I like how unassuming Micro Center is, as opposed to, say, Best Buy. Too bad it's so far away from where I live, but I'm still grateful there is one! I hope they'll keep doing well. read more

Amazing selection of computer parts and paraphernalia. Prices on the high side but selection is outstanding and they have an Apple room as well. If you need it today, this place likely has it available now! This store has become my goto place for urgent computer needs. If you have time, buy your item online for about 25% less. One tip: save your receipt for any returns as they can be nasty in the return line. read more

Terrible customer service, even from management. Allow me to summarize their return policy: "Give us your money and if you have any issues contact the manufacturer, mail the defective product to them at your own cost, wait however long it takes, all the while we will just keep your money because we did not build or design the product, we only sell it to you." Because yeah your gonna to keep alot of customer requiring us to work with the manufacturer, ok. Will not buy anything from them ever again. read more

I finally caved in to the subconscious desire to spend cash over the holidays, as well as succumbing to geeky desires and boosted my processor from a dual-core E4300 (low-mid end) to a quad-core Q9550 (2nd fastest quad-core, before Intel moved to the i5 and i7 series). It was the best way to boost my compy's performance right now, without going in for $300-400 more in a new motherboard and memory sticks if I got an i5 or i7 processor. Most of the time, 98% of the time, my E4300 was doing just fine, but 2 new programs I have suck computing power like a black hole and take a long time to complete things, and I wanted things to move along faster. Newegg has this processor on sale for $250 (on 12/26/09). Pricewatch has their lowest listing for $235. Froogle's lowest listing is $216 new (more for a used one!) Micro Center? Clockin in at a cool $170, Even with tax, $183.11. Micro Center can seriously kick ass at surprising you on prices, especially in the processor department (it varies in other areas from 'ho-hum' to 'wow, great deal'). Too bad that all their processor specials are apparently *so* low, if you try hunting for one on their website? It doesn't show up at all. You gotta go there to see it. But there's a good chance you're gonna get a great deal. read more

This place is nuts, in a good way. I needed some computer parts fast, and instead of ordering online, I just popped in here and found what I needed in 5 minutes. Love the new layout, and the customer service is always on point. read more

This is the only Colorado location, so we go out of our way to come here. They have a large selection with reasonably knowledgable staff. The store is usually busy, so if you're in a super big hurry, they offer ordering items online and then coming to the service desk to pick them up. We've done this a few times and it has always been a quick process. They have great prices and you can usually find a deal or rebate. Quick tip: This is not a Best Buy. Micro Center is a computer store. read more

This is basically the brick and mortar version of newegg.com and has often had better deals. The staff is friendly and helpful when needed but not in your face if you are just browsing. The check out lines can get long but not because they don't have registers open. Besides, they have silly little novelties like cow shaped jump drives in the line to keep you entertained. As far as pricing goes its pretty reasonable with the exception of any cords you may need. Cords or cables at MicroCenter are far more expensive than anything you'll find online at Newegg or Amazon, but I guess that makes sense - if you can't wait for a cord to be shipped you probably need it now and are willing to completely overpay! read more

This place has got everything! It's like the Costco of computer hardware! Not just computer hardware, but everything else as well from Books, Software, Televisions to sound systems. We've been looking for a good computer/electronics store and Micro Center has been the most impressive so far! The staff is surprisingly helpful and knowledgeable with a great selection and plenty of items in stock. My fiancé and I were looking at different gaming laptops, and it was so nice to be able to get a feel for the products before buying. Nothing like ordering a laptop online only to find out you hate the trackpad. The store is a little cluttered and crazy, but it's so nice to have a local shop with so much in stock. And the prices (with taxes) are comparable to Amazon's tax-free prices! read more

Being perhaps the only serious computer store in town, I frequent Micro Center every now and then. The selection of stuff is always great, and you can easily check the stocks online before arriving to the store. The prices are really fair, even comparing to online retailers. The service is horrible. They are always understaffed and at some occasions I had to wait for over 10 minutes for a rep that wasn't really helpful. So you better know what you're looking for beforehand. read more

I have found that this is the only store in Colorado that has the little misc. parts a person would be looking for. My son was deployed overseas and asked me to pick up computer parts. He built his own. While trying to get each individual part, I found the sales people very knowledgeable and went above and beyond in the service. They checked inventory and said it was not in stock. But like a good employee who is observant of what is around him. He went in back and found one that he thought he had seen in passing. He could have blown me off and I would not know for the better. Aces in my book! read more

I don't write reviews but I have to review this place. I have spent thousands here, built and rebuilt several desktops. The staff are incredibly friendly, energetic, knowledgeable, and helpful. Thanks, Microcenter, for such a great business. read more

I was really pleased to buy an Apple Mac Book Pro from Microcenter, I saved $200 than if I had bought the same computer at the Apple store. Our salesperson, Jeff was really helpful in choosing an appropriate monitor for my needs. Also was helped by an employee ,Topher, who pointed out the deal on the computer. My only complaint is that the manager was obviously pressuring our sales person to sell me the extended warranty, that I didn't want or need. read more

A flat out disaster. No other way to explain it. Service? Awful - arrived at store a stood in a line of 12-15 people for technical support. 2 people at counter disappeared for 20 minutes. When I finally got my computer checked in I was told that it might be finished that afternoon. I needed a drive replaced and a power button repaired. By the time A week had passed they told me that my 256 gb drive was still cloning. When I asked for the manager he argued with me saying he had seen this 30 min to 3 hr process take up to a week. I told him to put it together for pick up. 45 minutes later a sheepish tech called and stated the cloning process had evidently stalled. They now had a fix and an hour later it was ready. When I picked it up and took it home after my $500 of repairs and parts I found the start button only worked intermittently. Moreover everything on my hard drive repeatedly clones filling up the entire 1 terabyte boot drive, OneDrive and Dropbox with 9 or more copies of every picture document and song I have. I can't locate the process that is cloning even after installing every back up program I could find in the task manager. Either malice or flat incompetence (either seems equally likely). I want my money back. read more

I bought a refurb macbook pro on Dec 24,2020. As there was no info included in the box, I inquired about warrantee, applecare cost, etc. All the answers I received turned out to be false, even the price of applecare is $130 more than I was told. I have absolutely zero idea why everyone raves about this place. I came in to get help and was bounced from person to person. When I finally got to the people who could assist with fixing my laptop (I asked if they could help me get the back off my computer) they handed me a bunch of screw heads to get the back off. They didn't have it (which Apple confirmed since I then had to go there, that they should as an authorized retailer) so I asked if i could buy one and they pointed and said yeah it's over there. No. Help. Anywhere. After I visited Apple and upon their recommendation to try Micro Center I called to set up an appointment but apparently they don't feel the need to pick up the phone for 30 minutes (which is how long I waited) before they close. Update: I dropped my laptop because that is what Apple recommended (even though my gut told me not to) on 3/26. I was told it would be 4 days before someone looked at it. Called on 3/30 to check and said I would get a call back that day - no call back. Called again 4/2 (giving them the weekend) and was told I'd get a call back but they had been busy and fallen behind - no call back. Called again 4/3 and was told my laptop was being 'mri'd' as we spoke and would have an answer in the AM - no call. Went in on 4/4 and found nothing had been done, hadn't even been touched. Guy was sympathetic and said they would call no matter what that night, even if they didn't get it looked at to give me an update - no call. Spoke with a lady at executive customer service today and said she will call back. Will update. It has been two weeks since my first experience with this company and have been lied to at EVERY opportunity. Second and final update: Connie from customer service got in touch with the GM and Jon, the OM. Jon came to my rescue with not one, but two solutions. I cannot express my gratitude for Jon, but very much wish it had never had to come to having to do this. Thank you a million times Jon and Connie! read more

Built my own PC through Micro Center in April 2012 and overall a great experience with very cheap prices. Bought/built a brand new gaming PC for around $800. I have never built a whole computer but had changed out hard drives, memory cards, other parts in the past. Brian, the MC employee in build your own was very helpful in answering my questions and pointing me in the right direction, even explaining how to do certain things. Well I got the whole system put together and it would not install Windows. I brought it in to their diagnostic center where it sat for a whole week before they got to it to diagnose. They could not find anything wrong with it. I had done some reading and found that memory errors were common and replaced it the memory sticks. The computer booted, installed windows, and now works fine and has been jamming along for a month now without issue. When I saw the 39.99 diagnostic fee on my CC, I called over and asked them to credit me since they didn't diagnose anything and in fact delayed the process, and the manager Scott listened to my story and credited it back. Only other negative thing is it is super crowded and the workers are understaffed. This is probably why they are able to go so low on price. Minus a half star for the diagnostic center which was of no help, but only a half star because of the other services and help that I received. read more

Two trips here over the last couple of weeks to upgrade memory on my iMac. Had them do the install, unfortunately the computer rejected the memory. Entire staff couldn't have been more helpful and apologetic. Got me the right memory and a refund for the price difference. Shopped around for a few other items and encountered friendly, helpful, but not pushy customer service in all departments. When technical speak came up, they dumbed it down as much or as little as they needed to. Great competitive pricing too. HIghly recommended read more

I had the absolute worst experience of my retail life at the Micro Center. I'm a college student and recently my computer needed a very simple repair. I was told to go to Micro Center by my school's IT center; what a terrible decision. First of all, it took them almost two weeks to even look at my computer. The entire time, I kept calling to check up on the status and my calls were never answered. Not once. Finally I went in person, and was told that they "might be able to get to it the next day". When I finally received a call, the told me that they didn't have the part and that it would take another week. Guess what? It took over a week and I never received a call updating me on the status. Finally, ALMOST A MONTH LATER, I was told my computer was fixed. When I went in, they tried to charge me almost double of what the original quote was. Had I not pointed it out, they never would have realized the error. The customer service here is horrible and clearly they do not care about their customers. Never, ever use Micro Center for anything! I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

I took in my asic 3 weeks ago because of a simple fan malfunction. I even provided the new fan. My technician Connor S. Told me as well as his team he is experienced with ASICS and will have more information for me in 3 days. After I don't know how many calls to the micro center, calls to their customer service, chats with their online support and even numerous visits to the physical location over 45 minutes away from me and I express many times I'm on a time sensitive schedule. It took me probably the 50th-51st call/chat/visit to get ahold of Connor who then tells me "from what you told me when you brought it in you have to take it under warranty " I told him it's status had been under diagnosis for 3 weeks and my warranty expired while they had possession of my equipment for such a unnecessary amount of time and I asked is all the information he has simply what I told him after 3 weeks. He then tells me "yes. Based off my visual diagnosis and what you told me you have to get it replaced" so I asked " so you mean to tell me I paid you to look at and hold my equipment for 3 weeks just to tell me exactly what I told you when I brought it in?" He then get extremely disrespectful so I ask for a manager and in the middle of my asking I am hung up on. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well as my local attorney for lost of wages as I explained many times the equipment in question I used for my work full time and have now missed out on 3 payments due to Connor and his stupidity. read more

I've always built my own computers so when i built the most recent one i of course went to microcenter hoping they would be more knowledgeable than the big box stores. They helped me pick out some parts based on what i needed which was great. Unfortunately i had some memory problems that i never got around to diagnosing until a year later. Come to find out the memory i was sold was not compatible with the motherboard i was sold. Since they still sell the memory and its their screw up i thought maybe theyll let me swap it out for compatible memory and i can just pay the difference. Nope! Rules are Rules. I guess they expect you to be the expert when coming in to their store. Unfortunately my only recourse is a review and to return the $400 in product i just purchased yesterday. read more

My son and I had to go to Microcenter to get a new hard drive. We had the protection warranty on it which was good. The Service Department there was very well run and we only had to wait about 5 minutes before our name was called. We had a gentleman named Steven help us and he was great! Very friendly and helpful. Also, what we thought was cool was that the entire Service Department personnel all looked upbeat and friendly. Nice to see that kind of camaraderie. read more

I've been buying computers/monitors/hardware upgrades/etc here for years. Used them 2 weeks ago to fix my wife's 4 year old laptop that had gone on the fritz. Took it in and my wife asked for a hard drive back up & for them to find out what was wrong with it. They called a few days later w/ the diagnosis of a bad hard drive and bad RAM. Quoted us a price. After doing the math - I decided to purchase a new laptop instead of fixing the old one. All good so far! So - we buy a new laptop (from Microcenter) and then stop by repair desk to get our data & old laptop. Turns out - back up never done. Girl said we could drop off the new lap top and the tech would transfer data in 2 days. Not ideal - but ok. After not hearing anything for 3 days - my wife drives down there to find out what's going on because..... THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL. More to come on this later. Wife arrives and repair desk said tech wasn't working. Manager was no help - said his tech would get to it tomorrow. So, we get 2 calls from tech the next day explaining they can't do the data backup (voicemails). It would need to be sent to a 3rd party. Hummm - 3rd party. I though Micro-Center's help desk was the experts. They billed themselves as able to fix anything. It's why we used them. If I could speak with them, I'd ask them who they use. THAT'S who I would use for any further repair work. But that's another story... So - we're still here 2 weeks later. We both have jobs that don't allow us to answer our cell phone calls. So - if we miss their call. There is absolutely NO WAY to call them back. None. Wife calls corporate office. They took her name/# and was to give her msg to customer service. Never got a call back from them either. So, to sum up. If you need to use their service dept - be warned. Data back ups can be done, but not by them. If you need to communicate with them during the process, it better be a conversation that can be had via email - or you're SOL. Ok - I feel better now. Anyone want to join me for a beer? read more

Went in to Micro Center today to invest in a new computer that I am building myself. When I arrived I was not greeted by the Plethora of Salesmen standing around by the Bathrooms. They looked and did not care. As a salesman myself, I was taught that a greeting within 90 seconds is crucial to a customers decision... Which believe me it is. I strolled around in the monitors first and made a tab on two of them that caught my eye. I then ventured over to the video cards and Desktop tower cases to decide on all of the components I liked. Needless to say I found everything I wanted and was ready to make my purchase. But... 30 minutes of being there... I was still not greeted. One salesman even said "Excuse me" as he walked pass me to talk to the other salesmen... I decided... "Well, Okay... Maybe I'll check out the HDMI cords since I'll be needing a Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable anyways" When we came to that aisle... Two salesmen were stocking them... One of them immediately dispersed, the other continued his stocking. I then turned to him inquiring about the quality of the cable... Didn't even look in my direction... then gets up and walks away. In my line of work... being a commissioned salesman I am taught NEVER to stereotype... and ALWAYS greet the customer. .. Well... I was stereotyped very badly today. Maybe, perhaps because I'm young and I don't look like your "Typical Computer gaming genius" regardless... I've decided to purchase all of my components from an online website which actually seems to have better deals for the exact same product I wanted. read more

Came here for my first time two weeks ago. I wanted to get into a new computer and get better knowledge of what im doing. I'd say I was looking at computer for about 25 minutes until I kind of just gave up on looking. I didn't know really how to compare different models and no one helped me or asked at that matter. On my way out I noticed the accessories. Emi, this guy right here asked if I needed anything or help with an item. I explained to him i just kind of gave up on looking and he offered to go out his keyboard and mouse section and walked me to personal choice models of computers. He broke down pretty much everything I wanted and needed to know! Super cool guy, didn't press me to buy anything but instead kind of inspired me to take a chance and feel confident in buying not only a computer but TWO monitors as well. Even after everything was all said and done. Turns out the power source to my computer was faulty and I needed to return it. Had a computer salesman just hand me a new box with a computer in it and said "you're good you can go.." that didn't really make me feel confident with sticking with my choice but more leaning towards returning everything and getting my money back. Ran into Emi again! Dude explained what happened, apologized and even help me made sure this issue won't happen again. All in all rocky start and middle part from buying from Micro Center but thanks to Emi I decided to stick with it and I couldn't be happier with my setup now. Hats of to Emi. If you need anything 110% go to him! What would have received a 1 star turned into a 4 star rating. read more

I appreciate that the Micro Center is practicing COVID-19 restrictions, limiting # of customers, employees wearing mask, etc. However what I didn't appreciate was the guy that had a mask around his neck pulled down not covering his mouth that was contacting each customer to tell them how to sign in to the waitlist to get into the store, as he kept trying to get closer to me to tell me how it worked. Absolutely no social distancing. He alone took two stars off of the rating. read more

I absolutely love Microcenter Denver. I go here when ever I can for any of my tech needs and I refer tons of business here. However, I hold strong to a 4 star review until they begin to offer a better curve of holding my business more. Competitors will catch up eventually. Majority of the time the staff is great, knowledgeable, and helpful, however occasionally the staff attitude can get away from them which is understandable and negligible, bad days happen. I wish that they would implement a referral program however, it would be easier for me to recommend their business not only because it is top quality, but that they care about returning customers. 1) The staff is incredibly knowledgeable. 2) The products they offer are always high quality. 3) Their warranties are unprecedented in the tech field. 4) I love that the staff is not occupied with shoving unnecessary sales down your throat. If you don't know what you need, if you tell them what you are looking to do they will help you get the best option. If you do know what you need, they will honor your request and be respectful. I bring a lot of business to microcenter, in the last 6 months I have conducted numerous trips purchasing laptops, accessories, desktops, and any other tech needs. They always have a good selection that fits my need, they are mostly punctual and professional. Rarely have I had a complaint, and when one surfaces they are on top of the issue. Negative: It makes me sad that they have no business rewards type program. I bring a lot of business to microcenter, however there is no incentive for me to continue. For now I continue to bring business because it is best for my customers, but the fact that I bring $10,000+ in business in a given period and there is no incentive to do it other than a thank you. I would love to see a small, business reference and reward type system for continued business. read more
