You could die of starvation while waiting for service. After a 20 minute wait I asked the hostess if someone could please wait on us. She seemed unconcerned but promised to take care of it. Ten minutes later we're still waiting. If it wasn't pouring rain outside, we'd walk. So about 35 minutes after we entered the restaurant, with about a quarter of the dining room tables vacant, the waitress finally arrived to take our order. The lunch menu is mostly soup, sandwiches, and burgers; we both ordered soup and half sandwiches. Theoretically this shouldn't take too long... It's been an hour and a bit now and still no food. How long does it take to prepare soup and two half sandwiches with no lettuce or tomatoes??? At least there's free WiFi so I can write this review. So an hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived, the waitress finally brought the food. And promptly spilled the soup into my beer. She warned us that the soup was very hot. It wasn't, which makes me wonder how long it had been sitting. I paid the check and we fled into the rain. read more

Sat for an hour and 15 minutes waiting for their Thai Salmon entree. I waited while other diners gave up and left. It finally arrived with oily potatoes and over buttered string beans. And the salmon was cold inside. No one in this establishment knows how to cook. Frantic server was apologetic but even after repeated requests couldn't find her way to bringing a piece of bread during the wait. Stay away from his place! read more

Michael's - Greasy. Uk! - American Near Me - Stockbridge, Massachusetts

Grilled chicken sandwich is dry, ribeye meat is tough, and a $2.50 up charge for gluten free roll.

If you aren't a local, don't bother. My wife and I stopped in for a drink, before a show at Tanglewood and were treated rudely by the bartender. We also got strange looks from the all-local group at the bar. Since their posted weekend hours said they were open too 1am, we stopped by after the show, around 11, to find about 8 people at the bar yet the bartender said they were closed. Bathrooms and patio were dirty too. read more

Stopped in for drinks with 9 friends the other evening. So tough to get the bartenders attention, we left. 9 people x 2-3 drinks (and good tippers too). Your lunch as, Michael's!! read more

To keep it simple, the food wasn't good. Our chicken wrap was undercooked. The veggie wrap was basically filled with ice berg lettuce and honey mustard. Service was fast. read more

Planned trip for dinner despite reading all the negative reviews. We were promptly greeted when we arrived and seated. Very few guests in the dining room when we arrived and didn't seem to grow during our stay. Drinks arrived quickly and after a few minutes we placed our order. Basket of bread was offered by our waiter while we waited. Food arrived promptly, was hot and looked appealing. Proportions were excellent and food was delicious. Would definitely return. read more

I went to Michaels to play billiard on the 6th of September 2014, at 9:20pm the cue ball got stuck so i asked three employes to help, after waiting half an hour no one came up to free the ball. And to make maters worse the Jukebox freezes and shuts down very often. Do not expect any help from the employs they are slow and incompetent. Complete waste of money and time! read more

Blech. We stopped here, hoping for a decent midday bite as we made our way up through the Berkshires toward Vermont. The food had practically no taste, the service was next to nonexistent (it took forever to get anyone to even bring water to our table, let alone ask us what we were ordering), and the entire clientele was geriatric. I'm sure there are better places nearby-- it's the Berkshires, for cryin' out loud! I would say, steer clear of this place. It's not worth the time or money. read more

Dirty- out dated- unkept- for a place that has a guaranteed-to-make-lots-of-money location, they sure don't capitalize on the gem location!!! With a complete make-over, Michael's could be a real money maker (Hello, Jon Taffer?) Unfortunately, besides the location, the place is simply a glorified bar with food you would expect to find in some small town which only has one or two minorities and not a whole lot of dentists. The food is ok. The physical bar is a joke. The bathrooms are nasty. The people are friendly enough. Just don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. read more

Nice place to have lunch. The chili was very hearty with melted cheese on top. Cobb Salad was very nice with a huge piece of grilled chicken. Service was friendly. read more

Great crispy onion rings and fries, well done sandwiches. Would definitely come back.

As a part of 5, we waited over 45 minutes, we had to ask 3 times where are good was. We watched people around us get get their food. The waitress finally came over and told us that there was a back up on the line. We asked to speak to a manager or the person in charge, which there was none. There were people in our party with medical problem. Do Not eat here!!!! read more

This place was pretty good for an unsuspecting restaurant. From the outside, I thought this was a gourmet restaurant, with expensive food. But the menu proved me otherwise. For lunch, they basically just have sandwiches, burgers, and a few small dinner plates. The dinner menu is more elaborate. We were the first customers in the dining room, but it wasn't crowded for the lunch service. The prices range from $6 for a tuna sandwich to about $11 for gourmet burgers. Service was very nice, not extremely professional, but respectful and quick. We had ordered the clam chowder, which was surprisingly really good. It wasn't creamy by any means, but there was an abundance of perfect clams. The broth had a nice taste. For our meals, we had a burger with onion rings, a chicken parm sandwich, and a chicken and bacon sandwich with Cape Cod potato chips. The burger was excellent, perfectly cooked, juicy, and tasty. The onion rings were okay, but weren't worth the extra charge. The chicken parm sandwich was quite small, but the fries were a great additive. The chicken and bacon sandwich was creative and quite good. Overall, a pleasant place for a family meal or a place to get a decent sandwich fast. read more

This place is probably short in staff. We (4 people) waited more than 45 minutes for our sandwiches and wraps, and no one came to refill our water unless we asked for it. When we asked for the check, it took them another 15 minutes. I only saw 3 or 4 waitresses running around the whole restaurant, they should really hire more people. read more

Hey now! We ate in the bar area of Michael's and were very happy. Janeen was a great waitress. The food was delicious (bar food: buffalo chick wrap and a burger with fries). We have been eating at Red Lion 24/7 so this was a highly welcomed change of pace. Good vibes and good food at Michael's. read more

The following represents my experience of eating at this restaurant. You're experience may differ, although that would surprise me. Overall rating = 1 Star Service = 0 Stars (could I give negative stars?) Length of time to serve = 0 Stars Quality of Food once it arrived = 3.5 Stars Absolutely the worst dining experience I have had to date. We were seated right away and the length of time until the server came over and took our order was "ok". Seemed a little slow but not alarmingly so. However, that was the end of our service for all intents and purposes. 30 minutes later, we have not seen out server at all. Not just at our table but anywhere. We noticed 5 tables that were seated after us had received their meals and our meals were not complex. We flagged down a different server and asked if there was a problem with our order. She said she would look into it. 10 minutes later that server came back and we asked her if she had seen our server. She said she had and that unfortunately our order wasn't even placed. 5 minutes later our server came out and apologized for the delay but laid the blame all on the kitchen. First of all, a different server just told us SHE forgot to place our order, and second, regardless of if it had been the kitchen, do you think if our server had made an appearance maybe a few times she might have enquired as to our order at some point? Then our food came out. My mom had a BLT but there was no mayo on it. She asked our server about it who commented she would be right back with some mayo to put on it. We never saw her again. Ever. We finally had to get our check from someone else. And then after waiting a long time for someone to pick up the credit card, we just opted to go to the register area and get someone to ring us up. I left a 0% tip. Nada. Zilch. She deserved nothing. In fact, it would have been appropriate after such awful server for them to maybe even knock off something from the tab, maybe for the lack of service. Maybe for the bad meal my mom had. The food quality once it arrived 10 years later was ok except for my moms BLT. Nothing to rave about but certainly not bad. But not worth ever putting up with the worst service you will ever experience in your life. Eat here at your peril. Peril to your time and patience. read more

My favorite thing to order is Cajun chicken Alfredo! The portions are crazy and it comes with warm bread. The burgers are tasty as well and I prefer the waffle fries over the regular fries. The menu could use some updating... I enjoy coming here for karaoke, too! They have a burger night which is worth the price! They are renovating the whole bar area right now and I'm excited to see the final result! read more

We stoped In to Michaels on a locals suggestion.. My Wife and had a cheese burgers for lunch.. Awsome burger cooked to order and a Fantastic flavor. Beer was COLD waiter was very good. Had carrot cake for dessert with coffee.. Both were excellent... If we ever come back to Stockbridge, we will certainly come back to Michaels for our food. read more

Food on the low end of mediocre. Service the same. Good location and nice enough staff but I won't return.

The Ruben sandwich was an open face sandwich that takes getting used to. It's a high portion best for two people.

Ate in the dining room on a Saturday night, we were the only ones there which was nice and quiet. The server was good except she gave us our salad and a few minutes later the entree came out. We had steak and chicken parmigiana a little to much cheese on the chicken but good. The prices are more reasonable than Red lion inn. Would eat there again. read more

The food was pretty good, but not fantastic. The entree portions were huge - easily enough to share without you or your date going hungry. The service was poor, though: our server never checked to see how our food was, and disappeared for long stretches - we ended up asking the busboy to refill drinks, the hostess for the check, and the busboy (again) to run our card. read more

Sam was an excellent server. Very attentive. Food was good despite the negative reviews. Sam, thank you for your smile and good menu suggestions. They were all on point. read more

Expectations exceeded!!! What a cozy place to enjoy lunch. The food at Michaels, though a touch $$$, was excellent. We cannot day enough good things about the dishes we ordered, including the carrot cake and ultimate chocolate cake. To make it a phenomenal lunch we had the best service, EVER from our waitress, Samantha. She made sure everything was fabulous for us and our 6 year old and 1 year old grandchildren. We highly recommend Michael's read more

In town to enjoy the fall foliage + stopped in for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal + very pleasant service! The seafood pasta was excellent with a generous serving of scallops + shrimp and the rosemary tilapia was very flavorful. Our dinner salads were equally good ... crisp + tasty. My wife and I ate their last night. She had Tuscan Chicken and I had Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. Both meals were excellent. I also had a bowl of onion soup which was very good. My wife had a slice of carrot cake for desert and it was excellent as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I would go there again and recommend you try it if you are in the area. read more

Nada, eh eh, yuck, and, finally, crapolla if eating in the bar area booths. Bar area clientele, if those of local flavor, are quite a crew... Filthy, vulgar, vocally disgusting... And probably unable to comprehend their offensiveness. Could have the barkeep provided some propriety with those on the stools??? Someone must own stock in a salt mine.... What should have been meatballs, evolved into salt balls. Sodium content was stroke able. However, waitstaff was pretty good. read more

In town to stay at Red Lion and go to Norman Rockwell Museum, stumbled upon this place and was quite pleased. Great beer selection and huge variety of foods - my dad got the swordfish that he loved while I had the Michaels chipped chicken salad which was excellent - French onion soup was also delicious - slightly pricey and my dads side dishes served with the fish were cold (he probably wouldn't have eaten them anyway) but other than that it was a great! read more

Inexpensive food and drinks, pool tables upstairs away from the general bustle. Easily the best deal you're going to get in Stockbridge. Caters more to locals and families than the more touristy, expensive restaurants in town. read more

We are guests at the Red Lion every December for three nights. At least one of those evenings we always dine at Michael's and have found it to be welcoming place with friendly wait staff. I just moved back to New England after being gone for a while, so some friends of mine decided we should do something very "New England fall." It was decided a trip to the Birkshires was just the thing. And it was! After a day of wondering around we wanted something to eat before our long drive back to Boston. We decided on Michael's. This was a really bad choice! I choose to split nachos with one of the other members of our group. I wasn't too hungry, and nachos are hard to get wrong. They managed it. The nachos came out cold and the cheese had congealed. When the bill came we realized we had 4 cards, so I took mine back and throw in cash. We than took the time to split the bill ourselves (ie. we figured out who owed what and wrote it out for our server including which card the different splits when on.) I've done this hundreds of times before without a problem. However, it proved to be too much for both our serve and the management. It took over 35 minutes for them to try sort out our bill. During that time NO ONE ever came to our table to let us know what was going on. In the end we had to ask what the problem was. At which point they became rude. In the end we told them to just put the whole bill on one person's card and we would sort it out. read more

I don't understand how this place could be so crummy in such a wonderful location. The outside of the restaurant offers promise, but once you enter you'll be greeted by very dated commercial carpeting and a dingy/gloomy atmosphere. We ordered our food to go and ate in the car...this turned out to be a smart move because the bar was crowded with obnoxious, cursing sports fans yelling at the television. The bathroom looked like a "handyman special" gone wrong with missing tiles and rerouted pipes sticking out of the walls, skeevy! Now for the food...my husband had a turkey sandwich which was satisfactory. Now, don't ask me why I ordered this, I must have been feeling adventurous when I chose the clam strip wrap with lettuce and tarter sauce. At least my suffering could be your benefit...don't order it! The clam strips tasted like they were taken out of the freezer from 1982, deep fried the day before and microwaved upon my order (chewy & flavorless). Our son ordered the chicken caesar salad wrap. Well, I know how they killed the chicken for that wrap...they drowned it in caesar dressing. I actually feel bad for that chicken, he died for that sandwich and was additionally disrespected! So, how has this place stayed in business for so long? Take a look at the reviews, the only positive customer is one who's been drinking...AH-HA! Order a few beers, drink, yell at the television and then place your order for the frozen TGIF appetizers...enjoy! read more

I wouldn't even give it 1 star, unfortunately that is not an option. The food was awful, and gave me nasty heartburn. The service was slow and snooty, and the silverware was dirty. Go to the Red Lion Cellar instead. read more

This was our second time at this restaurant. First time was a couple of years ago when we stopped for lunch. It was OK. Tuna sandwich was good. Today we stopped for dinner.
