Well I really wanted this to work. I needed to reframe and RE-mat two prints . I haven't had it done in years. I was hoping for the 50-75 range max and it was over 125 for the first one. I am so impressed by the level of service at this store. I needed new glass for a picture - it was an old navy picture of my 89 year old Dad's which was broken in our recent move. I'm not very crafty but had a small project to make for work. Went to the Michael's website and found everything I thought I'd need. Ordering was easy. There also was a promo code to save a few bucks. Submitted my order to pick up the next day at the Oracle store. Got the email confirming my order. Five minutes later I receive an email saying my order was CANCELLED! "We're sorry, but we've cancelled this order due to unusual activity within the order." Unusual activity??? What a crock. I wasted all that time for nothing and now I have to start all over again at a different store. This was my first time ordering from Michael's and it will definitely be my last. read more

This is not a bad location. The store was well stocked, clean, and although the prices were a lot higher in comparison to online (like all other locations), the satisfaction of buying from the store so you can examine items in person and immediately have it in your hands afterwards is palpable. The customer service here was OK. It is still slow, but that's because this is a popular destination on the weekend. Items seem to be persistently on sale at this Michaels location. And it seems to have a decent range of frames with a sizable scrapbooking section. Seriously, rows upon rows of binders and something like two or three aisles full of stickers and other sticky things. I found the wedding, graduation and travel sticker section to be quite the joy to peruse. Nice selection of yarns, too! I do enjoy Jo-Ann for the extensive yarn collection when I am working on crochet projects, but I have found that I am more appreciative of the price points and also the colors in primary that you can easily find at Michaels. You will also find a decent selection of canvas frames (always on sale) and crafting books for knitting, crocheting and the like. At this particular location, staff can be a challenge to hunt down but, when you find an associate, they tend to be uber helpful with finding items and making suggestions to help with a project. And I appreciate that it is right across the way from Target, just in case I need to try and combine my errands. read more

Well, I officially live in Michaels since taking up painting, so I suppose I'll review this location. I generally shop at the Broadway store more, so maybe I'm more used to it and comfortable there, but I like it a lot better. The Oracle location seems smaller, and more cramped. The aisles are thin and short, and packed with items (in the Fine Art section, anyway). Except for canvases and brushes. They don't have a lot of any size/quality canvas. It seems like they have less brush options, and the varieties they have never seem stocked with inventory. Though, their brushes are usually in better shape than Broadway's stock of brushes. And their supply of painting mediums is usually pretty well stocked, too. The employees here are nice and they're always around to answer questions. Check-out is usually pretty speedy. And Michaels ALWAYS has sales and coupons. I'm pretty sure there's absolutely no reason to ever spend full price on anything in the store. Their parking lot though...geez. It's awkwardly arranged, but what's worse is that we are almost always approached by someone who appears to be inebriated in some fashion. This is pretty common in Tucson, but it's a consistent problem in this parking lot, and the individuals that hang out here seem to be a lot more sketchy than is "normal." I wanted to get some felt to put on the back of a keyboard and some spray mount at 12:30 this Saturday. Easy, right? The line for cashiers was backed up 20 deep. There was one person who asked if she could help me find anything and I told her I would look around first. I couldn't find anyone to help me once I wanted to ask. Leaving a review for this location mostly because the service here is so excellent. Though they're super busy and regularly build up long lines, the staff here is always quick and ultra friendly when you're checking out. I got caught up chatting and laughing with some of the staff members last week when I visited, and it's always nice to walk out of a business with a smile on your face! 4 stars instead of 5 only because this particular Michaels has a slightly smaller selection than others I've been to in the past. I've visited several times expecting to buy certain things (that I'd bought at other Michaels previously) and been unable to find them. Still a great store though. read more

I'm told that they cannot take my order over the phone and ship the item to me as they do not ship. What the heck? I offered to send them a prepaid shipping label but no one will help me. I've gone to several Michael's in the U.S. and this is probably the messiest one I have ever seen. The entire area for small frames was blocked by two carts of merchandise to be unloaded. No one was actually doing that but the carts were there and you really couldn't see all the frames. I past not one but two employees; no "hi", no "need any help?" Very off-putting. Lastly, nothing puts me off more than employees who shout across the store to each other. And they did. Not coming back to this location. read more

The staff at this store are awful. In fact, the worst I've very experienced anywhere in my lifetime. Went there yesterday and today and got the same treatment. The check out clerk yesterday bullied me and my daughter for refusing to give her my cell number to sign up for rewards. Kept rubbing it in my face that I "could have saved money today.." she kept insisting that I give her the info. Her tone and demeanor were negative and demeaning to my family, especially my young daughter who had to experience this. Today I went to to return something, and to get another clerk to acknowledge you and make eye contact upon walking in was like pulling teeth. When completing the transaction, she acted like having to provide a service was a huge inconvenience to her. I would fire them both and find some staff that are kind and professional. Based on the reviews by others about this store, it's a pattern. You should really think about overhauling the whole store with new staff, or at least those at the checkout counters. read more

I have been trying to learn about airbrush's and airbrush painting as of late, which was turning out to be quite difficult. Luckily though, I finally went to the right place. The sales clerk at this particular Michaels was the very first person I've run across that actually offered legitimate help and knowledge on the matter. I picked up an online order today. Looked in the bag and an item was broke. Called the store and was told they do not do returns. YOU gave me a broken one. I am outside and want a new one. I will get a manager. Waited a few minutes and a Megan comes on the phone. I Explain again what I need. Megan says I am sorry we do not do returns. YOU gave me a broken piece. I have not left curb side and I want either a return or a new item.Megan says Let me get you the new item. Five minutes pass and she comes out and says I am sorry we do not have anymore of that item. I then started to hand her the broken one so I can get a refund and she said I am sorry we cannot take items back.I am NOT paying for this broken piece. Megan said I could come in and talk to a manager. I was told you were a manager by associate on phone. I am almost 68yo and had let my husband use my mask so therefore I do not have one. That is the entire purpose of curbside not to go into the store. I want to be credited for my item . Also good customer service would have been to see if a store close by has the item. read more

Even with a clear cut receipt from an online order but not the receipt WTIH the order because it was on the OUTSIDE of the box and thrown away they returned it as "without a receipt." Implying I could have stolen the products! Another receipt was out of their return time by days and AGAIN they claimed I returned it without a receipt!! I've had mixed experience with Michaels. I don't like how if they're having a sale you can't purchase the product using a coupon (even if you take the coupon off the FULL price rather than sale price). Some items are ALWAYS on sale (like frames), so you could never use a coupon for them. But, I DO like how they have coupons readily available on their website and in various print ads all the time! 40% off a regularly priced item is not bad! I recently stocked up on items for a bachelorette party and after going to Party City, I found that Michaels had an even better selection (who knew!?) and for better prices! I am a frequent customer in Michaels. I constantly have craft projects going on and this is in a good location for me to make quick stops when I need more craft supplies (also right next to Target). Michaels usually has everything, but there are times when something I'm looking for is no where to be found. When I can find a worker in the store, even they have no idea where it is, which can be very frustrating, but they will help you find it. If you rely on a lot of help from employees at this store, don't set your hopes too high because the majority of the time they are no where to be found. Countless times I have wandered throughout the store and never came across a worker. This can be a good or bad thing depending on how much help you want. The store itself must be going through some renovations because there are times when it seems everything is piled into a certain area with almost nothing in the other area. With this, however, comes lots of sales so usually you can find things you need pretty cheap. Aside from the negatives, this store offers a lot that most stores in Tucson don't offer. They don't sell material by the yard, so don't expect to find that here. The variety of products is nice and when you can find a worker, they are usually helpful even if they can't find what you are looking for. I come back to this store because I know if I have the time I can find what I'm looking for and some good deals. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE !! I had the most disgusting experience at this store. I was RACIALLY PROFILED by one of the employees. I walked in the store and the lady looked me up and down in a very rude way and then continued to follow me around the store. I first thought it was a coincidence that she walked in the same aisle as me so I moved around to see if she thought I was shift lifting and continue to follow me all around to the same spot I started at. Dude this is really a place that completely overwhelms me with all the silk flowers and random crafty stuff. I was at Target and needed to get sticky Velcro, and Michael's was right there. The mere prospect of going through the door sends my heart racing(not in a good way). I walked in the door and immediately the music from psycho shower stabbing scene was in my head. My first thought is to run run run, not like Duran Duran but more like the slasher movie, where you are yelling at the screen run now don't just stand there. I realized I needed help if I was going to make it out alive, so peering around the floral displays and up and down the isles of ribbons, buttons and what not I found help. This guy was lie a life raft in the middle of a sea curesedness. He did not just say it's on isle 345 right behind the glue guns. He physically took me to the place I needed to go, of which I could never have found on my own. I grabbed my Velcro thanked him profusely and went to check out. This was not an easy endeavor either a long wait with miscellaneous items hitting me in the head from other peoples baskets, (I think one was a palm tree). Checked out and ran out. You might think I would completely never go back, but when you need that crafty stuff you need it like a crack head needs Ding Dongs. read more

Poor customer service. Pushed a help button and no associate came to help, waited around for 5 minutes. Items were mislabeled in wrong areas (over paid for an item that was in spot a clearly labeled a lower priced item). Discounts were not clearly labeled (ex. 50% off all Spring/Summer flowers labeled at the end of several aisles but the flowers were not on sale). No organization on several of the shelves so you could not tell what was clearly labeled. I will NOT be returning to this location. read more

The girl who worked in the framing department last night was HORRIBLE!!! I was walking over, pictures in hand (large ones) to get re-framed and she said "sorry, we're closed" my mother asked her what time they close at and she said between 6 and 7pm. I told her, "it's not even 6 o'clock, though". Her response, but I have to do my paperwork. I walked in at 5:45pm and their website said they closed at 7pm and I even called TJ confirm!! She herself said they didn't close until 6 or 7pm. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! It's okay, they lost out on my business. I spent my $$$ at the other Michael's on Ina and Thornydale. Don't go to the Michael's on Oracle and Limberlost -the employees make up their own rules on when it's closing time. Ina and Thornydale is where it's at - way better customer service. This Michael's is a joke. Management should really consider telling their employees that they can't decide when to close. I'll never be returning to this Michael's ever again.
