He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. Neal arrived on time, thoroughly assessed the system, and replaced all of the necessary sprinkler heads. There are no frills about this company, for example no website, no written estimate, no written contract, no cell phone contact number... But if you want your trees and bushes trimmed and removed (and even may need the option of stump grinding as we did) for a very reasonable price, I would recommend this company. Miguel gave us his estimate after a walk through the project by writing the cost on the back of his business card. I followed that up with an email to their office outlining my understanding of the scope of work which that price covered to be able to have, in essence, a written contract (just to make sure we were operating from a common understanding of the scope of work). I am a home owner in Sherman Oaks and Michael's card was left at my doorstep like a lot of other advertisements. I am usually skeptical about calling any of these service providers but I went and ahead and decided to give them a call and schedule an appointment for them to come out and give me an estimate to remove a tree on my property. Michael came out and we discussed the scope of work. The price was very reasonable and so I went with them to do the work. OMG!! His crew was so professional and courteous and they cleaned up my property and my neighbors like as if it was there home!! We've used Michael's Tree Care twice now on a rental home we have in Culver City that has 5 very tall eucalyptus trees in the back yard. Please take a moment to read why he truly knocked my socks off: We were working on multiple projects the week we hired Jorge. We had several pallets of crushed rock out front, which is 4 flights of stairs above the back yard where the trees and stump needed to be removed. I was making trips with the crushed rock, and would get to see his work on the trees and stump in the back yard every time I went down. Every so often, he would need to manually walk up to the street level with huge amount of branches on his back, to eventually haul away in his truck. As you'll notice in the last photo I snapped of him, every trip back down, Jorge would grab a 50lb bag on his shoulder and I would be so taken aback, I'd be like "OMG, dude.. no way!" and he would reply with a smile "I'm going down anyways! It's all good!" Only the kindest most generous and amazing men would do such a thing. I appreciated the gesture so much! I will always remember the amazing work he did removing the gigantic stump from our backyard (would've taken me weeks if not months) and it took him a couple hours.. and the trees he cut down, all amazing work! But what really stood out to me, was his gesture of good well, going above and beyond the call of duty, offering.. actually not even offering.. that would be halfway.. he didn't offer.. just just did it.. every trip down he hauled another heavy bag of crushed stone for me, because that's the kind of guy he is. To me, that tells you right there the kind of man Jorge is. You don't get to meet many guys like this in the course of your lifetime. I feel lucky to have had the pleasure. Thank you! Their price was much more reasonable compared to a few other services I had gotten quotes from in the area. He even identified what was a baby magnolia tree growing a foot away from our house and offered to get rid of it for free. Jorge was communicative and arrived on time the day of tree removal. He removed the trees (didn't complain when one took a bit longer than anticipated to remove), cleaned up the surrounding area and also offered to remove several piles of brush/trimmings around the property for free. If you want to support a local business that goes above and beyond, JD Tree Service is the way to go.
