, this place has such much technology I'm pretty sure someone who knew how to use it could build portals to other dimensions, or maybe 3D print an entire apartment complex. As for me, no major purchases beyond random headphones, cable organizer, etc. it's an overwhelming inventory but this place is well staffed and employees are helpful. Autumn, our sales person, went above and beyond! We were there last weekend and no one helped us so we left. We came back this evening and it was a completely different experience. We did have one individual ignore us before autumn came and helped us so fortunate we got him as his our sales person because he was beyond knowledgeable about the television about the sound bars about the mounts for the televisions. He really helped us so much, beyond grateful definitely would go out of my way to find this person again. And my experience a lot of the sales people at Micro Center. Don't really help you. Westmont store is amazing - great customer service, everything you want for computers

Customer service is trash. I came in for a price match, they walked me through exactly what I needed to do. If it's on Amazon, it must be shipped and sold by Amazon OR the direct manufacturer. So I kindly obliged, and grabbed a different docking station that was properly price match-able to their standards. I then get another runaround by the EXACT same person that told me the guidelines, saying that "yes I said that, but now it's changed"..... it was 30 minutes earlier. And before my receipt was printed, the lady told me "have a nice day sir" as if I needed to leave, and proceeded to obnoxiously ask if I wanted my receipt as I was already walking out. Do not lie to people, do not fail to stand by the step by step instructions you gave to me. The worst customer service I've seen since pandemic lifted, all over 26 bucks. Horrible. read more

I walked in and within 2 minutes, An associate named Marty ASKED ME IF I NEEDED HELP!??? Holy Christ! This may be a sign of the Second Coming!!! Anyway I expected the new power cord to cost $60.00 (from Best Buy website). It was $50.00 at MC, but Marty looked at my busted cord, and found a $10.00 resolution!!! My hero! I've seen a lot of videos on Micro Centre but unfortunately I've never been able to go until now when I walked in it blew pass my already high expectations. They had everything that you could want for all tech not just PC gaming They're laptop. Selection was absolutely insane. You had a chance to use the laptop and test it out before making your purchase every single laptop. I can think of they had there on their display. They also had an amazing selection of 3-D printers speakers, keyboards mouse, computer components, chargers, literally, every single tech you could possibly imagine, the stuff or also amazing too every section of the store I went in I had multiple people asking if I needed help which was great and also once I picked out my audio interface, some chargers and a few other items I went to the cashier and the guy was super great we had an excellent conversation then I was on my way overall, I cannot recommend the store enough. I had a disaster with my computer and showed up with head in hand and my extra hard drive to see it they could retrieve my information. The first thing that they told me was that it would be 18 days before they could even look at my computer. Yep, everyone is short staffed! Yikes, I don't know about you, but my computer is my lifeline! Luckily, they were able to download all of my information onto my hard drive in 24 hours. Lucky! The very helpful salesperson told me that my computer wasn't even worth looking at to fix, as it was both very damaged, old and a new one would be a lot better at this time. I agreed. I did look at what they had but their stock is very limited and I couldn't find what I wanted. But thank you MC for getting my backup in 24 hours! read more

After spending more than $4,000 on a custom-build, they simply throw their hands in the air when it does not work. I went in Microcenter in Denver Colorado while on vacation with the purpose of finding a deal on a gpu. No microcenter in my home state. Still have a 1070 from the 2016. I aslo told myself that i would go in with a positive and (act like a noob) attitude. well i got a card and they told me it has no issues... Its the 7900 xt and its problem is the vapor chamber itself. A BIG BIG KNOWN ISSUE. So now i have to take this thing apart and fix/replace the entire cooling system attached to it. unit price 699.99, deal 594.96 open boxed. I asked 3 people if it had any issues with overheating and all said no. what happend to informing the customer instead of just making a sale. read more

I've spent THOUSANDS of dollars here and am utterly confused how I continue to go back to such subpar service. In addition to buying a lot of custom equipment, I used to get my machines serviced here. "Used to" being the key operative here. This place is a disorganized shitshow. As an authorized Lenovo shop, I took my laptop there because it was under warranty. I was promised a lengthy, but conservative estimate of 9 days to get it back. Rough, but okay. Parts, I was told, could take a while. 14 days later...I get a voicemail telling me something's up with my machine. I call back, no answer. I text. No response. I go INTO the store and am told that nothing has been done. They're unsure any of it is covered under warranty. It was. I don't bother going back and forth. "What about the driver issue I brought it in for?" I ask. "What driver issue?" They didn't even write down the work order request. Why would you take a machine if you don't know anything about what needs to be fixed? "We couldn't do a full scan because we didn't have the passcode," the rep says. "You do have it. I gave it to you." I tell them the number, and lo and behold! They have it on my account. What the shit, guys? Seriously. I even paid for diagnostics on an older machine, hoping to get some kind of specific recommendation to improve performance. $40 and more than a week later, I'm told they did a hardware scan and nothing was wrong. What? Did you listen to the initial request? I called and they said, "Oh, well, we can wipe the operating system and reinstall, but that's $100." If I wanted it reinstalled, I would take the five minutes necessary to do it myself. Idiots. Their internal communication is terrible. I spent 15 minutes waiting for the staff to find a business card of one of their service managers - who apparently hardly works and is never in. Going to try Best Buy and see if the results are any better. read more

I used to love Micro Center, both for shopping and for service but I doubt I will ever shop there again. They are listed as having a Genius Bar but after 2 attempts to get help with my iPhone and spending over 2 hours in the process, I think that Apple should remove them from their Genius Bar database. The service desk staff are poorly trained and the procedure for actually getting in front of an Apple expert is random. No one informed me that I needed to turn off security settings before leaving my home's secure wifi so on my second visit they wouldn't touch my phone for an hour until it had reset. There is no Genius Bar signage and making an appointment for that 'Genius Bar' didn't help me be seen any sooner than if I had walked into the store and logged into the system to be seen at the Customer Service desk. If you need help with an Apple product, stick with an Apple Store! read more

I dread going here. I mean I'm not the target demographic for Microcenter but I've been there a few times to pick up items for my boyfriend's Raspberry Pi build as a holiday gift. The times I've been in there, I've been blatantly ignored. They would rather help out the white males than me who is waiting patiently. It wasn't until I got huffy that someone came over to answer my questions about a touchscreen for the Pi. He was very apologetic but I would consistently be ignored every time I go in there. Also my boyfriend who has spent thousands of dollars there (he is Mexican American) has told me he has been followed around and watched closely by employees so I totally believe the reviews left regarding discrimination. I had no idea about micro center or what to expect. I didn't even read Yelp reviews prior to coming here. I was looking for a basic desktop stand to hold a cam for streaming. I also wanted to check and see if they sold anything to fix Apple watches. The parking lot was big because of the center it was in , however the actual parking was a bit chaotic. There were no lines to get and the store was a lot larger than I expected. It reminded me of another's store model out on the west coast, unfortunately that store shuttered all its stores this year. I thought the sections of the store were creative here . Computers , security, televisions, STEM, accessories and hardware. There were so many employees that wanted to help and were genuine in their interactions with me. A nice young lady got on computer and checked for certain items and she was knowledgeable in the area I needed. The store was pretty busy on a Sat. mid-day. I found a cam stand and the receiver is very happy with it. I can see myself returning for specific items in the future because there isn't enough of these sites around. Love this place. If you're not convinced at how essential all things microcenter actually are and how full CO is try this place on a Saturday morning. Staff obviously doing their best plus dadbods galore. I was expecting to wait. I found out the hard way current Murphys Law both collective and individual. Data migration pulled fraction of what I had in initial files. I went elsewhere and got it on an external drive. I've been working in a hospital through covid and just wasn't thinking. I would have lost travel pics, people no longer here and business spreadsheet. With burnout, it's the little things that make a big difference and laptop is not a coaster. *****At any rate they covered bill I paid elsewhere for hard drive and it was substantial.**** A loyal customer they had and will continue to have. It made my week in so many ways. I've seen some off kilter stressed people take it out on staff so for them and part of me that wanted to be like that. We're in a pandemic and if you moved to CO for outdoors don't expect to have convenience of whatever sprawling Houston you come from.
