This is the type of place you can only find in New York. A smorgasbord of costumes, makeup, horror props! Tons of masks, hats, headpieces (think cats, bunnies, demonesses). Tons of prosthetics and fake blood, dyes, wigs, etc. There is a special downstairs section where big time productions like SNL often rent costumes and props. They have entire sections of specialized apparel ranging from zombie to cop to dominatrix and BDSM. Steam punk, cowboys and country, retro 50s, 60s hippies, 70s. Anything you need for Halloween, plays/shows/productions, or events, you can find it here. Tons of people to help at every corner of the store, and all are attentive and kind. Also a lot of photo ops around the store, including a Heath Ledger joker, various Child's Play alum, Art the Clown, Michael Myers, and a ton of other huge animatronics and props.

Costume party, conventions, any type of theme event, this place has you covered! They have ears, wigs, wings, masks, and even a magic section. They also sell really huge and realistic Halloween decorations. They even have a prank section. Now I know where to go for my niche costumes.

So much merchandise

THE one stop shopping Halloween experience in Flatiron. But you will pay for it as the prices are steep. Enter a huge bi-level space containing all kinds of costumes and accessories--for rental or purchase. Props of all sizes and masks from the most popular horror flicks. I love Halloween and this store is worth a drop in even for the fun of it. You can always sit on the bench and take a selfie with Art the Clown (from the Terrifier franchise movie). If you're looking for a costume to be anything you want to be on Halloween or some fun decorations, Abracadabra will certainly assist.

Very cool selection of horror items. There's an upstairs with plenty of costumes. The basement had hats and cool outfits. Loved it!

Movie Memorabilia is right next to the Magic Section. Art the Clown says hi.

I buy magic there whenever I'm working as a pro magician in Lower Manhattan. It's very spooky but once you get past the sentries, it's a great place to shop for more than just magic. Wigs, Masks, Make Up, and Wardrobe too.

Getting my supplies for my shows.

I found some real treasures here at this shop. Props that you couldn't find anywhere else. Great magic supplies center for a hard working magician.

Much, much more than a Halloween costume store! This massive store can help outfit you Burning Man as well! While there are definitely costumes for silly/fun things (like, an entire row of Santa costumes in June??! love it!), they have costume pieces that are more for your alter ego; that is, is you're going through a emo/Goth phase, there's stuff here for you; if want to go to festival and dress up for that, they've got some stuff; if you're into LARPing and looking for, say, a Victorian outfit, yep, stuff here for you. I think this is the most fun store I've seen in NYC if you're shopping to dress up for a theme party. Okay, well, except if the theme is just 'white party', which, I just don't see a lot of pure white clothes, lol. In terms of selection, for example, they have an entire wig *section*. There's also costume rentals available for their more elaborate pieces, which gives a lot of variety to play with if you've got the budget. There's an entire counter just for magic tricks. And so on. The staff is nice, attentive, and helpful, but not in that hovering, oppressive way. Bathrooms: Don't seem to be available for customers, though, I would think in an emergency, they'd be okay.

See all

Reviews are mixed. Many highlight the wide costume selection, friendly and helpful staff, and the fun, creative atmosphere.

There prices are insanely overpriced. You can buy straight from the Manufacturers and save hundreds to thousands of dollar.

The problem is that the picture of the costume showed costume components that were not included in the purchased item.

YOU. ARE. NOT. 20 yrs old NO. MO!!! So that being said, I hope it's awhile before my old ass acts like that again hahah! Actually, nah! Being a dumb kid is fun! Hahahaha! So being in the city, CLEARLY I had to get my friends souvenirs! Souvenirs for my friends who arrrrre....21 and 22 years old Hahahaha! So what's the most popular souvenir no matter what (usually)? .... SHOT GLASSES! But of course-hahaha!! So I stopped in here. Word to the wise....get your shit glasses, tshirts, etc somewhere NOT located in Times Square! Why? Because you will save a ton! Did I do that tho? Nah! Why? Well because of NYE....My old ass took like 2 days to recover. So while recovering...I went absolutely nowhere lol. So the day I'm leaving, I'm running all over Times Square looking for bagels for my mom and stores to get shit glasses and keychains, magnets, and some other things. Went here and paid 2x what I would elsewhere...outside TS. Growing up in NYS and spending tons of time down in the city as a kid and as an adult... I have ALWAYS known better than to buy in TS or around there, but I was in a rush....like so many in NY lol. I legit was tho. I was more worried to find bagels than anything else. Did I get bagels? Nope. Turns out my mom would have rather had NYC crumb cake (because I told her I bought a piece every day I was there and went to bed a happy fat pig lol) and she's like "forget the bagels! There's nothing like NY crumb cake! She's absolutely right. Mental note for next time hahaha! I got my crumb cake at a deli in Queens. Not important to this review, but yeah lol This place I got the shot glasses and other things at...super cool inside. CLASSIC Times Square store. Big, flashy, busy as hell! Great store! Minus the prices you'll pay and OH! And there's an old man who works there, I'm assuming the owner....NOT a very nice man. He deals with tourists all day long..Americans and everyone else from all over the world. I get he may be burned out. That's the case tho....step aside and let a happy person run registers and the floor. Other than that, it's a great place. You definitely feel the crazy NYC vibes in there and right outside is mayhem! Step outs and look to the left and there's the TS NYE Ball, the 2020 sign. Very cool! Thanks, yelperetties! Cheers!
