Very few things are priced. The things with price signs are not the correct items. There is no one to answer questions only self check out. I ordered vases online for my daughter's shower and had 36 left. I held on to them in hopes to use them for rehearsal dinner but unfortunately they will not work. When I asked for the lady who put me on such an extended hold she refused to deal with me until I got hold of the manager! The store was empty, I just needed to know if the had Pillar Candles! When I finally got a hold of her, 30 minutes later, she couldn't understand what I was saying and accused me of shaming her for her accent! I brought oversized 48x36 art work in for framing. Received after promised only to find out i was not called for pick up. Frame was dirty and discolored and in store i was not able to inspect as well as when at home due to COVID. Frame is open at all mitered corners and poorly papered on back, WRINKLED AND STICKY! The hangers on back protrude in a way that hanging would be very amateur looking. I will return for my full refund, this is completely UNACCEPTABLE!!!! read more

As a teacher, I use Michaels a lot! I went to the Port Chester location and I was rushing there as it was close to 9. I made it at 8:50. All I needed to grab was thin ribbon to complete my class Mother's Day Project. The closing staff already had the doors locked. When I said to please open it as they are not closed and even online says "closing SOON" she said it's already 9. I corrected her saying it is not 9 and she refused to open the door. I used to work in this location when I was younger and we were not allowed to lock those doors until 9. This is a pretty decent Michaels, located in Port Chester. Michaels is a chain, so you are going to more or less get the same selection here. I was looking for a binder/scrapbook for a project, and it took me a while to find one. Ultimately, I found a clearance box, located away from the scrapbook section, that had something I was looking for. The store does seem to be a little thin on the staffing, but the people that were there were nice and friendly. Generally this was a decent experience. read more

As an event planner I use Michaels A LOT. Up until now I have never had an issue. I was in search of a particular item, which I needed 8 of. I ordered this item online from 3 different stores for an in store pickup. Portchester , Cross County and Pelham Manor were the 3 stores seeing as I reside in the Bronx. Pelham Manor is my preferred store seeing as its closest to me. Yesterday I drove 30 minutes to Portchester only to be told that my order was canceled. As if that wasn't bad enough I was met by an extremely rude and unprofessional staff member named Catherine. As I tried to show her my email stating my order was ready for pickup I was told " I'm not reading your email " nor was I offered a solution. I was completely confused and offended by her response. I've been a Michael's shopper for quite some years. This experience was truly saddening for me. read more

The store is understaffed, and the management uncaring. I brought in a print to have mounted, and they messed it up. I was re-using a frame, and left the picture that was in the frame there so they knew exactly how big to make the finished mounting. it wasn't ready when promised, and when it came in it was the wrong size. Now I had to wait another 2 weeks. I was called to pick it up and when I went to pick it up there was no employees there to help. I waited 15 minutes. As i left the store, i saw there was no one in customer service, one gal on the register, and no one on the floor. My wife called to speak to the manager. 10 minutes on hold later, she called using another line and finally talked to the manager. . We went to pick up the picture... and it is again the wrong size. read more

I took two antique prints here to be framed because they were having a framing sale and I had a coupon. I dropped everything off and the guy behind the counter seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. The prices he quoted be were also very reasonable. The trouble came when I arrived two weeks later to pick up the prints. The first one I received no problem, but they seemed to have trouble locating the second. The print was of an English Bulldog and the guy (different from the person I had initially worked with), started going on about how he remembered it really well because he had bull dogs. So basically he's blowing smoke while the poor shop assistant is frantically searching for my print. Then they realize that it had been sent out to frame, and that I needed to come back and pick it up a couple days later. So a few days later I arrived, picked up the print, and everything was fine. I got home and took a good look at the image, and realized that they had ripped the print!!!! No, it was not terribly noticeable since it was now pressed together under glass, but this print had managed to stay intact for 100+ years before meeting these guys and no one had the decency to tell me that they messed up. Now, I don't care how affordable they are, I wouldn't even use them to frame a poster. read more

The problems that plague this Michael's store are a result of the corporation itself, not the individual stores. The main issue is under staffing. the place is big but there are hardly any sales floor reps to assist. If you need something you need to wander around for a while to find someone to help. The checkout lines are always long and despite them having like 6 registers i have never seen more than 2 open. If you need paint from the locked section, be prepared to wait around for 10 minutes while they try and find someone who has a key. All that being said, when you do manage to find a sales clerk to assist they are always helpful and courteous. The store is clean and well stocked. Great coupons onine! Just be prepared for a rather inefficient shopping experience. Also, I think their custom framing is rather sub par. Definitely not the quality you would get from a skilled craftsman. If you have something that is important or expensive, take it someplace else for framing. read more

They never answer the phone here! Very unprofessional. Once you are there the store is very well stocked and organized however, the fact remains that customers will have to occasionally contact the store and it is almost impossible to get a salesperson on the line. read more

Went their to buy some paper crafts. Found some beads and other jewelry stuff. There were two aisles of beads. Two isles of paper stock. Not too many wooden stamps, but they seem to have a nice selection of clear stamps. They have their x-mas stuff out and setting up for more of it. The sale was good. Store is well kept and the lines for customer care move quickly. The layout makes it easy for customers to find whatever they may be looking for. The store loses 2 stars due solely of their location. The parking lot is poorly lit making it almost impossible to read signs for parking. The lighting situation also makes it difficult to locate individual stores as this location is in a plaza. read more

This has to be one of the worst Michaels I have ever been to! The employees except for 1 little speedy girl with a bun are extremely rude and lazy! This is my review over 3 visits to this location , my first visit I asked for help finding some foam board that I could use for a project for my kids and I was told by the "manager" a red headed woman to look in the back! Thanks that's helpful . I couldn't find it I went back up front and said " hey I'm sorry but I just don't see it." She gave me a look like I was crazy and said "I'm busy Sr " with such an attitude that I couldn't believe she represents Michaels not as a manager but she shouldn't even leave the basement! By far the rudest women in the store if you hate your job lady then You should just quite! Or be fired for sure! I've seen employees making out in the isle employees hiding and not working employees bad mouthing management like its funny using such offensive language like no one can hear them ! This is not professional people I feel as if I'm trying to shop in a store full of people who HATE their job not a pleasant experience!! I used to shop at this location all the time and always found knowlegable people to help me. Lately I've noticed most of the associates that would help me are gone. No one there can answer my questions and if I ask where something is located I get looked at like i have 3 heads. The lines are always long and there's never enough registers open, and the ones that are open have the slowest cashiers. read more
