I first saw her for a cut, french layers and weight removal -- and had such a great experience that I decided to book a color appointment next. Jordyn took the time to have a thoughtful conversation about what I wanted and recommended a "milk chocolate brown" with highlights. I absolutely love how it turned out! Her studio is very clean and organized, and I've gotten constant comments on how much people love my hair color since my appt. Old experience but still valid because this stylist still works here - went here once under…read morereferral because I was in the process of finding a new stylist. What a joke!!! I was referred to Nan. I should have known she was terrible from the unappreciative response I received when I called her to make an appointment. She said, "Um how did you hear about me?" Like she wasn't to be bothered with new clients. Out of desperation, I made an appointment. The place is very so-so and gives you zero feeling whatsoever. But let's talk about Nanette! I was blonde at the time and basically just needed a root touch-up. She was pretty cold and didn't make me feel welcomed in her chair. She started asking me questions about where I went to school and realized I went to high school with a client of hers (I was in college at this point). Sooo then she takes her phone out of her apron and CALLS this person's mother to tell her she's doing her daughter's former classmate's hair. Ummmmmmmm??? So unprofessional. Continues to have about a 10 minute conversation revealing my name (without any consent from me) then leaves after my roots were covered and processing. After the bleach and whatever else was washed out of my hair, Nan told me she had another client and was running late, so I needed to dry my own hair. So I did. And I've never been back there again. Color wasn't the best. Nan sucks.

I couldn't afford to go to my $70 haircut place but my hair looked awful, so a friend recommended Hairvoyant. I was extremely pleased with the way I looked and the haircut held up after I washed it and still looked good. I don't really care about the decor of my hair salon. Sure it's nice to go somewhere that looks like a spa, but it doesn't justify paying twice as much for a haircut, and this is how I feel about Hairvoyant. The decor is basic salon, but the stylists are a cut above the norm.

Editing this to add that I've since found someone new who has confirmed that the application was…read moresloppily and improperly executed. The row was installed too low - on my occipital bone to be exact, too many wefts were placed on the row resulting in damage to my natural hair, AND Kayla didn't even ensure all the wefts were sewn together... Go to Kayla if you want to shell out thousands of dollars over the course of 10 months just to be blocked in the end. For context, my last move-up was sloppy and poorly done (see photo). I have had extensions for over 3 years and have never had this issue so I know I'm not the one to be blamed here. I nicely texted her asking for her input and ultimately was blocked after she admitted her poor application left me with the urgency of needing it to be corrected before my next move-up. Professionalism is clearly not her strong suit. Between her dirty salon suite (consisting of dirty acrylic nails broken off of her finger) and hardly ever taking me on time, I'm now left to figure out a solution as she thinks it's acceptable to block a client without even conducting a proper conversation on the issue. She brags she's from LA but one look at her Instagram showcases her lack of talent. Shame on me for ignoring the multitude of red flags from day one. I'm sure she'll find a way to turn this around on me when I've been nothing but a loyal, generously paying client since May and was the one left inconvenienced. I've shown photos of my hair to multiple stylists now who have confirmed her color matching and technique are awful.

I was lucky enough to find LC when I moved to Nashville from San Francisco 2 years ago. It is…read morealways daunting entrusting someone new with your hair, but from the first time she worked her magic on me I knew I was in the best hands. She is an extremely talented colorist and gives my naturally dark brown hair (which now sadly includes an increasing number of grays) a subtle yet totally transformative boost with a warmer overall base and gorgeous, bright (and never orange!) caramel highlights. She is also a great stylist and gives my longish, very thick hair definition and shape with face-framing layers. Something else I really appreciate is about LC is that she always has suggestions for saving time and money in the long-run by alternating highlights and base color or just doing a few strategically placed highlights every other appointment so I'm not sitting in the salon for 3-4 hours every 6 weeks. She's also very easy to talk to and has a cool, calm energy. In short, LC is the most detail-oriented and professional colorist/stylist I've ever worked with and I've gone to some of the top salons in S.F. and L.A. I can't recommend her enough!
