I'm happy to see they moved east, and I went in on this overcast, wet day with a little dog I was walking; they liked her and welcomed her. There was a sale going on, and although I was quite attracted by the beads and jewelry--they have a great representation of Tuareg jewelry--what won me over were the re-purposed rice and feed bags, made into totes and backpacks. I ended up getting one with a smiling golden retriever on it--made out of a dog-food bag, naturally--at 30% off! They have gongs, incense burners, and brassware--and cymbals! Don't tell your kids!--they also have boxes with paint and ink sticks, as well as papers to write on and blank books to write in. (Uh, full disclosure: I broke the glass cover on one of these paint boxes when I brushed by the display; they saw, but didn't make me buy it.) I don't have the space or disposable income for most of their decorative items, so I'm--relatively--safe!

After discovering Elissa's at a fair a few years ago, I started tracking their pop-up spots every summer weekend, schlepping all over the city for these modestly priced statement necklaces, delicate chandelier earrings, and large variety of expensive-looking bracelets that even fit my baby wrists. I love their selection of earring/necklace sets (usually around $20-25, as I seem to always waste valuable time in the early a.m. trying to coordinate jewelry before work. My searching and schlepping have fortunately subsided thanks to the opening of Elissa's awesome little boutique in the heart of the Village on Washington Place, right off 6th Ave next to Joy Burger. Owned by the cutest couple on the planet, you'll want to give this little place business, even if you're crazy and don't like the creative assortment of jewelry and accessories they carry that won't go close to breaking the bank.
