Smoked Turkey sandwich - I think they need bigger trays, or better yet, plates!
David L.

Pulled into the parking on a Thursday evening around 6:15pm, and it was very busy. We took that as a good sign, but overall, we left feeling pretty disappointed. There was a good sized bar area, as well as a lower dining room where we sat. Every part of the service, while very friendly, was equally slow - taking our order, waiting for food, no water refills, etc. The food was meh - I ordered a smoked Turkey sandwich w/ bacon and avocado, which was a "special" that evening and recommended by our server. It was fine, but the fries were served room temperature, which was too bad as they looked they they would have been good had they been hot. We also ordered the jalapeño burger. Despite the pickled jalapeños, it was somewhat bland and lacked seasoning. Oh, and it was as cold as the fries. I suspect our food sat in the kitchen for a while before being brought out to us, but we didn't have time to send it back or wait any longer.

Fun bar area

Pretty sure the salad dressing was spoiled, just like the decor and ripped stools.

I saw the size of Shepard's pie dish and was two portions, the beef stew is huge, outstanding. Chicken parm with pasta huge... I'd enjoy 1/2-2/3 of portion and lower price now a-days . All is good, beers, food, vibes, staff. 16 oz beers look small with head on top. I wasn't given the specials menu with the normal menu... I wanted the beef stew and wasn't on regular menu ... was on specials ... Bartender should have assured I was given it... his annoyed me when I saw someone ordered the beef stew...

We started with the pretzel bites and a curl of French onion soup (so sad I didn't get a photo). Both delicious although the cheese sauce for the pretzel bites was a bit thin - the flavor was there though. The French onion soup was delicious! The first spoonful made my tastebuds dance! The bread in the soup tasted like rye which ended up being a nice touch. They also did not skimp on the cheese! For our meals, my wife got the French dip sandwich handheld which she enjoyed. She was only able to finish half. I couldn't decide and asked our waitress to decide for me from shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie, and the London broil. She talked me into the shepherd's pie due to the weather outside and the fact that it is so big, I would definitely get to take home leftovers. This dish was huge! From the first spoonful, the taste of the sirloin/potato/demiglace was perfect. This is definitely a hearty dish worthy of a winter's night! From the smile on the host's face when we walked in, the ambience with the wood, windows, and lights, and our wonderful (and attentive) waitress, our visit to O'Hara's was definitely one we would like to replicate!

Decor wise, there's not much to write home about. Outdated with lots of wood but, hey, it's a pub. Which is why I didn't expect fancy restaurant prices. The evening started out fine. Our friendly young server brought us a basket of warm Irish soda bread with real Irish butter, which was delicious. Our water was served in cute logo glasses. Strangely enough, the beverage menu listed wine prices but not cocktail prices. And we wanted Margaritas, which weren't listed. When we asked our server, she immediately said they didn't offer them. Since they have a full bar, we asked why. I honestly don't think she knew what a Margarita was. She said she'd ask the bartender & came back to tell us they could make them. We asked the price. Again, she had to find out... $12. We agreed, but when she returned with two drinks in Old Fashioned glasses, I refused mine. The drink was literally 4 sips! My dining companion kept hers & said it was nicely made but not worth the price. I ordered a ginger ale instead ($3). We both ordered fish & chips ($21) and, again, were disappointed with what we received for the price. The chips appeared to be hand cut & were tasty, but the small, thin fish fillets were breaded in what I believe was cornmeal. Edible but certainly not what you'd expect from an Irish pub. Where's the beer batter? Neither of us liked the tiny cup of coleslaw. Afterwards, we asked for a dessert menu. Again, no prices. There were three desserts & several coffee drinks listed. We opted for Irish coffees ($13) and were pleased with the coffee, whiskey, brown sugar and fresh whipped cream concoctions. With tax & tip, the total bill came to $105.76, way too much for this kind of place. And, they ended up charging us $13 for that mini-Margarita. Whatever. We won't be back.
