Came here on a Sunday night with a party of 4. We opted for seating at the bar for quicker service. The bar tender was amazing. She was super friendly and on top of everything. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, mozzarella sticks and clam chowder. HOLY CLAMS! I've never had a clam chowder loaded with so many clams!, but it was a tad bit salty. A few beers on tap, a cider and "Rita is a Hottie" spicy margarita. The margarita was okay, but it tasted like a regular margarita and sour mix. She did use the jalapeño tequila, but it wasn't spicy at all.

Sat at the bar and had Fast service and good food! Our Waitress Rose and she was helpful and attentive. Great service here!

Breading from the veal parm

First the fried mozzarella was good, 2nd I ordered the veal parm the breading could have cover 3 veal parms and the cheese and for the service wife order chicken parm eggplant parm came out if you just listen when someone is ordering. also shouldn't tell customer if you know good veal parm your resturant has the best veal parm it probably is in the town of Stockbridge mass i live in the best food state in New England (RI) and have eaten a lot of veal parm in my life and this I wouldn't feed my worst enemy's dog

Love the bar here and their specials are always a win!

Have enjoyed this place across 3 decades - currently enjoy following the daytime bartender on FB to see wicked good drink and food specials - hence knowing I could enjoy a lobster roll while in town last weekend! Bar space is my fav (some ppl need their Keno) and there are 2 dining rooms and an outdoor patio. A pistachio drink, whose name I forgot, was stellar!

Godfrey was our waiter, very attentive and pleasant. He was assisted by servers who brought food from the kitchen. We had identical meals. The black lentil soup (soup of the day) was very good. We shared a wedge salad lettuce with halved cherry tomatoes, bacon bits and chopped fried onions and it was super. I'm not big on dressing as a whole, but it was quite flavorful. We each had the smash burger. It's two thin patties made from sirloin and ribeye coated with cheddar cheese placed on chopped lettuce and tomato, resting on a fresh roll. It was hot and so juicy and delicious. The only drawback for the entire meal was that the fries were over cooked. For dessert my wife had the apple pie with ice cream, I had the brown sugar cake with coffee ice cream. Both simple, yet scrumptious. Overall a delicious meal, it seemed expensive, but we had wine. FYI, we saw others being served the fish and chips (Cod) and it looked great.

"NO, we did not.". luckily, the lady being seated remembered we were here before us and backed me up. I did not feel welcomed in the least. considering this is supposed to be "quintessential new england" and that this would be like sitting in a Norman Rockwell painting, I am extremely disappointed. if this was my first trip to Nee England, I would go home. luckily, I have been other cities and know there are good, friendly people around.

We had wonderful lunch in the main dining room in the Red Lion Inn. Our waiter Matt was very nice! Unfortunately he had the whole dining room and things took time. Other than that we truly enjoyed our lunch. I had the Roast Beef sandwich special which was fantastic! One of the best I have ever had. Not sure it is worth $28 for a small sandwich though. My wife loved her Caprese Sandwich. I had Apple Pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was good... not great. I'd skip it next time. Matt came with the coffee I ordered and said the pie was in the oven so when it finally came out I was expecting a very hot apple pie. That was not the case which was disappointing. Recently my wife and I drove 3.5 hours from Cape Cod to Bernardston to take my elderly sister out to dinner for her birthday. I looked for a nice restaurant where she had never been and settled in The Farm Table on Rte 5 just north of Greenfield. Our experience began as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. The grounds were magnificent and entire property was immaculately kept. Upon our arrival we were struck by the beautifully designed interior, ample spacing of the tables and area rugs on the wooden floor. The furniture was traditional New England style and the vaunted room made you feel you were dining in a historic inn. Soon our server Joe came to greet us and couldn't have been more welcoming or pleasant. He made us feel comfortable and gave us time to visit with each other without pestering us for our order. When our cocktails arrived they each came in carefully selected glasses that were reflective of the motif of the room. Soon we ordered dinner and that's when things got even better! The food was wonderful. The entrées in good time and again the presentation was purposefully planned. Stoneware China, mismatched vintage silverware and quality cloth napkins. The meatloaf/mashed/veg meals my wife and sister enjoyed were outstanding. I wanted to go in the kitchen and ask the chef for his recipe! My chicken was perfectly seasoned and prepared and the homemade rough cut mashed potatoes a perfect pairing. I think you get the point of this review! This dining experience, not such the great food, was well worth the 7 hours of driving! The space, service, presentation, value and of course the food were all outstanding. So often recently we leave a "nice" restaurants after dinner feeling ok/good about the experience. Tuesday night we felt elated. This is what dining out should be like! Bravo and we will be back!

"Profound, Delicious, Perplexing, Mind Boggling, Life-Altering, Magical, and FUN!"…read more Went to Damon Baehrel with friends for my birthday on October 5 of 2019. We had the privilege of just the four of us and Chef Baehrel for a 27-course 7.5 hour experience with fabulous wines and special non-alcoholic juice and sap blends. Damon did it all, and it boggles the mind just what we saw in the service. Our drinks never ran empty, one dish after another came out with such distinct and original flavors, such sublime tastes and smells, seven hours felt like an hour went by. Just one of the courses was a beautifully plated charcuterie dish featuring craft meats and cheeses prepared from scratch by Chef Baehrel. We found Chef to be warm, witty, funny, articulate, intelligent, charming, just one of the greatest hosts imaginable. I've been to a number of three-star Michelin experiences including Noma in Copenhagen and Noma's pop-up in Mexico which Time Magazine referred to as the "...meal of the century." Damon provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience that was equivalent in some ways, but almost on another planet when it comes to his Native Harvest cuisine. It was like watching a magical alchemist, some have said like a visit with Yoda or Willy Wonka. He's been at this for 35 years, and as we were also in the company of a friend and Owner/Chef at our best Italian restaurant in Gainesville, we all marveled from course to course at the experience in this beautiful home. Naysayers be damned, this man and this restaurant and this warm and wonderful presentation would have been worth it for twice the price. It was one of the very few top birthdays of my life. Just what was set up in advance for our engagement boggles the mind - absolutely spotless glasses lined up at the ready, table settings in the front room where we sampled many bite-courses and delicious palate-cleaning little iced slush balls of vegetable, fruit, and sweetness (no sugar, no cream) the endless beautiful presentation plates and unique utensils, the impossibly clean clever details, even the ice came prepared in a variety of ways and in a variety of concoctions - sap, fruits, syrups - just so impressive. The courses range from seafood to meats, cheeses, little bites of heaven on crackers made of pine, a profundity of techniques and methods, sauces so delicious we went in with fingers, and only one person to look to in the end - Chef Damon Baehrel. We felt we left meeting two new friends: The Chef of course, and when we got home, our own back yards that we hadn't given proper consideration to. What wonders there are to be found in nature. I dare say dinner with Damon is in some ways a life-changing event. If you can go, go! We continue to live the experience in our minds, this special time still resonating, and if food is magic, wonder, nature, and heart, this is the man and the place.

Damon Baehrel, which is named after the chef himself, is probably considered the most exclusive restaurant in the world. It is literally a one-man show, as Chef Baehrel is the one who cooks, serves, and hosts a 5-6+ hour-dining experience for his guests at his beautiful home on his 12-acre property in upstate NY. As most know, this restaurant is booked solid until the year 2026, and they have not been taking any reservations/adding parties onto their waiting list since last year/'14 (this is for an indefinite period of time) - you bet your tootin' bootin' that I felt so victorious for bypassing others on the list by 11+ years!!! (Just note that it really doesn't matter 'who' you are, 'who' you know, and/or if you come equipped with a list of multiple referrals.) Known for his 'Native Harvest Cuisine,' every single item on his menu (besides the seafood that is brought fresh from Nova Scotia from his private supplier) is made/created/raised on the premise - when I mean every item, I mean EVERY item, from the flours, pressed oils, vinegars, breads, to the curing his own meats and aging his own cheeses! This restaurant is the epitome and the prime definition of what 'farm-to-table' should really be! We were welcomed warmly from Chef Baehrel, and I was super excited that we were his only guests for the evening - YES, IT WAS JUST THE 3 OF US, THE HUBS, ME, AND THE CHEF!!! (I think I literally sobbed right on the spot). Our super private dining experience was about 5.5+ hours, but actually flew right on by and was like a total dream - we were given a multi-course menu (about 24-26+ items, including some handful of extras since the Chef was just super excited in having us(!!!)), that featured seasonal, organic plants/fruits/vegetables/trees from his property, in addition to a lovely educational overview of each of the ingredients used for the dish. I just couldn't believe at some of the ingredients that he had used, and how each of them had a distinct flavor (and were all actually edible/okay for human consumption!) - it was amazing to listen to the experimentation, the time spent, the punctuality of harvesting such items throughout the year, and the multiple aging/preserving/curing process that he does. I had a lovely wine pairing with the multi-course dinner (delicious champagne, reds, whites, and dessert wines), while the hubs had homemade juice pairings made from the luscious fruits/tree saps (super delicious and refreshing!). The love, the passion, and the excitement from the chef was just purely an eye-opener, and this literally was the BEST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! BELIEVE THE HYPE (of the very few limited ones there are) - Chef Baehrel will change your life and exceed any and all expectations that you may/will have!!! You have to go there to experience it personally, as there are no words to describe such a unique experience - the overwhelming appreciation that you obtain in tasting the raw essence of the ingredients that are found around you was truly truly truly remarkable - Chef Baehrel is a GENIUS! Just note that there is no photography/video/recording equipment/note-taking allowed inside the restaurant, so PLEASE be respectful to the Chef (and, shame on those 'bloggers' who disregard/circumvent around this request/policy!). I cannot wait to go back! :D +BEST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! +Chef Damon Baehrel :D +Native Harvest Cuisine :D +5.5+ dining experience :D +no photography/video/recording equipment allowed inside the restaurant - please be respectful!

The Roosevelt Room in Troy was a great experience from start to finish. I was honestly expecting a standalone building, but it is tucked into a strip mall near HVCC. That said, parking was easy and stress free, which is always a plus. This was our first visit as a party of four, and the service was superb. The attention to detail really stood out and was noticed immediately. Our waitress checked in at the right times, kept drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly as expected. Meals are made to order, so substitutions were no issue at all, and it was nice to see gluten free options available. When you walk in, you pass through a curtain and are immediately greeted by a coat attendant who takes your coats, which instantly gives the place an upscale feel. The ambiance is well done, with soft lighting and nice background music. It is on the smaller side and dimly lit, but that is clearly intentional. The menus actually light up, which was a unique and thoughtful touch that fits the atmosphere perfectly. We had reservations and were seated right away. It did not seem necessary on this particular evening, but I would definitely recommend them on a weekend given the size of the space. The food itself was excellent. Everything we ordered was very tasty, and the presentation across the board was impressive. Desserts are prepared by a pastry chef and were just as good as the rest of the meal. It is definitely on the pricey side, but that is to be expected for the level of service and atmosphere. This feels like a special occasion type of place, and in that context, it is worth every penny. We really enjoyed our night and would absolutely come back. There was also a sign mentioning live jazz on Fridays, which sounds like a great added touch. Overall, a very strong 5 stars.
