If you aren't looking carefully you'll miss this place. It's actually on the second floor of a building that you have to enter and sign in with the front desk attendant. When we walked in to the store we were greeted by friendly staff that explained the process. We selected the size bracelets and went on our way to choosing our pieces. They have tons of variety to build your own bracelet masterpiece. The building of the bracelet was tricky although they do walk you thru it. Took us a bit of time to figure out how to do it. But they turned out so pretty and we love them! read more

Very cute!! Wide collection and friendly staff. Like others have mentioned, you want to walk into the lobby, sign in with the desk, and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. They have both supplies, and you can also pick charms and spend some time and make your own jewelry. read more

such a fun experience if you love crafting and jewelry! you can choose out the various designs and order them to your desire. in other words, it's super customizable to your liking! but if your indecisive like me, you may end up spending a good chunk of time picking out your pieces LOL for the italian charm bracelets: they have many different designs such as butterflies, cats, dogs, flowers, fruits, words, and other more niche designs. the bracelet size depends on the size of your wrist so it could vary from 16-24 pieces needed total. my wrists aren't that big so i ended up grabbing 16 pieces. each decorated charm is $4 every plain one is $1 after picking out your pieces, you pay at the register and then move to the table to piece your bracelet together. i do admit it is alittle hard sometimes to piece together but it's worth it. they also have different sections for necklaces and other charm bracelets as well if you prefer to make those read more

Went on a Saturday. Got there at 9:55 and already ~8 ppl ahead of us. The place is supposed to open at 10 but they didn't open until 10:30 because the lady who works there got there late. so we were just waiting outside in the cold for 30 mins. Once they opened we got in and it was a little crowded searching for beads. I paid $18 for a 6inch gold filled chain and then another $17 for 6 charms and $5 for the tools to assemble my necklace. My friend and I split the cost of the hooks and stuff ($7) so my total was a little over $40. When we left around noon the line was inside now since they had opened but there was ~30 ppl in line maybe even more, the entire hallway was full Things I didn't like: - saying they open at 10 and then opening at 10:30 when it's freezing outside. - $5 to assemble my own jewelry just to use pliers that they let you borrow - when I went to go choose a chain the lady that was supposed to explain was on her phone distracted so wasn't really explaining well read more

I've been purchasing my beads from the store for well over a decade, now almost 2, and they still are one of the few places where you can get such a wide variety of beads and crafting items. I usually purchase honeybeats for some of the projects that I create for my clients. But sadly, many of them have started to dwindle. In selection. Hopefully, I'm able to get some of the things that have been out of stock for my last few visits when I go next time. I noticed my last trip. They have been hosting DIY jewelry parties that you can walk in, select a project, chains, and charms for super cute jewelry. I hope this helps boost business for this family owned establishment. read more

This bead store is located on the second floor on the India Building. Staff in there were nice and helpful. Strings of glass beads hung in the displays. There were one of the few stores still carrying Swarovski Crystal beads. Lots of jewelry findings and charms to be found. They had a couch for partners or friends wishing to rest their feet. Street parking. read more

Don't waste your time! Limited charms and rude workers. You pay $5 per charm and $1 for a blank one. Only cool part is that you assemble yourself rather than a worker, that's it. Cutandcropped has a better selection AND treat their customers with respect read more

Easy process, nice workers, and they greeted me right as I walked in so there wasn't any awkward "what do I do now" moments. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it didn't feel too crowded or busy, there's good structure. Sooooo many charms and chains. I prefer that here they let you put the charms on so you don't have to wait for the one person to do each person's jewelry. You can still have them make it, but you have to pay more. Not that expensive, just depends on what quality you want the chain and how many charms. **A little hard to find, it's on the second floor at the address, you have to walk in the building, sign in, then go up the elevator. read more

BeadKraft - My chain was $35 and the charms were $3-5 each I believe - Arts & Crafts Near Me - New York, New York

I've recently gotten back into beading only to find the beading district decimated! BeadKraft seems to be one of the last bead shops left in the city. It is what I consider a smaller store, but it is full of useful things and gorgeous beads. I think they even assist putting jewelry together from store bought components. I think, don't quote me. There's always a table of people stringing and making in store. So far I've only needed Griffin beading cord. I got what I needed, but there was a limited selection. Upon returning to the store about a week later, they'd replenished colors and sizes. The staff was very attentive. It seemed customers were keeping them busy cutting lengths of chain. Of which they have a good selection. The prices for beads and cord seem on par with online shops. Though, I did see a sticky bead mat that's less expensive online. read more

Such a fun NYC activity! You choose your charms and chains! It can definitely get pricy quickly so make sure to have some sort of idea as you're picking through. The employees are sweet and helpful, once you purchase everything they have space for you to build your jewelry yourself which is a nice touch in my opinion. My biggest advice is to get them as close to when they open as possible, they get busy quickly! read more

So many things! The ladies who helped us were very nice. Its a little pricy. Make sure you compare the values to other duplicates in the store, can save you a lot of money. Also, a lot you can get on amazon. There are a wide selection of unique charms if you don't like the bulk types. read more

Great place for beads and jewelry making items! There are even items for making headbands. The workers are so nice and very informative. It's a bit pricey but it's convenient to have everything in one place. This is the only place around this area that has 14k gold-filled items. Swarovski crystals and wires are also available. Freshwater pearls and semi precious stones are available too. They also do custom engraving. I would come here again! read more

I came here through tik tok, was unaware we had to assemble our own bracelets. we had to pay for pliers in order to even make our bracelets, and after being in the shower with the bracelet for a week it's starting to turn green. THEY ADVERTISE IT AS REAL SILVER. The shop is crowded and small and no air conditioning. the bracelet falls off repeatedly and the charms break off so fast these are such bad quality. when I asked for help assembling the bracelet the staff just ignored me and basically told me to figure it out. I paid $50 for a bracelet, all charms fell off within a week. HORRIBLE PLACE TO GO TO. read more

So beyond disappointed with my experience, waited over 2 hours just to get told the place was "over-capacity" as soon as it was my turn. I love this store. I decided to restart my beading business and Bead Kraft has the cheapest, good quality materials. This store is really great for the basic materials like: wires, tools, earring hooks, crimp beads, headpins, eyepins, etc. They also have a great online store. I received all my items in about 3 days, and they sent me emails whenever my package was recieved, processed, and actually on the UPS truck totally impressed. read more

I LOVE Beadkraft. I am a beginner at jewelry making and I wanted a go to place for all my beads and materials, and this place is definitely it. I have bought huge bags of beads for $2.75, and I was able to make over five bracelets with them. I have also bought semi-precious bead strands ranging from $5-$12. The tools are also cheap. They even have packaging boxes and bags for $4 and up, and also storage boxes the most expensive one is $9. This place is pretty small but they have a ton of material! read more

I looooove making things. As much as I love stuffing my face in fact and I have frequented the bead stores in this area for years. I've learned where to go for certain things. I recommend shopping around the area before committing (even if you fall in love with something)to buying whatever it is you're looking for at any of these stores because they all have something going for them in terms of products they specialize in and random discounts on things that the rest of the stores are selling for more. That being said, I stopped into BeadKraft today and I think it is definitely worth checking out if you're on a quest for beads/supplies. It's a small store, but they have an interesting variety of items. As far as the great prices I saw here, I noticed that they sold bags of metal barrettes, bags of certain types of beads and those see-through drawstring fabric jewelry pouches (also in packs of several bags) for very reasonable prices. My favorite part about the packs of bags was that they were packaged in a variety of colors. If making hair accessories is you thing, definitely stop by here. They seem to be pretty stocked up in that department. Some of the other things I saw here include strands of faceted glass beads, seed beads, an assortment of feathers and fabric flowers, findings, chain, cord and beading supplies, the list goes on. The staff were friendly and helpful. I left with a bag of kitschy plastic beads that I've been searching for since the 80s and had no idea they were still manufactured anymore and a 12 pack of multicolored pouches. I was happy! read more

I guess I expected a wider variety so I felt a little disappointed. I ended up finding something that would work ok, but it's also because I forced myself to buy something since I had come out of my way and really needed beads for my project. The place is tiny and I felt like the color options weren't enough for each type of bead (mainly the Swarovski crystal beads) and I couldn't find the beads in the size I had originally come for, but my project was flexible so I settled for a different color and size. Prices were a tiny bit higher than I expected after reading the other reviews, but the Yelp discount softened the blow, though one cashier initially refused to honor it until I made her ask another one who accepted it without hesitation. I'll try some of the other stores in the area to compare prices and variety before deciding whether to return or not. read more

This place was great for my one stop shop for jewelry/beading craft store. I'm a newbie at jewelry making and loved that the staff was very helpful. She was very attentive and resourceful. She gave me help on which gauge of wires to use, what type of jump/split rings as well as tips. The prices were pretty good too compared to the few other beading stores ive been too. They sold seed beads by the lb. $12 for a mult color or single color one as well as crystal beads. Different studs, nylon wired, clasps, chains, craft tools ($6 a piece i.e. pliers, cutters, etc.) The place was very clean and organized. Will definitely come back for my next diy fix. Thanks BeadKraft :) read more
