I decided to come here because most nail salons in north DFW don't use acrylic anymore. I was considering going back to acrylic because I was wasting money with NexGen. The owner talked me through my options and I ended up getting the NexGen anyway. He listened to my concerns and applied the powder according to my concerns. My pedicure was rushed but the polish came out nice and my feet are soft. My eyebrow wax came out nice as well. If my nails still look sustainable in 2-3 week, I will return. read more

Do not waste your time at this business. The owner is rude will promise you they can do what you ask- but after you are in the chair things change. They have very limited matching polishes. You will be given a color wheel and told the colors all have gel and regular color matches, then when it's time to apply the polish they cannot find the matching polish. No one can do even the simplest design. The polish is poorly applied and I had to refile and shape my nails when I got home. In addition, the regular polish on my toes was still not dry 6 hours later. You can always get right in, which is why I've given them a few tries, but never again. I wasted my money! read more

Absolutely the worst place to get nails done. They hurry through everything and don't make sure that your nails look right. When they're taking off old nails they won't take it off completely so your nails will look clumpy. I already had to go back after getting gel polish on my fingernails because they made the polish itself clumpy and so it lifted/peeled two days later. The biggest problem I had with them was I got a french pedicure and the clear polish they used turned yellow by the next day. I got scared that I got fungus or something so I peeled back some of the polish and nope, my nail was normal underneath. Went up there to talk to them and get them fixed and the owner tried to tell me it's from my socks....I spend extra money for gel so that this kind of stuff doesn't happen. I told him I've gotten french gel many times before and this has never happened and I didn't wear socks for two days later!! He proceeded to try to convince me it's my socks and it's normal. Told me it would be another $20 to redo the polish. I'm blown away by the lack of professionalism and I definitely won't be back. read more

Just moved to the area & didn't want to drive 20mins to the nail shop I usually go to.... wish I would have now! Very disappointed! Went in for a repair(2nails) & color change! Waste of $15 for sure! I should have walked out when I looked at the nail color selection! Most of the colors looked used & abused! The tech painted my nails horribly! My 2 year niece may have done better! Smh! I have been going to Michael's nails since 1996. A couple of different owners but I've had consistently good service.

I was looking to get my nails done same-day. When I called, the man who answered was helpful and answered my questions. It was a pleasant call. Luckily they were able to get me right in. I brought in a picture of the look I was going for because I dont really know the correct terminology of what to ask for. Lily was the nail tech who took care of me. She did an amazing job and perfectly matched the picture I brought in... Like an EXACT match. I was so pleasantly surprised. The attitude of their staff and quality of Lily's work made it a perfect experience. This is how one should feel when they go out to pamper themselves and I appreciate it very much. I used to hate this place. I've lived in the area for years and the quality was just bad. Went in today and was pleasantly surprised!

Don't go here. They permanently damaged my nail. I have pictures. I can't feel confident in my nails anymore or at all. I hope that people can find a better place and don't experience this issue at all. Seems like tools aren't very sanitary. Thank you for reading. read more

A week ago I went to get sns nails done. The older man that did my nails was apparently One of the owners and he not only took forever to do the nails but he didn't file the tips when finished which made them not look great in the first place, but after only a week I've already lost one. Being that I've had the sns done elsewhere and it lasted ALOT longer I really don't think I'll be returning here. read more

Went for a pedicure Sunday morning and it already started chipping. I've also had this same experience here with gel nails only lasted a week and usually last more than that. Gave it two stars cause they have a friendly staff. Pedicures are $20, rather pay more for better quality. read more

I love this place. From the outside it looks a bit sketchy, but the inside is wonderful, clean, and full of really really nice people! They do great nails that actually stay on (and didn't charge me when I lost a nail, even touched up and buffed all of my nails!) and great pedicures. I won't ever go anywhere else. Just love them!!!! I'm not satisfied with the services. They are pushy with rushing you to pick a color. Got a new set with gel and a spa pedicure. The massage was good, but the actual cleaning of the nails was not up to standards. After painting my nails they didn't even bother to clean around the nail. It looks like my 10 year old nephew painted my nails. As I was getting my toes done another was doing my hand and she cut them before I could tell her what size. When I asked her to do them in an almond shape she responded that I had waited to late, when in fact she's in such a rush she failed to ask me in the first place. She basically was like if I change "my mind" now she'd have to rip them all off and start again. Just an altogether not relaxing experience.... SUCH A WASTE, especially because I'm so unsatisfied I'm considering having it redone.NEVER AGAIN. read more

LOVE this place! I have been going here since 2005 and the ladies are amazing! Very low turnover and always a pleasant greeting when walking in. Even on days they are busy, they try their best to not make you wait too long and are apologetic for the wait. The place has been updated and while it may not be the fanciest place since it is in a strip mall, it has the best technicians and service. I don't go anywhere else to get my manis and pedis. My visits to Michael's Nails is the best hour of my day :) read more

The owner Peter is very rude and lies to the customer. While having a manicure/pedicure done, the technician, Randy, cut my cuticles and caused them to bleed to the point that I needed to apply antibiotics to them for a few days. He also did a poor polish job. To compensate me for the poor service, Peter promised to redo them at no charge but refused to do so when I showed up for my appointment. He and another technician proceeded to hurl profanity at me and refused to come up with a win-win resolution. As you can see from a couple of the other reviews and from a BBB complaint, Peter has a problem with lying and controlling his language as he hurls profanity at the customers who are dissatisfied with Michael Nails service. I predict that Michael Nails will not remain in business if they continue to treat their customers this way. They will reap what they sow. read more
