I have always enjoyed this location over most of the ones I have been to. The f layout of the store just makes sense and it makes things really easy to find. As with all craft stores such as Michael's, the pricing on most every product is very reasonably priced which makes it a whole lot easier to want to do crafting. Selection wise they do pretty good to be honest. The only real difficult thing to find is allot of items for Cricut machines as well as others that are past of a niche market. Not to mention products like this are expensive anyhow. All said and done, this is probably my favorite store (Wether it is the wife going on or myself). read more

I had purchased a $100 rotary blade cutter from this location. I was intending on using it for thin paper and it just ripped the paper instead of cutting it. I went in last night 7/19/25 around 7:50pm to return it. The man behind the counter did not appear to want to help anyone. I asked to do a return and he asked what was wrong. I told him what happened and he said he needed to call a manager. She said because I had used it I could not return it. I said their policy states if I am unhappy with my purchase I can return it within 60 days with the receipt. I only attempted to use it. Obviously I was not happy with my purchase since it didn't work for what I needed it for. She still declined my return so I left and called the Lakewood store. I asked about the return policy and told them what happened and they said they didn't understand why Lacey would not allow me to do a return. I had to drive 40 min to return my item. From now on I'll drive 40 min to spend my money. Lacey customer service is trash and they will not be receiving my business anymore. read more

The service was beyond terrible! I'm looking for needed items. I need assistance getting an item as they are locked. Go to the front where Angela is not trying to talk to anyone. She ain't stalking shelves, but playing with items on the side of store. I wait, I see an older gentleman, I'm talking like 85 yrs old, in a motorized wheelchair at the counter with his two young grandchildren, I'd say girl 5-6 and boy 3-4. He sits and waits. I wait. I finally go see her, because long before I make it to the counter I seen Angela and asked for service to get item. I ask her again, is there anyone that can get my item, did you even call anyone, she proceeds to call I'd say for the first time! Tells the other lady on walkie yes, isle 39. I finally meet a lady there and ask her if anyone works there, I've been waiting here for a half hour now. She says who's you talk to and acts as if she is gonna do something, then says oh here you go, is that all you need. I said nope! Then Angela at the front finally asks if she could help me as I get back to the front. The older gentleman is finally getting cashed out. So she let his continue to sit there when I walked to the back of the store. Again he was up there before I even walked to the front the duration time. I'd think you'd do your best to try and keep customers considering the world today. This happened on July 17th,2025 at 2:30 pm to 3:30pm. I hope Michael's sees this and you hire people capable of great Customer Service. I'll tell you I've never seen such bad Associates. That poor old man, and his grandchildren. I'll say myself included. Do better! Or find a place you love and you'll never have such days. You could improve your workers for a start! It's all about Customer Service. It doesn't matter where you are employed. Everyone reads reviews. It tells you where you don't need to go and where you should go. Also, where one won't return to based on experiences like this. I love Michaels. Granted the prices aren't always the best, you can often find things cheaper on Amazon. But it's so much more fun to just take your daughter to the craft store and come up with fun stuff to do. I always keep an eye out for the items on sale or clearance, which they have a lot of this time of year. Over all I think we ended up getting 3--4 different projects for about 50 bucks. Not bad and like I said, worth it for time with the kiddo. read more

I went in for watercolor paint. The lady had to unlock the cabinet and then, carry the tube to the counter herself. (I asked if I could carry it to see what she would say.) I paused and realized "This doesn't make me feel good about shopping here." You are assumed a thief because it is easier for them regardless of how it makes the customer feel. This is common practice at many shops now (probably especially corporately-owned?) and we have come to accept this treatment. Today I went to a privately-owned art shop in town. They had a much better selection, the tube was 3 times bigger and the price came out to equivalent of much less than half of Michael's price (same brand). This art supply store does not lock its' products up so you can relax and freely touch and look things over. I will not be going back to Michael's. read more

Needs to work on customer service. My kids and I were in there for at least 30 minutes and had employees pass by us several times and not 1 acknowledgement or a hello. Finally I spotted an associate and asked her for an item. She told me that she had no idea what that item was and that she was the last person to ask about it. If you don't know about an item, then the next thing to do is ask someone else right? Nope she didn't even try to ask another co worker about it or anything. I purchased a paint by number kit while I was out of state visiting my son over Mother's Day. I got home and was partway into painting it when I realized several of the paints were dry, or partially dry. I went into the Michael's in Lacey, and both the cashier and manager were extremely helpful. Despite not having my receipt and they not being able to find my order in their system, they gave me a brand new kit. That is great customer service, and I will be back! read more

Impressed with their curbside pickup. Placed items in trunk and verified ID through car window. Quick and easy.

So disappointed with this store. I used their curbside pickup and the associate asked me to open my rear gate, so I did... then she verified my ID and said, "oh I can't put it in the trunk because of covid" and proceeded to put in on the floor... then as she was walking back in, she stopped to help a customer carry an item as she was leaving... THE CUSTOMER HAD ALREADY REMOVED HER MASK! I've used their curbside before and it's never been an issue. She didn't even bother saying hello or thank you. This is why I shop at Joann's and Hobby Lobby. That associate can kick rocks and while they're at it, the rest of the store can too. read more

We told this was open when we called about it. Drove all the way here to find out they lied. Got the manager who lied to us and said all doorbusters could be bought on the app at the door buster price and picked up. Complete Lies!!!! Can only purchase the door busters in store. Called corporate office. Were told they should be open not doing pick up only. In the end got nothing for about 3 and 1/2 hours of time wasted on people not opening their doors as they are supposed to be. great experience with the framing dept. I brought in a couple of prints I bought while on vacation to get them framed. Paul the manager called a few days after I dropped them off to tell me there had been an accident that they had scratched one of them. He said he'd try to track down the photographer to get another copy. He was very polite, professional and apologetic. He kept me informed, made it right. Picked them up today, they look great! Michael's Birthday Party experience, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! The store itself is amazing for all things craft! However, the birthday party experience left a whole lot to be desired. The room is tiny, the space is awkward, the "instructor" didn't really interact with us or the kids much at all, she is not trained in how to facilitate or host an event. They promised invitations and gift bags and we got neither. The female bathroom was out of order, leaving only the male bathroom for six little 1st grade girls to use. It was just really disappointing. They talked it up a lot and they did not produce at all. read more

First in line while I waited for framing professional to get to the counter. She helped me for 2 minutes then said she was going to help the next customer in line while I chose a matte color. I stood there listening while the next customer was receiving help matting, framing and pricing. I left having waited 10 minutes without being assisted further and the second customer received all the framing professionals assistance. I will get my framing and matting done elsewhere. Customer service left a lot to be desired. I ordered items for home delivery and my order was never picked up. When I called to see what was going on with my order I was told the store had no control over the delivery service. That may be so but this woman couldn't give me any phone numbers for the 4 delivery companies used by Michaels. I ended up having to go online and chat with a rep, who was able to cancel my order for me. I usually spend $2,000.00 a year at Michaels but never again. Hobby Lobby here I come. read more

I don't shop here a whole lot, but I get my money's worth when I do. This winter was the season of crafts! My daughter wanted to make beaded ornaments to give to relatives this year. We bought a tub of beads and 2 packets of pipe cleaners for $12. It was enough to make at least 40 ornaments. I didn't have a chance to count all of them because she gave all of them away as soon as she made them! We also needed to buy her costume pieces for the Christmas play. For $4, we bought enough supplies to make 5 nice looking halos. Both of my grandmothers loved Micheals. They loved crafts and would buy all of their acrylics, poster paints, wooden frames, and flower arranging items here. My maternal grandmother would take me to Micheals for decoupage supplies. My paternal grandmother would take me here to buy shells so we could make Sailor's Valentines. Micheals is a pretty good store. I wouldn't suggest it for professional level painting, but it is a nice stop for crafting. The deals here can be fantastic. I know my mother saved a bundle on the decorations for my wedding reception by buying many of the items here. This is a great store for kids and adults alike. read more

I would not choose to go into this store again. The sale signs were misleading and when I asked the sales associate was not willing to help and had zero personality. I ended up buying only half the items I wanted because i was frustrated and wanted to get out of there. This Michael's store is the worst! They have certain items that they do not regularly restock. I recently started working with alcohol inks, and I Purchased some from this Michael's. For over a month I went back 1 to 3 times a week to check for new colors. In that month they never got ANY new inventory at all. I finally ended up going to Hobby Lobby to get what I needed. Their inventory on many items is limited. Also, their people don't seem too knowledgeable about what they do or don't have. All in all, I just decided to do my craft shopping elsewhere. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Michaels. It happens to be in the same complex as Target and Kohls so I stop here often to buy art supplies for my kiddo. While they do have a great selection of supplies for kids, you really should take advantage of any and all coupons you can use here because some of this stuff isn't so cheap. I'm super sensitive to smells and for some reason they put the fragrance and candles and oils and potpourri (they still make that stuff...) in the front of the store so that it totally smacks you in the face when you walk in. So, while I'm trying to pick out some fun craft to do with my kiddo, all I can really think about is my burning nose and getting out as quickly as possible... But that's kind of hard too because there is always a huuuuuuuge line and never more than two registers open. Grrrrrr. Perhaps it's time to find another place to shop. read more

My favorite craft store. JoeAnns is good for fabric but not many can beat Michaels when it comes to craft supplies. I don't really like how this one only offers military discount on Wednesdays. The ones I've been to in other states have done it all week. This one is also very very small. You still got everything you could want, just in a much tighter space. Michaels an be a nit pricey, but they always have awesome sales. THAT'S when you gotta go. For example, the frames were $50 off this time. Pretty good stuff!! read more

Virtually every time I go in, it's poor customer service. Even when the store is empty, good luck finding staff. I went in just after opening yesterday and bought a tree and other things. For a change, there was helpful staff. they had a sign saying free elf with a certain purchase. When I got home, I realized no elf. I went back today and they said they ran out early yesterday. Then take the damn sign down. I was checking out within an hour of opening. False advertising. The clerk I talked to, after waiting in a long line since they have no customer service desk, offered no apology and no alternative. This is typical for them. Always hiccups in the coupons, mis or unlabeled shelves, inadequate stock in advertised items. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Great location with a good selection of craft items and frames. This location also carries a lot of woodworking products that aren't available at other locations. Michael's recently began a loyalty program called "Michael's Rewards" which will rewards members with $5 for every $100 spent, plus a 20% discount welcome offer. There is also a birthday discount of 20%. Michael's is really good about giving coupons at time of purchase which can be redeemed the following week. It's usually a coupon for 40% off a regular priced item, so it comes in handy! read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced! I needed to return some items I ended up not needing. They were in a couple different receipts and the cashier looks at me and asks if I know what receipts belong to what items and I said no I don't but there's only a few things and goes "well can you figure out what items are on what receipts to make this a whole lot easier??" BUT in the nastiest tone ever and I said "YEAH I mean I don't understand the attitude?" And then she proceeds to not want to return an item for me and needs her managers approval, gets the "manager" she does the return but my cashier is insisting on not doing it. And then she continues to be so rude till we finished. I go the "manager" and express my concerns and she goes "oh..sorry.." and walks away. I never came into this store with any sort of attitude! I was so friendly and polite and then received the worst customer service! I typically love this store, but after being so uncomfortable in front of a bunch of people, I'll never return. read more

This location has the most terrible customer service. Don't try to call because they just answer and disconnect the call. I called for over an hour before having to drive to the store to see if they carried a specific craft item. They are understaffed and most employees are short with customers rude. honestly, i stopped shopping at this michaels because when it comes to using coupons and sales they dont even follow their own policy. even when you show them their oen coupon policy. & there just so expensive even with the coupon you can a decent deal. sometimes the cashiers are such jerks and have no respect for customers. you tell them that an item is on sale and use a sale coupon but then they say oh its on clearance not a sale. Umm i went back to where i got the item and pulled the sale sign on and she still told me clearance. i no longer shop at the lacey michaels cause they dont follow their rules. read more
