What a magical place! The minute I walked in I was astonished at the variety and amount of books in a relatively smaller store! I was born and raised here in Tucson and I can't believe it's taken me this long to head in. As an educator, I immediately explored the young readers section, and I was very impressed with both the books for sale and the other items for sale. I grabbed a funny cat themed tote bag (priced well!) and found a sci-fi book. The space is welcoming and encourages time exploring and looking at books, which I love! Also, they have a huge collection of used and cheaper books! I felt great about spending my money on a locally, female owned bookstore instead of big corp. Next time you are in need of a book, of any sort, a little gift for someone or a card, pay this fun little business a visit! read more

Lovely indie bookstore with a decent selection of book choices of all genres. In addition to books ( mostly books) they do sell other paper goods (cards, journals etc) and some other gifting items (for self or others) such as tshirts, stickers etc. They also do have a used book section offering a range of affordable prices. This is a small space with a lot yo offer... only thing I miss is some seating while perusing. I am always happy to find bookstores as I am one of those people who like to touch my books when I read and enjoy book art. read more

I love Mostly Books! For a long time I thought it was silly that Bookman's and Mostly Books are next door to each other, but then I realized how perfect it was. If you don't find what you're looking for at one, you go straight down the sidewalk to the next one. I have often found a book at Mostly Books and immediately found the sequel at Bookman's or vice versa. They also have a book subscription service tailored to you and your preferences. I haven't done it but my friend has for a long time and says they choose the perfect books for her niche reading every time. Also the hallways back into the used book section feel magical. read more

I always have a wonderful time visiting Mostly Books! I've done several pre-order campaigns through them, and my books are always ready on time with the correct personalization and any pre-order art/stickers they are advertised to come with. When I've done an order for something they don't have in stock, particularly an indie cover of Morbidly Yours, it came in quickly and was ready for me within two weeks of placing the order. I love their used book program. I bring in books that I'm done reading or don't see myself rereading, and get exchange credit that I can use in store for other used books. This has been great, especially because when I can't find a used copy I'm looking for somewhere else, they've always had it. I like particular covers, and I've never had trouble finding what I'm looking for in their used stacks. Specifically, I was looking for the original cover of Shiver from when I was in middle school, and they were the only ones in town to have it. read more

Mostly Books is my favorite Indie bookstore in Tucson. The service is always excellent and all the wonderful ladies are always happy to help. I visit frequently to wander the used shelves as they also have a great collection and the value of their used books are usually about half of retail price. I came here on indie bookstore day and I can't believe I've never been here before! The staff were so welcoming and there was a great variety of new and used. Book trinkets, cards by local artists and you can trade books in. I was able to get a blind date with a book as part of their special and it was such a fun experience to choose one and open them. I felt the value was great cause they offered deals and had both new and used. I'll definitely be back! read more

Cute local shop with a pretty decent selection! Towards the front you can find new releases and new fiction/YA/non fiction books. I noticed several signed copies spanning a variety of different releases too if that happens to be your thing. Towards the back you can get into some more niche genres and a bulk of their used selections. The woman working was friendly and they are still requiring masks. on may 8th i shopped at this store. it's a locally owned little book etc shop which i go to often. on this day i wasn't happy with the girl who helped me. no smile, no greeting, no personality. not all people are cut out to work with the public and she is one of them. she truly needs to be trained on how to provide excellent customer service. i will go back because i love the store. read more

I found this bookstore through a book club I joined, Brunch Babes Reads. I was delighted! I thought Antigone's was our only independent bookstore in town and how wrong I was. This is another amazing bookstore filled with knowledgeable staff. They have done a wonderful job during a difficult year allowing for online purchases and curbside pickup quickly and efficiently. I love the ability to search on their website to see if they stock a book I want and on top of that how quickly online orders are ready for pickup. I also really appreciate the flyer they give out with orders that lets you know of upcoming hot releases in different genres. I found my favorite book of 2020 from one of their suggestions. Never mind spending my money locally. Even parked next to a jumbo chain store, where my purchase's would no doubt have been WAY LESS expensive. As a stage four cancer victim, occasionally my medications drive me to a foreign bathroom. Rarely, because as a former business owner, people asking to use "our" bathroom was a hassle, will I ever ask to use a private business bathroom facilities. Emergency called here, and all I got was the answer no. Not a viable other solution of any kind. Save your money. Amazon, or the big box stores. These guys will be gone soon. read more

I was very happy to see this location open after all these years, as it is located just a few doors down from Bookmans and I had a feeling that they would be driven out of business. However I went over for a visit, and was happy to see it still thriving. They really have mostly books here, a combination of new and used ones. I prefer coming here rather than Bookmans to get books since the staff are quite knowledgeable about what they have in stock, and can dependably order them for me if/when they do not have them. Mostly Books is awesome! It's really every book-lover's dream. First off, the store is way, way bigger than it looks like it's going to be from the outside. Just keep walking and there will be more rooms full of books. And full of books this entire store is! Books galore! They're on the shelves, they're stacked on the ground, they're on make-shift bookshelves, they're just everywhere! They have new books, but I'm there for the used books. I found it a little bit difficult to determine the new and used sections at a glance (some used books aren't so worn), but after a few minutes of wandering around the store, it was easy enough to basically understand their organizational system in terms of new and used. Their organization of genres is decent, too, but the overflowed books seem to have their own little system within each genre, so don't overlook them! I find the selection at Mostly Books to be better than other used books stores in town. They have some other novelty items at the front of the store that are unique, too. Their prices are ok. The staff was friendly. Overall, I really like this store! Give them a try, especially if you're going to Bookman's next door. It's a short walk to find a ton more inventory! Tip (not Mostly Books' fault): Beware of the parking lot. It gets VERY busy, and when people are fighting for parking spots like their lives depend on it, things can get stressful and hectic. Although the workers are very friendly, I find this book store lacks quality books. If you're looking for romantic paperbacks, you've hit the jackpot here. I suppose we, men, will never understand the attraction of paperback romance novels....( yeah I hear you; don't knock til you've tried it...well I have! 50 shades... and I couldn't finish it... so I can knock it...right?) If you're looking for hardbound classics, it's not likely you will find them here. If you do find your kind of books, though, the prices are likely to be very reasonable. This place doesn't typically allow customers to walk around the store. I went in there and they asked me what I was reading because I just bought something from bookmans and they told me that they didnt really gaf. They just wanted me out of the store. When I inquired further, the cashier started to call the police while they told me that customers had to ask for what they wanted and that I was probably there to rob them. I was very nice. I'm not a hobo and I didnt look suspicious or anything. That's just how they treat people that walk into their store. read more

I get lost in here for hours! There is a huge selection of books of every genre here. I often find the hard to find and rare titles at this shop. The owners/staff are extremely friendly,helpful and knowledgable of the inventory. If they don't have what you're looking for, they'll help you locate it! This location has a wonderful selection of N.A. & A.A. sobriety success markers/trinkets. Large selection of T-shirts, book marks and momentos to browse through. You've seen them on tv. I'm sure..... those bookstores that just have books falling over themselves in a seemingly completely unorganized shuffle of paperbacks under hardcover.... Well. This lil' store's located just a couple stores down from the monolithic Bookmans, fits that bill to the "T".....hardly as humble as it appears from the outside. From the moment I walked in, I was swept away by the sheer size of the place....with books covering nearly every inch of space (and stuffed animals and other odds & ends covering the rest...). I just kept walking towards the back wondering when it would end....and when it did, just off to the right was one extra wing of books...... And they've got it all....New, used, paperback, hardcover, classic, childrens, romance, manga, and EVEVERYTHING in between. It's a mess of books....just the way I like it! I love books more than the average girl and I didn't know this place even existed. When I first walked in here, I was absolutely amazed. Their location may look small, but let me tell you, it's pretty big with books stacked high! Books of all GENRES and types. And it's not just used books that they carry here, they order new books every week. I love Indie bookstores and this one is good. It reminds me a bit of The Green Apple in San Francisco (high praise). A well-chosen selection of new and trending releases up front and a rabbit warren of used books stacked to the ceiling in the back. The folks behind the counter seem to know their stuff and I am intrigued by their book clubs and meditation meetings. (I receive the newsletter, but haven't attended yet.) I was sort of amazed that Mostly Books is a stone's throw from a mammoth Bookman's on Speedway at Wilmot. Hmmm... who was there first? They also have a back room that they allow organizations/meetings to take place. I have always been a fan of cute small local bookstores each with their own special identity and individuality. This little store has a lot of books and gifts inside. They have used as well as new books and a pretty big selection for such a small space. One of my favs about this place is they carry gifts and cards made by local artists too-- another way you can directly support local people from the community. Good parking, easy access, and a fairly Central location. They are right next to Bookman's too so when I feel like going shopping for books and just browsing I have two stores to go into. I'm giving a lower rating due to poor customer service. I tried to overlook it but the owner and a couple of the staff there have been rude to me more than once, which I don't appreciate since I usually go out of my way to support them. read more
