The stylist finished cutting my hair in less than 10 minutes which in my opinion is very short since you spend so much time and effort growing your hair. The end result was decent enough though. The part that I am very unhappy about is the styling. I would have expected a bit of blow drying or combing before trying to curl the hair since I do have thick hair and in some parts it's frizzy. But instead the stylist only grabbed chunks of my hair and curled it (again without even using a comb). Of course this way the end result does not have enough volume and it's frizzy. Besides, when I got home after 20 minutes of driving most of the curls were gone as you can see in the photo. Furthermore, the stylist did not give me a chance to take a look at the back of hair and possibly express any dissatisfaction. P.S. The only thing that I'm totally happy about is that I called and they gave me an appointment the same day. UPDATE: Initially I gave a 4-star review but I am changing it to a 2-star review. The curls completely worn off 1 hour into the party and I ended up with unruly even more frizzy than usual hair because of all that heat my hair received without any heat protection. If I hadn't counted on the right-out-from-the-salon hair I would have at least straightened my hair! read more

After years of high quality hair cuts/color from Franklin stylist that unfortunately came with regular late starts and unnecessarily long highlighting, my sister steered me to Shelby at Imagine. So happy she did! For more than a year, Shelby has been ready on time and usually early, does amazing highlighting on my hair, and has even offered free bang trims if I needed between cuts. I haven't been able to squeeze in that bang offer with work schedule yet appreciate it all the same. The place is convenient, comfortable, has parking, and has been good with a late cancelation (week of cut) when I needed to do so. Pricing is in line with the market and the time needed for a cut or highlighting/cut is within reason. I am grateful to have Shelby as my stylist. The only thing I could think of to improve would be availability on Saturday, yet with Shelby working quite late many nights, I can make M-F work. I am so excited that I have found a hair stylist!! Haley did my hair today and did a fantastic job! I got a color and cut and style and I love it! I usually dread going in and getting my hair done. She didn't turn my hair purple (which has happened several times at past hair salons) and she was very personable. The best part is that she had me in and out in under 2 hours!!! I went to Kelly and granted she is very sweet and did a good cut.. the color however is not at all what I asked for. I asked for darkest brown with blue undertones and absolutely no red. And it turned out almost dark brown with red in my roots only. It actually looks like my roots are still out grown because they are light and then it turns dark the rest of my hair. Which as never happened to me once. No matter how grown out my roots are. She was super nice and friendly and she did a good job just the color wasn't what I wanted at all. But I still recommend her. I think maybe she got distracted and just forgot about the no red and blue undertones. It's just hair so no big deal. And the cut was great, very pretty I loved it. After frequenting another salon for a while, I decided to take a leap of faith on a new place. I saw Groupons come and go for several places, but the Scoutmob for Imagine Design Team finally drew me in. I'm so happy I took a chance! Haley was great--we chatted a bit before the shampoo so she could get a feel for what I was looking for. I basically left my head in her hands and said she could do whatever she thought would look good--she was the professional, right? After a ridiculously relaxing shampoo--I could have taken a nap at that shampoo bowl--she set to work. Though I only had a cut & style, she was efficient without making me feel like she was rushing. I got my hair cut here yesterday for the first time, and I LOVED it! First of all....they serve beer and wine. So I automatically fell in love with the place. Also, the prices are extremely reasonable and they seem to have a lot of coupons and deals available. Good deals too, like 50% off (Scoutmob). And when I left, I was given 2 vouchers for 50% off hair cuts. The salon is located in Berry Hill across from 100 Oaks. Was looking for a new hairstylist in the Nashville area and came across Imagine on Yelp actually. I was scheduled for a haircut with Kelly, and she did an amazing job! I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to get down, and kelly was patient and helped me come to a decision. She did an A-line for me, and it's probably the best one I've had done (had it done about 4 different times in the past). I had such a good experience today that I felt compelled to get an account on yelp. Seriously! I went in for a full leg wax and Brazilian. I had never had anything, not even an eyebrow, waxed before, but you know-- go big or go home. Before I get to my actual wax, however, let me mention the reception staff. When I called to reschedule my appointment, they were completely accommodating and didn't treat me like a nuisance or a hassle. The receptionist was also warm and welcoming to me when I came in, even though the salon is very nice and I was dressed in sweatpants and a slept-in ponytail, clearly not your average moneybags Green Hills client (no offense meant!). She didn't treat me any different than she treated the well-dressed and made up clients who came in after me, which says a lot. Several different staff members offered me complimentary drinks, snacks, and magazines. I felt comfortable and as relaxed as possible considering I was about to have all my hair ripped off. As for my actual waxing, it was the best first experience anyone could have. Of course it wasn't painless, but I honestly wouldn't say it was painful either (except a couple of strips on the Brazilian, but even those only caused me to flinch a little). The facilities were clean, the wax fresh, etc. Best of all, Elizabeth was fast and thorough. She chatted with me to keep me at ease and even though I know it's part of her job, it didn't feel like the forced small talk like I so often experience with hair stylists. I used a Scoutmob deal and got an excellent price ($59 for a full leg wax and Brazilian!), but even without the deal their prices are reasonable. If you go (and I really recommend that you do!), don't forget to tip your waxer! read more

I can't say enough great things about Haley! I have thick curly hair and NO ONE has been able to cut it like she can! I'm pretty awful at styling my own hair but because of the cut, my hair looks good any way I choose to wear it. Before, I feel like my haircut was based on one style. Now, my ponytails like cuter, I can wear my hair curly and it doesn't just look like a rat's nest, and it sits so much better when straightened. I went to Imagine Design Team after reading a lot of good reviews and being desperate to have my hair fixed. I booked an appointment with Amber and went in with my fingers crossed. Amber and I discussed what I was looking for and she had no hesitation helping! We talked through cut and color, and she enthusiastically listened and offered suggestions even after I mentioned that I have a sensitivity to hair color. I casually mentioned that I always wanted some purple in my hair but was never brave enough, and she was even game for giving me a few spots of purple. As wierd as it sounds...I'm salon phobic! In the past I have found some places to be pushy, hurried, and intimidating. But not here! I went yesterday to use a Scout Mob coupon. Walked in the door and because of a temporary lull in clients most of the staff were in the lobby area. Everyone greeted me kindly and said they were the welcoming committee. I first had a wax with Elisabeth - AMAZING! She did beautiful things for my brows and I told her my brows have a new best friend! Then I had a wash (omg the head massage!) and cut with Melanie. She was so helpful in guiding me to a great cut (6+inches gone). She was informative and friendly and suggested ways to style my hair but didn't pressure me to buy any particular products. Eh I'm honestly not a huge fan. But this review is for a brazilian wax and a shellac manicure only. I bought one of those groupon things online. Even though the deal for the price was a good deal, my experience there didn't end up being as good as I thought. I got the brazilian wax and the manicure. The wax itself was ok. I experienced a little more pain than I have in the past with other waxers. And I discovered later that there were a few hairs still remaining in some spots. The manicure itself turned out ok, but I don't think that my nails were shaped that well. Because it was shellac, the polish stayed on longer but It wasn't an even layer of polish (there were some places that were lighter than the other spaces on the nail). The nail person doing my nail also wasn't a certified nail technician which I found out evidently doesn't matter. I just feel like I've had better. For $5 manicures in Manhattan I've had better service done to my nails. I'm also not a big fan of talking during my salon appointments. I just want to get in and get my stuff done, which is what I'm used to in New York City. However, that was definitely not the case here. I guess some customers will appreciate it. Honestly, I felt that it wasn't really worth it for the deal money. like I said, I've gotten less than $20 shellac manicures done in new york that were cheaper and better than the one I got here. and same goes for the wax. The nice thing about the groupon is that in the terms, it said you had to book both at the same time. They did let me book the wax first and then the manicure a week later. They also offered to take my shellac polish off when I returned from vacation 2 weeks later (complimentary). I didn't take the offer but hopefully yall can ask for it in the future! read more

I've been long searching for a salon to become my one and only. With the amount of highly rated yelp reviews, I'm surprised I didn't find this place sooner! I called to make an appointment and they had me in a week later. I'm very attached to my long, plain, boring hair that was in dire need of some help. Amber was my stylist and she helped bring it back to life, after chopping off some dead ends and offering my hair more movement and texture. The salon is in a cute little house in Berry Hill, is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. I enjoyed my experience and am only taking off one star for the fact that this place is pricey, even with my yelp deal. In turn, though, you get what you pay for! Great place. read more

This is my first haircut since being in Nashville and it was a great experience! I was impressed that the salon emailed me a confirmation of my appointment a few days before. It helped me remember and it also put me at ease that I wouldn't be double booked or forgotten! Gene was so friendly, he took my coat, offered me and my boyfriend a drink, and made us feel right at home. Shelby was ready for my appointment and actually spent a full hour on my hair because it is so thick. She listened to me and I was impressed that she didn't rush me out the door. I have been to other salons that either don't give you the time/attention your hair requires or they do but they are visibly stressed that it is taking so long. I felt completely relaxed and I was actually able to enjoy having my hair cut! I think it was in the range of $35 (before tip), which is a great deal. Great salon! Came to Haley to fix a growing out, disaster of a previous cut from another salon and she was wonderful. She gave me great advice on how to best transition, and took the time to do a very precise cut into a long bob. I left looking polished and able to wear my hair down again for the first time in 8 weeks! Haley is super cute and personable to talk to during the appointment, and her pricing is very reasonable.
