Garage Ink Body Graphics and Collectables

(1 review)

If I could give this business no stars, I would. Let's start with the how professional the shop…read moreis. Garage Ink and the people who run it and own it are extremely unprofessional. I have seen a quite a few negative reviews on their Facebook page, people speaking up about their bad experiences there and Garage Ink replies back yelling at them and saying that they are wrong. This is incredibly unprofessional. Bad reviews happen to every business and there's a proper way to handle them, Garage Ink seems to not know that. I've seen reviews where people don't even say anything and just leave a star rating, and Garage Ink is right there yelling at them and accusing them of never even being in the shop. A better way to handle it would be to write back and calmly ask what was wrong, offer solutions to improve the experience and most importantly APOLOGIZE! I've worked in the customer service industry for years now, and sometimes you just have to apologize, even when you think you are right, that is if you actually value your company's reputation. I also found the people working there, particularly Dave to be very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Now for the actual quality of the work. The work they do here is an absolute disgrace and insult to the artists in the tattoo industry that actually do have good work and understand the weight of putting something on someone else's body that will last a lifetime. His lines are blurry, squiggly and are not clean at all. His pictures, particularly his portrait tattoos are horrible. He has no talent whatsoever. Just because, you want to be a tattoo artist, it doesn't mean you should. He does not care how you feel during the process of getting a tattoo. I remember one time, they had a promotion for going as long as you can for a tattoo for a certain cost, but you could not use any numbing spray or take breaks. A good tattoo artist would NEVER do this. A good tattoo artist cares about how you are feeling and wants you to have the best experience possible. Another time, they had a promotion where they were offering to do four different small, poorly drawn hearts for a lower cost, but you were not allowed to make ANY changes to them. A good tattoo artist wants you to leave with work you absolutely love, and wants you to speak up about the things you'd like to change with the tattoo design. The cleanliness of his shop is disgusting. I have been to quite a few tattoo shops and know what a good shop looks like in terms of cleanliness. Garage Ink does not sterilize anything, they do not wear gloves, they do not wash their hands constantly, they do not lay down sanitary sheets or cover the tattoo machine in sanitary wrap. This is incredibly dangerous, as you could be at risk for contracting diseases such as AIDS and other diseases and infections as well. Lastly, they are also extremely over priced. I've seen tattoo artists far better, in better locations for less. Please do not go here. It is dangerous, over priced and you'll leave with a terrible tattoo. Dave used to run a shop in White Rock, but his work and cleanliness was so bad, word got out quick and he was forced to close his shop. I tell everyone I know to never go to Garage Ink. There are a few good reviews but, these are from his friends and family who have never seen what a good tattoo artist can actually do. Do not be fooled, look the pictures he openly displays on their Facebook page, pictures don't lie. He also has pictures where you can openly see him tattooing and not following proper sanitary proticol.
