This review is long overdue. I've been enjoying cupcakes from this bakery for years. It's a no frills bakery that consistently deliver quality. I purchased 4 dozen cupcakes recently and they were a huge hit. I ordered some marble and multiple specialty flavors including Godiva chocolate, Red velvet, White velvet, and Lemon classic. There were roughly 35 guests & 48 cupcakes disappeared within 20 minutes!! My red velvet cupcake was amazing & everyone enjoyed the others. During a previous celebration I tried the mocha cupcake and strawberries & cream. Freshness and flavor are always top tier. The owner of the bakery called to ensure I arrived in time to retrieve my order and helped me load it into my truck. Excellent service with a smile! read more

Came in shortly after moving down here. Not a long walk from the house at all. Always smelled sweet flavors and knew it had to be from here. It did not disappoint! We grabbed 3 cupcakes and 2 pastries for around 13$. We got to try the red velvet, double chocolate, and the chocolate raspberry cupcakes. All 3 of them hit the spot. We love Michelle's Cakes!!! I wanted a cute cake for my daughter's 14th birthday. Sent in a picture of a letter cake that we saw online and told them her favorite color is green...they turned it in to the most gorgeous cake I've ever seen! I ate all of the macarons and my daughter grabbed all of white chocolate glitter balls. The cake itself was so moist and rich. The icing is super sweet! All of the kids at her party loved it! The small round cake held a green glitter "14" sign. When we picked up the cake I had my son with me and he made sure we grabbed a couple cupcakes and mini cinnamon rolls to "hold us over" until we could get to the cake. I drop in as often as I can to pick up something for desert. The ladies in the shop are friendly and the treats are yummy. I love walking in and being able to see them in the back making and decorating cakes. The cheesecake is one of my go to items. I tried the butter pecan cupcake and was pleasantly surprised. It was loaded with pecans and didn't have that artificial taste. I have not been disappointed with any of the items I have tried. Because they are closed Sunday - Tuesday, I pick up enough on Friday or Saturday to last me through to Wednesday. I went in one day looking for a very specific cake, unfortunately, it is an item not on their menu. However, they suggested a few places for me to check out. However, it's a dessert shop instead. Michelle usually takes cake orders for all kinds of events and occasions, but she does have a storefront where you can buy cupcakes made daily (and the menu rotates). Outside, you can sit on benches on the front porch. My daughter and I had a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting. I am sure the cakes are great, but the cupcakes were just okay. I trusted Michelle's cakes to provide a service for a very important part of my life. The cupcakes were really moist and freshly made. The only problem we had was the lack of icing on the cakes. For the $2.50/cupcake you'd think you'd get a little more. Other than that they were great. It does make me hesitant to buy a custom cake because I'd be afraid there would only be minimal icing (which everyone knows is the best part of the cake). Both the service and the cake were extraordinary! Once again Michelle's has listened and delivered. When I told Michelle of the surprise party for my wife, she listened to the details and asked questions in order to create the perfect cake. And because she heard me mention "surprise" Michelle attached lightweight paper over the top of the box to seal the small areas around the fold of the box. It helped keep my wife's curiosity at bay. My wife and the guest were very much surprised when I had opened the box and displayed the cake. Michelle remembered my wife's favorite flavor (strawberries and cream) which was bottom layer and she also thoughtfully did top layer in vanilla to allow those with a more simple palate to enjoy the celebration as well. read more
