I randomly found Helen by googling "Curly hair Nashville"…read more I was growing out an old straightening treatment for 1.5 years and the time had come to chop off the last straight pieces so I could finally wear it down. (Let me add that I also used no heat and less shampoo/more conditioner during this process to prepare for healthy curls). She knew exactly how to cut it to make it look its best. I was scared to have shorter hair with curls, but it's never looked better. She cut it wet, put me under the heater, and then cut it again dry to make sure it was perfect. Thank you Helen!

Best Hair Dresser Nashville - Shawn Morris at Imagine Design Team!…read more When I first got to Nashville a year ago, I was also in transition from having self dyed black hair for years. I was kinda scared to be honest to go to a hair dresser again. My hair grows fast and I'm going grey now... ack what to do? I wanted to find a nice and good hairdresser in a town I'd just moved to. Luckily I found Shawn. She's so lovely and is a specialist at color. She fixed things in my first visit so I was super happy AND she didn't make me feel bad at my own attempts at coloring my hair. I'm so happy with her and she is just super nice and makes the whole experience easy and lovely.

It's hat season anyways. The hair cut looks wonderful when I do the curls but I want to wear my hair down and not have to use hot tools (did you know it damages it?) on my hair to make it look good. I texted and he told me to make an appointment at the salon, no fuzz no trouble so I liked that. I still have to go back but I think I will just "cut my losses". Definitely not $50 worth. I honestly would of had a better hair cut at the school for $15. I came here because someone I know had "the best hair cut ever" and he was quite disappointed with his as well that day. The place it's crowded and not very organized inside. They definitely could use some upgrades. They do have a private parking lot so parking is easy, specially around 100 Oaks area. They are right in between Calypso Cafe and Firehouse Subs. Definitely come with caution. You've been warned. The 3 stars are for his customer service and not for the hair cut. He was more like a 10 star on personality honestly.

I paid with a $50 bill. She gave me $5 back. I immediately stated I had given her a $50 bill. She said it was a $20. There was nothing I could do. I am positive it was a $50 bill. I only had the one bill in my travel small purse and it was a $50 as I originally had paid my dog sitter before I left town $250 all in $50's and saved the last one for the trip, thinking with my credit card it would be enough. I had wandered away as she processed the payment at some items on a shelf. I'm sure she put the bill under others and then robbed me by telling me she did not have a $50 visible on top in her drawer. Just always use a credit card here or the hair stylist with the blond hair - who's lived in TN for 19 yrs. she stated will rob you.

She gave me some of the best haircuts (and blow outs) I've ever had, so when we coincidentally moved back to Nashville around the same time, I was thrilled to be able to continue seeing her. Her haircuts grow out beautifully (can't tell you how many compliments I get). As someone with thick hair, I love the movement and life she brings to every cut. One of the things I appreciate most is that she just gets it--I never have to explain what I want. She always knows exactly what to do!
