Those radiators were ancient and in horrendous condition with thick layers of old paint, chipped and peeling. They were so bad, we weren't sure they were worth keeping. PP sanded them down and gave them a gorgeous powder-coated finish. They offered a binder-full of colors to choose from. We are thrilled with the outcome. They honestly look like new. They also refinished an old fashioned shower curtain rod with the same silver coating as the newly restored bathroom radiator. Looks great. We did our homework before getting the radiators refinished. They were fairly priced compared to several other cost estimates. The other reason we went with them is because their business is focused on this sort of restorative work and powder-coated finishing. We were very pleased with the outcome.

So reluctantly, I went to my closest Mattress Firm (late on a Friday night), because I hate being 'sold to'--and I was delightfully surprised at the wonderful service experience I had with Daniel Z. I had done some research online but wanted to test a bunch of mattresses, Daniel was wonderful at answering my questions, guiding me to try different options simply for comparison, and then letting me come to my own conclusion. I never felt "sold" to, instead, I felt like I was truly listened to--and that means everything to me as a customer. I left without purchasing anything (because I'm someone who needs time to reflect and think about things some more)--and then spent the next day going to 3 other Mattress Firm stores in the area, just to try different beds (as each store has slightly different inventory out on the floor). I finally made my decision on a mattress (and landed on a more expensive mattress than the one I had originally come in to buy)--but after having really bad experiences at each of the other stores (where one sales person literally would not stop talking, never listened, the other just kept trying to push the most expensive bed on the floor on me, etc.)--I drove an extra 15 miles out of my way just to return to this store, so that I could make my final purchase with Daniel. He had mentioned that he wouldn't be working today, but that Craig would be there--and wow, I had just as wonderful of an experience with Craig as I did with Daniel. Craig was incredibly kind, courteous and got me in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, without trying to upsell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need. I am so, so grateful to both Daniel and Craig for treating me the way I like to be treated as a customer--giving me space to think, not pushing too hard on anything, straightforward and honest, and incredibly efficient. But for smaller sales - this might not be the place. I wanted to update my bedroom with a few new pieces. Came with measurements and a floor plan and my designer came up with a really creative way to set up my room. Sounds great - right? It was, until when the furniture was delivered, I discovered my designer had ordered the wrong size dresser/chest unit. It fits in my room but not in the way I thought it could be arranged. I called the store immediately, the designer came to the phone but offered no apologies, no options. It's a custom piece, of course, so I can't return it. But I am deeply disappointed and will not use this particular Ethan Allen again. Buying furniture should be fun - and for the price, their customers should be thrilled with how the room turns out. I can't dump tens of thousands on furniture right now - there will be plenty of business for them over time.

That happens and we were perfectly fine finding another place to consign it. When we picked it up we found out that it was stored in the outdoor garage.......it was wet, moldy, ripped and the colors had begun to bleed due to negligent care of Global Consignments.
