While they offer all the usuals: the aisles are janky, many half empty shelves, shelves not blocked and fronted, just a lot of things that pointed to poor store management. I go here often for various items. I really enjoy the seasonal items and small arts/crafts kits. I love all the colors and options. They also have a lot for projects too. I do think some items are very expensive for what they are. I love the option now for self check out. I think there could be better signage for this as often people are still waiting in line and don't seem to realize you can walk right up. I have to give a big shout out to Jennifer who was exceptional after the balloons I dropped off to get filled up somehow got lost. I was definitely disappointed as I bought specific ones for a theme party, but she called the morning of I was suppose to pick them up and truly was so apologetic and tried to make it right. She added in extras that fit the theme and really tried with their inventory. I like to shop here between seasons when things then to go on Sale. As expected, I was pleased to see several 50%-60% Off s8gns. There was a sign at the front of the aisle, so I gathered up silk flowers to make 2 bouquets. When I got up to the register, there is only one person up there. They try to get you to work for them by having you check yourself out. When I stubbornly stand still, they see that they are not getting free labor from me so they offer to ring me up. While going through my items, I noticed the items were ringing up regular price. For example, one pompas frond was ringing up as $19 when I was expecting 60% off. The Manager stated that any item with a white tag is their "regular" items and those never go on sale. She then asked me what I wanted to do ? I told her I was not willing to pay those prices and they needed to fix their signage. When she walked me back to the area, she showed that just ONE SIDE of the aisle is on sale. I would suggest they designate a special area for sale items so as to alleviate confusion. The items on both sides look similar just various colors. So tip: don't believe the signs and it says the flower is on sale, but the tag is white. OK, so the other bouquet was all Halloween and that all definitely had signs on it. Thought there would be no problems. Wrong. I didn't realize until I got home, but 3 items rang up MORE EXPENSIVE on the receipt than the tag on the flower. What a little racket they have going !!! Not only was it more expensive before the discount.. which meant I paid more than I should have after the discount, but if I had working for them for free, I wouldn't necessarily have caught it. Just scanning things willy nilly. The manager applied an additional 25% discount on my total for my bill and it was a good th8ng she did or the welcome mat would have rang up incorrectly too !!! There was a sign above the Halloween welcome mats saying 50% Off. At $29, I was charged $15 ! However, with the Manager appeasing me with an additional 25% , I was correctly was charged $9.99. This is a chain arts and craft store that is super crowded compared to the other locations. They have a shared parking lot with plenty of parking that is uncovered. You can get some good discounts if you have the app or coupons from the online site. Staff are OK but hard to find. Every time I come here you have to lol hard to find them. Upon entering the store, I saw that they had myriad Christmas items on sale for upwards of 50-70% off. However, in February, these items should have long been sold. There were nice items that should have gone for next to nothing. I guess that's why the store is holding on to them. Another customer shared that a staff member in the front of the store told her that the prices would not be lowered. I had a horrible experience with Chad in the custom picture frames area, that would have been over a couple hundred dollars sale. I had already picked out double mating and a large frame the week before with a wonder sales guy. Chad refused to uphold the sale price that was happening that very week and gave me some twisted around story that made no sense at all. You lost a customer for life and I now go out of my way and only to the Stonecrest location. It's a while since I was here and this Michaels deserves and update. Shopping for a Christmas present because my wife has taken up painting and there were some very specific paintbrushes on her list. While they had lots and lots and LOTS of art supplies here, this store in the Park Road Shopping Plaza is smaller than some of their other locations. A helpful sales association looked up the item we wanted and pointed us to two different stores that did have them in stock. So A-OK for helpful folks even if they don't have absolutely everything. First of all, unlike the unadaptable folk in the rest of these reviews -- the self check out is GREAT to me. It's easy. It's intuitive if you know how to read. It makes checking out with any of the coupons or rewards even easier. And as long as you have a brain, you can check out fast and easy. As for not knowing it's there and waiting in line for nothing? I don't know y'all just use your eyeballs good grief. It's no one's fault you're unobservant. I'm being serious -- open your EYES. Why is it a companies responsibility to hold your hand the entire time you're shopping? Should you be allowed out without a companion to watch you? Did you drive to get here? LOOK AROUND. you waiting in an invisible line is entirely your own fault. Secondly, I never come in and have a bad experience. The staff is as knowledgeable as you can expect for the wage they are paid for one. And they are kind as can be. If they are "unkind" to you, I recommend reflecting on your own actions and tone. If they are "unhelpful" to you -- I can guarantee they were but you are not someone who can be helped (been in customer service a while -- people are always helpful to you in the best way they can be, you are just often entitled and incapable of understanding things and policies that do not validate what you were already wanting or thinking.) sorry! End rant! Seriously though, Michaels keeps up with the different art style trends and therefore the supplies you need to accomplish them. They stay stocked and with as reasonable a price as the market allows. On top of that the rewards are astounding. And if you're able to have the credit card and use it responsibly it's a game changer for your art and your business if you have one! This is an enormous Arts and Crafts facility. We were here on Black Friday and everyone was loading up on gift wrapping paper and Christmas ornaments. Much better quality and more of a selection. Items were depleating fast because of the sales as well as the demand for holiday items. Was able to get an ornament for the Christmas Tree top. My friend got over 20 glass ornaments. Plus extension cords and other goodies. Staff at cash register were friendly and helpful. Had so many glass items that had to be wrapped to prevent from breaking. Be prepared for long lines. It took them a while to open another cash register. Watch out for ladies with flying shopping carts. read more

When this was revealed to me it was another customer who advised me of the do it yourself, no Michaels employee in sight. As fate would have it, I was able to tell the customer who was also waiting for a cashier that the store was serve yourself. The screen for starting was very confusing. Likewise if I'm already frustrated by the lack of human interaction, why on earth do I want to enter my email for offers and instant coupons, basically Michaels pushing their sales tactics?! Next I had to leave two items I needed on the counter because the items weren't price tagged, no sales person around. The staff are not particularly informed or helpful. Pro tip: Go to the Michael's website on your phone, type in the zip code, and get the coupons for the store. If you want to get your "crafts" on, Michael's beats everyone else hands down. Located in the Park Road shopping center, this place has just about everything you could possibly want or need when it comes to doing something artsy. For this particular visit, I was looking for a cheap frame for a gift I was giving someone that had a love of my photography...........hey, it was the least that I could do. I shoot and print 99% in square format, so I had low expectations I'd find an inexpensive frame with a square format mat...........I was wrong! They had a nice little selection of them, but that isn't the great part about this review. This place has a ton of stuff just to be goofy with.......as my GF and I proved (see included pictures)....the place is just too much fun!!! If I could give 0 stars for this location I absolutely would. Tonight was one of the worst experiences shopping of my life! I was running in and out for one thing because I am passing through town. When I was chest bumped out of the store by a middle aged African American employee and told I was going to be dragged out by my hair for not leaving fast enough or engaging her threats or taunts of not speaking English well enough. I always enjoy coming to Michaels for my craft goods. The staff here is friendly and always willing to help. The 40% off coupon they offer everyday is a big reason why I shop here. Seasonal stuff in the middle, scrap-booking stuff on the left, frames/artwork at the back, misc stuff on the right. I usually find myself in the painting isle looking at acrylics and brushes. You can always find cool stuff set out in the middle of the aisles - I have fallen victim to the occasional impulse buy here. Store empolyees are pretty friendly and the store is kept in good condition. Mind the busy Park Rd Shopping center parking lot on your way in and out. This Michael's rocks! I decided to travel over to this location from my usual one closer to my house because mine doesn't really have much stock. Let's just say that this location has just about anything you could ask for when it comes to painting, crafting, planning, DIY supplies and they have an awesome clearance section too. I found everything I was looking for and more and found some really great things that were marked down, in addition to all the awesome stuff they have as a weekly special. I'm a planner girl and so I love The Happy Planner from MAMBI and all of the accessories that go along with it like, washi tape, dividers, hole punches, stickers, pens,etc...If you don't know that there is a whole big planning community out there that is using paper planners that can double as scrapbooks, you need to talk to uncle google about it. A former friend introduced me to the planner world last year and Michaels is apparently very hip because they carry all the goodies. In addition to planner stuff, I scored some really great stamps, ink pads, thank you cards, paint, and even got an Alice in Wonderland Disney Pop figure for under 2 bucks in the clearance section. Let's just say that I will use up the extra gas and go the few extra miles to patronize this Michael's because I'm in love. And if you're wondering why I took off a star, it's because the bathroom is really gross and I can't stand nice stores, in nice neighborhoods with old, dirty restrooms. This is a smaller Michaels, but they still have everything I need when I go. As of August 2018, it looks like they're renovating the inside! They've moved the floral department to the backside and moved all the decor/home goods stuff to the front, like a Hobby Lobby. There are literally always sales and coupons available! DON'T PAY FULL PRICE! Download their app and join their rewards club and you literally get at least a 40% off one item coupon for every visit. I love this location because it's located conveniently at Park Road Shopping Center. I hate this location because Park Road Shopping Center is so busy there's never any regular parking. Your best bet is parking on the side of the building, but then you can only go west on Woodlawn Road. At my visit yesterday, I was specifically impressed with the associate named Yahav. It was a crazy Saturday with a 30% off coupon and she was still so calm and patient with me at the register when I needed to do two separate transactions. Show it to the cashier and get your deal of the week! - scrapbook paper selections are awesome! - bakery supplies for decorating a cake - lovely variety of Christmas ornaments - and the list goes on - a tad bit messy and cramped in the store - the minus, wish they had a better selection of floral decor. If you're a person that loves writing with good pens, this is going to be your spot. Frixion, Pilot, Sharpie, Tombow and then they even have their own brands! They have the kind of pens people wanna steal from you. (Keep your pen guard up at all times, y'all. Good pens are hard to find and harder to keep.) I went in to buy some shadowboxes to make some memorial gifts for my aunts and uncles. Those things were regularly $30. I got them for like $5 each. EACH. Seriously, get on the email list and open them every day. They have some of the craziest sales I have ever seen. Ever. So you just gone come in my inbox and tell me this thing is 70% off AND THERE'S A COUPON FOR ANOTHER 20% OFF?! WHAT?! (Yes, I often yell when there are amazing deals in my face. I can't help it. I'm a bargain shopper.) My whole wedding was basically crafted by Michaels. From the pink/peach/white peony pomanders to the spray paint that covered my Dollar Tree vases, I got it all at least 50% off. Mostly more. That's what you call a decor score. *I didn't intend for all of that to rhyme, but here we are. Also, if you want to decorate for any holiday, it would behoove you to get in there and peruse their clearance after the holiday is over in prep for the next year. Their Christmas stuff is 80% off right now. 80%. Seriously. At 80% off, they basically stick it in your hands and shove you out the door. What else? Oh! Parking is bananas. Like, there's plenty of it, but for some reason, this lot is almost always insanely crowded. If you're going on a Saturday, go early. Like, as soon as they open early. This particular location is very organized and clean however when you're looking through the aisles you can get quite confused. You can't really see where anything is unless you walk up and down aisles to finally find the item you need. However, there is an aisle where there are cheap home decor pieces that are pretty cute! Some things are overpriced but don't worry, you have the Michaels app! On the app/website you can find all sorts of coupons and deals that make your purchase a steal! The floral section isn't too large so I left empty handed, but I found a great holiday wreath for my door. This is a great little Michaels. It is an older location and like that. A neighborhood feel. They have lots of supplies to choose from and a large fine art section that's surprising for a smaller store. Eveyone is friendly and helpful.
