Gift wrap

I love this store ! I get jellycats and Sonny angels here. This time I went for a gift for my niece and wanted it to be tucson themed. They had a javelina and the javelina children's book. They gift wrap for free and it was the perfect gift for our out of state niece. The staff are friendly and there's an excellent assortment for all ages.

My go-to spot anytime I'm looking for a truly special gift for someone young. Mildred & Dildred has the best selection of books, toys, and little nostalgic knick knacks that are so fun. Everything is so neatly organized and easy to find. I'd much rather spend my money here than any big box store, because of the quality of the items they stock! Best part is the cute gift bags or custom wrapping if you're giving something as a gift!

This is a well stocked toy store that we Hoped had socks for gift ideas. They did, but just one rack. So many Toys, games and stuffed animals.

Mildred and Dildred is my go-to place for gift shopping for my nieces and any other child for whom I've had to buy presents. They've curated a fantastic collection of fun and educational toys, books and more. They have a fantastic selection of stuffed animals and plush toys, and gifts for every price point., which I love. The staff is always friendly, and the free gift wrapping option is a nice bonus. This store is a true Tucson gem and we're so lucky to have it in our city.

Need to update this as they have moved to Swan Ave. into their very own brick and mortar. It looks like it used to be a house, but it is really well done and very cute. They have lots more space, which means lots more inventory. They have such great stuff, I could plunk down several thousand dollars easily buying stuff. It makes it more difficult not to spend because we now have four granddaughters, and who doesn't like to spoil their grandkids? Really, today we spent three digits on Christmas presents. Look, the stuff they have that's also on some online stores, like the one with a big smile on their boxes and delivery trucks? Mildred & Dildred's prices are competitive. I've found many items that are the same price or maybe even a tad cheaper. Yeah, a few items might be a hair more expensive, but I would waaaaaaaaaaay rather support a local business that is so good than send my money elsewhere. I also love the fact that you can actually see the stuff, put it in your hands (or at least the package), read about it, or have one of the employees tell you about it. The employees are super friendly (Well, they work at a TOY store!) and are super helpful. Look, most of the employees there have been there awhile. One has been there for 15 years! Another for 5, and so on. They know their toys and make helpful suggestions for age appropriate toys with the fun appeal. Of course, they carry so much great stuff. You will see in one of my videos, the stuffed animal and book room. So many great books for all ages. You just need to go to the store and take a look around. I love this place! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I just love this little toy shop, it's literally so cute!! Everyone there is really kind too I visit often and always walk out with something whether it be a pack of stickers or a new coloring book!

Best place EVER!!! I will never stop coming here, I buy random things non stop for my son and we end up spending hours together having a blast. The whole crew there is amazing and they are great at helping figure out the perfect toy for your little or big one! I love the huge variety they have and how beautiful the store is itself, the mural out front is just so eye catching. I could also get lost in their stuffed toy section, they have the best variety I have ever seen in my life!!!! This is the new and improved Mrs. Tiggy winkles toy store. Love it here.

We LOVE visiting Mildred & Dildred! There are so many unique toys and games that you don't find in other stores. There is such a fun selection of fidgets, too! We never know what we are going to find but we always find things that make us smile! Everything is of wonderful quality, and there are price points from 10 cents to fancy-pants. My kids favorite place to spend their allowance.

Great place to get kids toys! They even provide personalized gift wrapping so no need to worry about wrapping it yourself. My daughter picked out all the ribbon colors for them to wrap the toy in and they offer a wide range of toys with reasonable pricing. Highly recommend!

Leaving the toy store happy with a cute, reusable bag

Being new in town, my kids were interested in finding the local toy shop. If you're looking for an old fashioned toy store with high quality toys and amazing service, this is it! My daughter spent time looking through the different sections, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we left with our toys in a beautiful hand stamped brown paper bag. We've been back a couple times now, and the experience is always great. The prices are a little higher than ordering from retail giants online, but shopping local is important to us, and worth paying a little more. The kids also had a really fun time here. Highly recommend this locally owned, old fashioned gem.

Not only is it at La Encantada, but the items are usually hand made and from Germany which equals money.

The prices haven't changed a whole lot since I was little which is nice. I love their book buying program and have existed solely on store credit for years now. I love bringing my old stuff in and shopping while they evaluate it. I live in Oregon now but I make sure to hang on to my credit slips for my next visit. The parking lot is huge but it can still be hard to find a spot on weekends. The store is clean, as are the bathrooms. The people working here are a real delight and are always super friendly and ready to help out with whatever you need. I will always be a Bookmans fan as long as they exist.

Presentation: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Efficiency: 5/5 Customer Service: 5/5 Price: 5/5 As every Tucsonian knows, this is a second hand store that has a LOT to offer everyone. Whether it's a magazine, Fender Stratocaster guitar, 1980's metal cassette tapes, LP's, maybe a graphing calculator?? - puzzles, entire decades of video games and miscellaneous wires and controllers, or even a an odd book mark, THIS is the place! There are ONLY two Bookmans left in Tucson, and even through the pandemic, these places bring in the crowds. Sometimes the prices aren't much of a bargain, so check online if that's important otherwise the inventory if huge here. The customer service is always top notch, today I was looking for a coin collecting book and sure enough, they had it; and knew EXACTLY where, on what shelf it would be all from communication from the counter. The staff are all knowledgeable, you and they offer an Educator's discount of 20% if you're in that line of work and as many may not know, you can Trade in nearly anything there! And while the plethora of people are constantly working those front doors, the lack of general seating is something I don't think the management sees properly. People are always looking for a spot to sit as the store is huge; management, please, seriously take note! Summary: Wonderful place, no drink counter (management..!?) great customer service and a dedicated spot to bring your children and get them interested in books! Would absolutely recommend this place, especially if you're new to Tucson!

Anyways, I stopped in for a journal and found a beautiful blue leather lined journal with a fleur-de-lis on the cover. Then I stumbled across a "part-time" adult daily planner that was undated. Normally I wouldn't go for undated but this one spoke to me. The store is laid out really well and is very spacious. I appreciated the small Hanukkah display that was available. This is where things went a little sideways for me as I looked at the items on display. Two parties have a responsibility here, the buyer, Barnes & Noble, and the supplier, Paper Source. I'm so confused as to why either party believed an ornament was appropriate here. For what? We don't have anything or celebrate for which we would use an ornament. A Hanukkah bush is not a thing. The other thing that confused me was the with challah. Such weird items for Hanukkah. There isn't nor should there be an equivalent for every Christmas item to Hanukkah. They are not the same thing and there is no equivalence. Other than these weird Hanukkah items, if I were in the area again and needed to come back to BN, I would definitely stop in here. And per contract/usual, there was a decent sized Sbux cafe inside the store. One which I will never visit since I do not give my business to Sbux.
