I was informed by sales rep Gary that they had replaced the transfer case. Shortly after purchase the 4x4 High indicator light started flashing. Finally had a chance to take it to a real mechanic. Front axles are not engaging when going in to 4WD, mechanic can hear actuator motor working indicating an internal problem with the transfer case. Quoted $3000 to $5000 to rebuild. That's just one of many mechanical issues that have been popping up that their so called "mechanic" over looked. Don't waste your time or money at this place, go to a reputable dealer or buy private part.

After dropping my car off, I got a text a few hours later showing me my brake pads. They said they looked nearly brand new and I definitely did not need them replaced. Along with that, they had much better pricing (aka not taking advantage of customers) for a few other items that I wanted to get done on the car. We will be Max Auto customers for life! 7/24/2026: Updating this review after a more recent, more complicated repair. My most recent repair was a rough experience. The car was towed in on 7/13 after we hit a boulder during a creek crossing and obliterated the oil pan. I was told on 7/14 that they'd get to it that day, but it wasn't actually looked at until 7/16. From there, the part had to be ordered and didn't arrive until 7/20. (I was later told that they did confirm the oil pan damage on 7/14, but the oil pan still was not ordered until 7/16.) While the work was scheduled to be completed on 7/21, the car wasn't ready to be picked up until 7/23. The bigger issue was that I had to initiate almost every single update myself. I'd ask "any news?" and get a status; otherwise I heard nothing, even on days they'd told me I'd get an update. At one point I was told "tomorrow will be the day," and then heard nothing again until I followed up. I understand that this was an unscheduled tow-in, and they told me at one point that they'd put other jobs aside to get to mine faster, but honestly, there never seemed to be any sense of urgency on their end -- our (only!) car ended up being in the shop for over a week and a half. It doesn't seem like the place for an emergency repair, since their schedule seems consistently over-packed, which makes it hard for them to actually prioritize anything, urgent or not. To be clear, I don't doubt the quality of the actual repair work, and I still trust their diagnostics and pricing based on my original experience. But the communication issues were enough to make me hesitant about coming back.

After calling several auto care shops in frustration, Paul and his team at Holiday Auto Care enthusiastically asked me to come on in so they could take care of my license plate dilemma (for free!). I have been coming here for my routine service ever since. I have been coming to Holiday Auto Care for a few years now and am really comfortable with the level of service and prices! I am the perfect candidate for any car-related business that wants to rip off a customer; I admittedly do not know much about cars, and it shows. I am guilty of the "call dad to ask if something sounds reasonable or if I am being ripped off, then call the shop back to approve or push back" pattern whenever I get a quote for any form of service. That being said, at Holiday Auto Care, I have never felt ripped off or like my lack of knowledge is being taken advantage of. Paul and his team are always upfront with pricing and are honest in explaining which services are more urgent versus which can wait until the next service appointment. I also really appreciate the emphasis they place on overall vehicle safety. I feel confident in the mechanics here and get a sense of peace of mind since so many of the services come with warranties. Holiday Auto Care also offers a AAA discount on labor, typically has some coupons/specials on their website, and sends out promotions via post cards and emails. The discounts can make a significant difference when applied toward expensive services. The shop is no longer as convenient for me as it was when I first started coming here, but I will continue to come back for the service and fairness!
