Went on a Saturday. Got there at 9:55 and already ~8 ppl ahead of us. The place is supposed to open at 10 but they didn't open until 10:30 because the lady who works there got there late. so we were just waiting outside in the cold for 30 mins. Once they opened we got in and it was a little crowded searching for beads. I paid $18 for a 6inch gold filled chain and then another $17 for 6 charms and $5 for the tools to assemble my necklace. My friend and I split the cost of the hooks and stuff ($7) so my total was a little over $40. I've recently gotten back into beading only to find the beading district decimated! BeadKraft seems to be one of the last bead shops left in the city. It is what I consider a smaller store, but it is full of useful things and gorgeous beads. I think they even assist putting jewelry together from store bought components. I think, don't quote me. There's always a table of people stringing and making in store. So far I've only needed Griffin beading cord. I got what I needed, but there was a limited selection. Upon returning to the store about a week later, they'd replenished colors and sizes. The staff was very attentive. It seemed customers were keeping them busy cutting lengths of chain. I came here through tik tok, was unaware we had to assemble our own bracelets. we had to pay for pliers in order to even make our bracelets, and after being in the shower with the bracelet for a week it's starting to turn green. THEY ADVERTISE IT AS REAL SILVER. The shop is crowded and small and no air conditioning. the bracelet falls off repeatedly and the charms break off so fast these are such bad quality. when I asked for help assembling the bracelet the staff just ignored me and basically told me to figure it out. I recommend shopping around the area before committing (even if you fall in love with something)to buying whatever it is you're looking for at any of these stores because they all have something going for them in terms of products they specialize in and random discounts on things that the rest of the stores are selling for more. That being said, I stopped into BeadKraft today and I think it is definitely worth checking out if you're on a quest for beads/supplies. It's a small store, but they have an interesting variety of items. As far as the great prices I saw here, I noticed that they sold bags of metal barrettes, bags of certain types of beads and those see-through drawstring fabric jewelry pouches (also in packs of several bags) for very reasonable prices. My favorite part about the packs of bags was that they were packaged in a variety of colors. If making hair accessories is you thing, definitely stop by here. They seem to be pretty stocked up in that department. Some of the other things I saw here include strands of faceted glass beads, seed beads, an assortment of feathers and fabric flowers, findings, chain, cord and beading supplies, the list goes on. I guess I expected a wider variety so I felt a little disappointed. I ended up finding something that would work ok, but it's also because I forced myself to buy something since I had come out of my way and really needed beads for my project. The place is tiny and I felt like the color options weren't enough for each type of bead (mainly the Swarovski crystal beads) and I couldn't find the beads in the size I had originally come for, but my project was flexible so I settled for a different color and size. Prices were a tiny bit higher than I expected after reading the other reviews, but the Yelp discount softened the blow, though one cashier initially refused to honor it until I made her ask another one who accepted it without hesitation. She gave me help on which gauge of wires to use, what type of jump/split rings as well as tips. The prices were pretty good too compared to the few other beading stores ive been too. They sold seed beads by the lb. $12 for a mult color or single color one as well as crystal beads.
