Today was my 3rd hair cut here in about just under 4 months. First time I got one of my best haircuts ever, 2nd time was ok, but later found out that shireen had left disproportionately long hair in the back towards the top. Since I was busy with work I couldn't come back to fix it So almost a month later I came today to get my haircut before an international trip and it was going well until an elderly white lady walked .... Within a minute she decided my haircut was over and started with the mirror etc - I had to tell her to finish the job, again in a minute, she was like all done! And took the cloth sheet off... again had to remind her to trim my neck hair and again remind her about shampoo that I get done after a haircut (got the fastest shampoo ever, had to come home and rewash my hair right away) Long story short, she ditched me to serve another customer- hence I will not be coming back here again It's not like she ditches current customers to serve a new one who walked in... last time I came she was already cutting someone's hair and she told me it would be a 30 minute wait so I had to come back later, but I guess she was too shy to tell the elderly white lady that she will have to wait till she's done with me You can see from the pic that it's a job half done- clipped on the sides but still long on top and front- and I had specifically said I need it very short. read more

I used to love this place! I was a regular here. But they hired someone new,prices increased a bit (which I didn't mind much), and unfortunately my last few experiences got progressively worse. In today's experience, the new lady tried to upsell me multiple times by making me feel bad for how I looked and insisted that I needed more services. By the end of the visit, I couldn't help but tear up on my way to the car. To backtrack, the new person (older lady) isn't the best but I understand that everyone has to learn. She's not my first choice, but always end up with her since she started. (The other lady that I love is always busy). With her, my brows end up thin and uneven each visit, while being a lot more of a painful threading experience. Today I came in and even if she didn't meant to, she was quick to insult me in FRONT OF MY BOYFRIEND. I explained that we were in a rush and that I only have time to thread my eyebrows. She was persistent and said I needed my upper lip "very badly", the way she said it made me embarrassed so I agreed. Then I told her I had to go, but she said "oh no, no you need your chin too" so I let her do it. (Mind you I'm not a very hairy person, so this is the first time I'm hearing this from anyone) Then she proceeded to forcing me into getting my eyebrows tinted, even though I kept saying I'm really in a rush and have to go.But because she kept repeating that I "really need it and it's only 10 more minutes", I agreed after the third time she insisted. Next, she then escalated it to saying I need my whole face threaded & a facial because my skin is bad and "it was going to get worse as [I] get older". (Strangely I often get complimented on my skin and get told I have a baby face, so I knew something was off now). I finally firmly said no, though she kept insisting. She kept trying to upsell me by making me feel like I was the ugliest human in the room, I felt so bad and cried on my way to the car. And go top it all off, my eyebrows after the visit were threaded unevenly, thin,and the tinting job did NOT help the cause. Sadly, I really loved this place. Which is why I kept giving them a chance after my past few experiences. But after my experience today, I do not plan to return. read more

Was driving by when I saw this salon advertising $4 eyebrow threading. For that price, I was expecting a mediocre job but Shireen was excellent. Being new to the area, I was hesitant to find a new eyebrow place, but glad I walked in here. She not only shaped my eyebrows well, but was quick-handed and skilled which is key to have minimal pain during the process. Newbies can sometimes be very slow when they thread - making it a very painful experience. Next time - I added on an herbal facial - again with Shireen. This was pretty good as well. I've been coming here for a few years now. I also bring my mom. The ladies who work here are so nice and friendly! The vibe is great. They just need to play Hindi song videos on the flat screen there. There needs to be more chairs . I go around 1p or 2p and that's when it slows down. As my hands were drying , she asked if I wanted to do the other hand. This time she freestyled it and I was even more blown away. She drew it in under 10 minutes. I got so many compliments! I hate threading my eyebrows because of the pain and this place doesn't make the pain any better but it's better than other places. The key is to tell them to just clean up so they won't take too much off. The only issue I have is that the place is usually busy(a good sign!) so its never an in and out thing. The owner usually does the waxing and she's really good. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a cheap reliable threading place. read more

I accompanied my girlfriend while we were running errands. She's sometimes too sweet and has a hard time saying "no". It was hard to watch the worker insult my girlfriend and insist that she purchase more services to "fix" her. The worker's comments clearly hurt my girlfriend. Very disrespectful. read more

I liked how gentle the person was during my wax. However, I quite specifically said no threading. What does she pull out near the end?! Thread. Sigh. I'm already in the middle of it so I just bite my cheeks and bear with it. I say no to it because I always itch after and it hurts. Also it is just not precise. I gave her a picture of exactly what I wanted. Showed it to her, asked her if she was sure. She said she got it. What did I end up with?? Thin eyebrows!!! I don't look good in thin eyebrows. In fact I think most women look drag queen ish. If that look is for you, power to you. However, due to that mess up I have to wait and let it grow out for the next two to three months. I wanted to give this place a shot but ... I'm not sure. My friend loves this place but you have to be lucky to get the right person. I got the wrong one I guess. I usually wait until I come more than once... but this place is out of the way for me. What's worse on top of it... is she tried to up sell me, by telling me I have lots of hair on my lip! I'm Filipino/Japanese and I don't have much hair anywhere. Most of us do not, we are blessed in that sense... But to tell me my peach fuzz that is normal is too much hair is hilariously insulting. Always very friendly and great service. I always go in for my eyebrows and usually they come out great except for once this past time I just got them done, I will not say the name of the worker who did my eyebrows but this is the only time I have walked away unsatisfied. I thought maybe I was just crazy when I was seeing them after but as my day continued I noticed that it was very uneven and a little sloppy in my opinion. I will be coming back after one of my eyebrows grows out more to get it reshaped. But if possible, I would like to know the name of the usual workers so I know who to ask for next time so this doesn't happen again. Thanks so much. :-) read more

UPDATE: my previous review was a 5 star for the threader Ashwina. I am SUPER upset about my eyebrows after my appointment yesterday. All the stuff I mentioned in my review before that was bad and I was so grateful that it wasn't happening at Blossom---happened. I told my new threader that I wanted my eyebrows thick, that there are places that I am growing in and I want those to stay and that I wanted CLEAN UP ONLY. She even repeated "clean up only" back to me. Y'all...tell me why my eyebrows are NOTICEABLY much thinner and it is SUPER evident that one is thinner than the other. Yes. One of my brows is thinner than the other because terrible threaders in my past jacked them up. For 5 years I have worked with threaders to get that brow to be thicker and ALMOST matching my other brow. Is it still thinner? Yeah...however we'd gotten it to the place where they left hair in places that you'd normally wouldn't do that on my own--I could fill it in and match my other brow. In one appointment, the new threader botched it and sent me back to what all those other threaders have done. I'm sorry but how difficult is it to listen to your client? When your client says, "I want it as thick as possible. I don't want any shaping. I just want simple clean up. Leave these areas in, because I fill them in." --- why do you do what you want?? Honestly I'm really pissed about it. In no way shape or form do I like, appreciate or can stand thin brows. I have never liked thin brows. And now---I have thin brows. And it is infuriating. When she was done threading the botched brow, she said: "this brow is much thinner than your other one." That's when I knew she'd messed it up. Yeah dude---did you not see when I pointed out where I was growing them in?? From now on I'm booking appointments and I'll only go if Ashwina is there and can do them. There aren't words to express how upset I am. Your brows can completely change the way your entire face looks and I am super upset bc I look like someone straight out of the early 90's and .... ok I'll stop. My point is---one star for this recent threading, 5 stars if you go with Ashwina. And just a tip---listen to your customer, don't go rogue and do what you want. Even if you think what they're asking for looks strange---maybe they're asking you to do it that way for a reason. So trust them. Previous Review: I. Can't. Even. And I mean that in the best way possible. Many, many moons ago, my Indian mother baptized me into the threading family. In those days, most threaders operated out of their apartment and homes. The first time my virgin brows were touched by a threaded, I kid you not---my fist swung out and towards the threaders face. I could NOT believe the pain that served through me. 15+ years later ... I've continued getting threaded Bc there are NO results as good as the results you get from threading. Tweezers and wax never come near my face. It's threading that I use for both eyebrows an upper lip. Yeah----us south Asian women have that thick hair, and it comes in thick more places than just our heads. Over the past decade plus, I have been BURNED by bad threaders. I never went through a phase where I wanted my brows to be thin. I always fancied thick brows. So every so often, I would be the unlucky recipient of threading services of an over zealous threaded, hell bent on giving me pencil brows. SO---now, I don't let anyone even try to shape my brows. I ONLY request clean up. And I point out the places where I have tiny gaps Bc the hair won't grow back in due to afore mentioned threading sadists. I recently moved back to the DFW area. And with said move came a refreshing oasis of threading options that Austin was sorely lacking. However....afore mentioned sadists also reside in the area. So I was on the hunt, for a more mellow threaded who was going to listen to my VERY specific requests on how to handle my hair situation. Enter the threading goddess Ashwina. She saw the pure fear and desperate vulnerability in my eyes as I very firmly said..."clean up only, no shaping, straight and close together center, thick all the way across." She saw my sorrowful gaps in my brows and didn't judge me too harshly for allowing the previous sadist threaders to continue threading me. Whisper soft threading. Every time I'm around a threaded who has that whisper soft touch, I know I'm in the hands of a VERY skilled threaded. Trust me, the sadist threaders out there will make you feel,with their heavy handed pressure, like they're searching for and trying to suck out your soul through each and every hair follicle they pull out. No such experience with Ashwina. Angel woman. I could have hugged her---but I prefer to not invade people's personal space. Also----my total---$6.50. SIX FIFTY. Y'all. Y'ALL. I've been going here for almost a year and a half. They do an absolutely wonderful job with threading and waxing. Ashwina and Shireen both do a great job with my eyebrows, upper lip, arms and leg waxes. Very affordable, quick and nice throughout the process. I live in uptown and drive all the way to carrollton to see these ladies because they really just do that great of a job. As someone who has lived in Dallas all her life and been to a lot of the salons here, I have experienced some bad places but this is not one of them! I'm honestly so traumatized by my threading experience here that I'm writing this review at 1:20 in the morning because I've literally been crying all day, sometimes near breakdown hysterics and I can't go to sleep. I came here to get my hair trimmed. It's fine, not amazing; she literally just washed and cut it blunt (shorter than what I wanted but whatever, my hair grows fast and I'm not picky about it.) The entire time I was getting my hair washed and cut she was talking me into getting my brows threaded. I've never done it before. In fact, besides my mom (an esthetician) waxing it when I was a teenager maybe a total of 5 times ever, I've never had anyone else near them. Recently I had been growing it out using a brow serum because I have a dermatitis condition that makes my brow hairs fall out easily, which I told her about. I don't even pluck them myself because that's how paranoid I am about losing brow hair (which I also told her about). Luckily the serum was doing a great job so I had quite thick brows coming in that I loved. They needed a tiny touch up on the bottom near the tail of my brow that was the only concern that made me finally agree at the very end when she asked for the nth time if I wanted my brows threaded. So I finally said ONLY A LITTLE BIT AT THE BOTTOM HERE (and I pointed), she said she'd try one brow to see if I like it. Ok. AND THEN SHE DID THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE BOTTOM AND TOP????? It literally erased years of struggling with my skin condition and confidence in under a minute. I told her brokenly that it was too thin. She then got defensive and kept insisting she just cleaned it up. It was so thin compared to my untouched brow that I had to proceed with the second one being threaded to at least try to match. Luckily she didn't botch that one up as bad (AND SHE STILL TOUCHED THE TOP WTF??) but I left that place in shock. I processed it 10 minutes later in my car and literally broke down crying. Every time I look in the mirror now I get SO SAD. It may not be a big deal to someone else but my brows are the only things I try really hard on, and I just feel broken and embarrassed by them. I'm so traumatized by this experience honestly. I'm only writing this review because I literally can't sleep and I need to get this off my chest. The girls were nice and friendly but PLEASE, listen to your clients!! And if I already said no once, stop asking!! I felt very coerced. I don't even know how or when I will heal emotionally and physically from this. read more
