I can here after Mass at St. Patrick's and I need a Lenton book. I was half expecting to get no service and some attitude to go with it. I was approached and asked if I needed help and she made a point of looking for me. They didn't have Lenton books which I thought strange but the Customer service was Excellent! Worth coming back! I've been to the gift shop so many times. When I need a gift for a Baptism or Communion, wedding whatever! I come from a family that had statues of Saints in the home. With each generation there were less and less. My mother had only one Saint. Someone gave her Saint Francis. It may have been me! Can't remember. In the gift store you can find many traditional statues, rosaries, prayer cards, key chains and other Catholic commercialized item your heart desires. After the Pope visited they had a ton of momentos. I had to return an item one time. It was very easy credit back to my Visa. The employees are very nice. They are also very helpful making suggestions. I do find that some very popular items sell fast. I return periodically because they always get new stock. I'm sure I'll return soon. I brought Yelp Friends from Las Vegas. They really had a good time. Ellen found lots of gifts for her God Child. :-) read more

Stopped by while visiting NYC for the day, Decided to see what the religious gift shop in the cathedral was selling. I was talking to a few visitors and they seemed to have the same problem I had with the gift shop. The gift shop would not replace items which were defective after a few wks. The lady at the counter asked the 2 women & myself to leave as we were upsetting other customers by complaining about our experiences at the gift shop. Nice Job St Patrick's Cathedral- you certainly are living up to the Catholic philosophy of no compassion just get their money! The dollars is the only almighty god they are interested in. The gift shop is the rudest and least helpful place to buy a religious item. How can a religious shop run by St. Patrick's be so disinterested in their patrons. I could never buy an item here, ever again and tell anyone who will listen, to please go somewhere else to buy religious items. read more

After going to the church we were looking for some additional items for family. The guards at the church directed us here. It is one of my favorite Catholic gift shops ever. There are lots of jewelry, blessing plates, saint cards, figurines and mugs. There are rosaries, pins and medals with St, Patrick on it that I was able to get for some family friends. In the small room/section in the back there is a small bookshelf of books and some holy items donated by prior bishops etc. The resin statues are beautiful both in the windows and when you look up (there is a nativity scene). The folks who work here could not be any nicer, more helpful or knowledgeable. My suggestion is to skip the gift shop in the church (they get their items from here anyway) and come here where it is less crowded. read more

Update: Thank you St. Patricks Gift Shop for sending me a beautiful fixed Jade Rosary a week after I brought in the strange defective one I had given my mother. I appreciate the manager responding to my email almost immediately, but still am saddened by the original reception I received from staff. The gift shop referred me to the Parish across the street. It was there that I met Pedro who was extremely gracious and helpful as I arrived unprepared without the name of the person that needed to be honored. He couldn't have been nicer or more dignified during the entire process. I was sincerely moved by his obvious spirituality and desire to help his fellow man. read more

Unbelievably rude woman working on 9/21. Wouldn't answer the door and dismissed me with a rude wave. I called her and she said they were closed at 2 despite me arriving before 2 o'clock. I told her I knew what I needed and would be one minute to grab it. Then she hung up on me and turned the other way. read more

This shop is only interested in taking your money and will not help you with defective merchandise. Buyers beware you shouldn't shop here....this shop does not live up to Catholic Christian principles...they only want your money. Go to another shop to buy your items...you won't have any grief. Great little store in Saint Patrick's with various souvenirs, gift cards. The neighboring store across the street has a larger selection of items great for First Communion gifts and little gift bags- various prayer cards and adorable little pouches including rosaries and a couple other items - for both boys girls (white satin looking for girls and black for boys.) They also sell mini First Communion gift bags. read more

This is a GREAT store for buying Catholic items. The selections are fantastic, and a lot of the items are affordable. You may also want to visit the store in the Cathedral. The prices rang from pretty cheap to expensive, but there is something for everyone. I've been to other Catholic stores in the past, and I think that this one and the one in the Cathedral are one of the better ones. read more

Love this place. My wife and I seem to never be able to walk out of this place without buying something. Every time we're in St. Patty's, we seem to find ourselves across the street at the gift shop. Great little gift shop. Many inexpensive things in there. read more

Gift shop has a great selection of different things. Decent prices but the downfall is that it is tiny store. The customer service is also non existent. Asked an African American lady for help and she said I had to wait because she was busy. I understand the shop was busy but her tone was extremely rude. When I decided to ask another employee for help she gave me an attitude and said I was only allowed to ask one employee at a time for help. If it wasn't for the shop being inside of a church I would of honestly gave her a piece of my mind but instead decided to keep quiet. Go to the other gift shop locations instead you will probably receive better service instead of employees that seem to hate assisting others read more
