Best Hair Dresser Nashville - Shawn Morris at Imagine Design Team!…read more When I first got to Nashville a year ago, I was also in transition from having self dyed black hair for years. I was kinda scared to be honest to go to a hair dresser again. My hair grows fast and I'm going grey now... ack what to do? I wanted to find a nice and good hairdresser in a town I'd just moved to. Luckily I found Shawn. She's so lovely and is a specialist at color. She fixed things in my first visit so I was super happy AND she didn't make me feel bad at my own attempts at coloring my hair. I'm so happy with her and she is just super nice and makes the whole experience easy and lovely.

Buyer Beware - Bait and Switch:…read more I was looking for a place to get highlights in my hair. There is a salon close to my home. When I stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon, I was told partial highlights would be 95.00 and I made an appointment for that Saturday. When I got home I told my husband I had made an appointment. He asked if it was Bishop's Salon. He mentioned our neighbor went there and liked the salon. I called Bishop's and asked how much the cost was to do partial highlights. The woman I spoke with said highlights done by the associate would be $90, or an appointment with the owner would be 140.00 because of her experience. I made an appointment with the associate and I then canceled the first appointment I made with the first Salon. I arrived for my appointment at Bishop's at 9 and Zaynab took me back right away. She did a nice job and the highlights looked good. As I was checking out, a woman named Frederica, said the total was $150.00. I let her know that when I booked the appointment they quoted me $90.00 with Zaynab or $140.00 with the owner, Mitzi. Frederica told me $90.00 was for color, not partial highlights (although I specifically requested partial highlights when I called to ask the price). I paid it since the work was done and there was no price list in the shop to refer to, only my telephone conversation. When I got home I told my husband about the change it price, we decided to go back and speak with the owner. The girl that checked me out was at the counter and I asked her to explain the $60 price difference again to the two of us. She said it was for color, not highlights. I asked to speak to the owner. When Mitzi came to the counter, I explained that I was quoted $90.00 and that I canceled the appointment with the other Salon because the prices quoted were close. She said: "No one at Bishop's would have said that." and asked "Don't you I think that $140 was a fair price?" I told her she could charge whatever she wanted, but I was quoted $90.00. Mitzi said, "I don't believe you." At that point we left the salon, there would have been no point in further discussion since she essentially called me a liar. If they would have quoted me 140.00 for the partial highlights, I would have just kept the appointment at the first salon. Zaynab did a fine job with the highlights of my hair. My complaints are with the price charged vs what i was quoted and secondly the rude way I was treated when discussing the situation with the owner.

They do ok work but way too pricy and last appointment I made..... my stylist was out sick so they got someone in training to do my hair while someone "supervised" that was crap. No supervision and my highlights and cut was crap, but I still got charged for a professional to do my hair not someone in training. The main reason I am writing is we are moving back and I will NOT go back to Bishops. NOW HERE IS THE REAL KICKER!!! I worked at City LImits Cafe and several people from Bishop's ordered food and wanted it delivered. No problem. I had to use my after work time my car my gas to deliver their food and not one of them tipped me. Not even a dollar or a penny, but they sure do want their tips. Selfish people!!!!!

******UNSANITARY*********…read more I received services for the first time today in the Loft of Salon Galleria. I don't want to name my particular stylist as she really did do a good job on the haircut, but there was a major issue that will prevent me from coming back. I just want to bring it up to management so that there is better protocol.  My stylist used the same hairbrush on me as she used on the client before me, only removing hair from it. Why didn't I say anything? Because you don't complain to someone with scissors who is about to cut your hair, and when you need the cut badly, there's no walking out. There were no Barbicide containers at her station or any other station. It was a full house of stylists while I was there, and I didn't see cleaning solutions at any station.  I liked my stylist and her work, but the sanitation practices were not such that I would return. I hope this feedback can institute some standard practices, as it is a health and safety issue that affects all clients. If the majority of salons in Nashville don't already use and implement Barbicide and sterilization practices, they need to. Salon Galleria is not alone in falling short, but they still need to address it.

I honestly hate leaving negative reviews, but I left pretty disappointed with this experience…read more I went in asking for a very minimal cleanup and specifically said not to touch too much on the top because I've been growing my hair out for the last 6 months. Unfortunately, way more length got taken off than I wanted. It basically feels like I'm back in the awkward in-between growing stage again instead of just getting a fresh cleanup. I'll also be honest and say I should've probably spoken up more during the haircut, but I'm not really confrontational and at the time I was trying to trust the process. Once I got home, styled it myself, and looked at it properly, I realized one side was noticeably longer than the other too. They did offer to fix it afterward, which I appreciate, but the problem wasn't really something that could just be corrected because too much hair had already been cut off at that point. The other thing that honestly threw me off was the pricing situation. I was quoted $50-$70 on the phone, but ended up being charged $85 before tax and tip. Later I was told it was an accidental overcharge. Maybe it genuinely was, but combined with everything else, it just made the whole experience feel a bit off to me. I'm sure some people have had great experiences here, but unfortunately this one just wasn't for me.
