Games, manipulatives, posters, exercise books, class decorations, toys, etc. etc. etc. It is definitely worth a teacher's (and parent's) time to browse around. [Read the disallowed reviews, too.] 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Yet I've spoken to several people who've requested said discount only to be told it's not good on sale items and then be told that all the items you were buying were on sale. This exact thing happened to me today yet my receipt did not show one discounted item. When I questioned the salesperson about why everything was on sale they commented that they have to be competitive. Well, I think this is a sham. Have you received a discount???

I finished my first class with Shauna and she was an amazing teacher!! Sewing is very confusing to…read moreme, and I am slow to learning new things. I've always wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine, and she lets you bring your own or use one of hers to learn on. She was very helpful and patient with us! I learned a lot and thought the class was really informative. We each left with our own apron that we made in the class, and a better understanding of our machines. I really loved the shop dogs and cat that were there as well! I am excited for my next class! Thank you so much :)

Today I finished Needles and Knots' introductory sewing course and must say I really enjoyed it and…read morelearned a lot! I came into this class pretty much knowing nothing (I had gotten my sewing machine a few months prior and took weeks to get it threaded. When I went to sew the thread bunched up and I gave up!). Shauna was patient with all of our questions and answered thoroughly. I loved the casual feel of the class, I didn't feel pressured to do things perfectly and overall the mood was relaxed. There were four other students in the class and we all laughed together and learned from one another. The classes were once a week for three weeks. We were provided with tools like scissors, pins, bobbins, etc (you can even borrow a sewing machine though it's best to bring your own so you can familiarize yourself with the machine you'll be using outside of class; fabric was not provided). Mondays are "drop in" days where anyone can come in and see - I'm looking forward to checking that out one day! Finished today's class with a beautiful apron that I am SO excited to use. Thanks again for the class, Shauna! Highly recommend this place to anyone learning how to sew or looking to improve their skills.

Lovely and kind quilt shop and community in NE Tucson. They have a great selection of fabrics,…read morenotions, and sewing machines. The staff is just fabulous with helping to choose fabrics, deal with quilting challenges, and figure out the right tools. Their classes are phenomenal. Truly great instructors who are experienced and also gentle with all levels of expertise. The teachers are total gems and super heroes - those classes are such a great value and a great place to make new friends! They have a large and active sit and sew. It's incredibly welcoming and inclusive. Highly recommend this lovely shop. I've really been able to expand my skills and explore new parts of the craft due to the help and support I've received at Cactus Quilts.
