My recommendation; order anything that has the shredded beef in it, have chili gravy on anything that needs sauce and make sure you have at least one tamale. The shredded beef is flavorful fantastic. The chili gravy is not tomato based sauce, real chili sauce, and the tamales are spicey perfect. They are even better with the chili gravy on them! I had two crisp tacos that were packed with the delicious beef. My wife got the tamale and a cheese enchilada with the chili gravy on both. Salsas are average. They serve that strange semitransparent gelatinous dip that has a cheese color, but no cheese taste. A substitute for real queso. It seems be an appetizer common to these small-town Okie Mexican restaurants. I have no idea of what that really is. Just don't eat it. The service is good and friendly. The restaurant is clean.

They advertise as authentic Mexican and they are, with what I would call a little TexMex added in here and there. It was and excellent find for us. Two of the best plates of Mexican food that we have had, in small town Oklahoma restaurants. Nothing bland from the salsa to the beans, excellent spicy flavors. My wife had the Fried Tamales. Two fried until golden brown, topped with tomatillo salsa verde and queso blanco, garnished with diced tomatoes and cilantro. Served with rice and beans. For me the Papa Poblano. It was a different presentation of my favorite Mexican food items. An amazing combination of a deep-fried cheese filled Chile Relleno rolled up in a slab of fajita beef, topped with sauteed shrimp in a creamy mushroom chipotle sauce, garnished with diced tomatoes and cilantro. It is difficult to explain how delicious this combination was. The creamy cheesy spicy chipotle sauce made the meal. On the side, the perfect charro beans, topped with fresh chopped jalapeno, tomato and onion. These 5-star meals you have to try. They favor TexMex in presentation and spiciness. A great Mexican restaurant, attractive décor, comfortable chairs and booths, with small town friendly service. Beer and Tequila is available. Their menu can be found online.

The inside stretches for what seems like a city block. A big dining area up front and an over flow area in the back. Parking is easy access, with a lot next to the restaurant. It is a clean, comfortable interior with Mexican décor everywhere. Plenty of large booths line up on both sides of the restaurant. They are covered above with an open pergola type structure. It creates a relaxing patio dining feeling. Great tasty salsas, especially the salsa picante. I had the # 1 Combo: taco, enchilada w/ ground beef and bean chalupa. I added a side of beans. My wife had the #2 Combo: taco, enchilada w/ ground beef and relleno. These are bargain meals at $7.99 each. All very good, well-seasoned beef beans and queso. My wife was especially pleased with the chili relleno, rating it very high. Bristow has two great Mexican restaurants.
