Super cute yarn shop in the charlotte area! My mother in law indulged my desire for fun yarns and took me to a few yarn shops while visiting for Christmas! Stash Charlotte has a great selection of yarn, knitting/crochet needles, and other knitting and crochet supplies! The cashier was very friendly and easy to talk to as well. The yarn prices ranged from low teens to low 30s which is pretty standard for a local yarn store. Overall, a great spot! read more

This shop is a maker's paradise! Gorgeous yarn, beautiful fabrics, and an atmosphere that just bursts with creativity. The staff is so friendly and genuinely excited to help you find your next project. I left totally inspired -- and it feels amazing knowing I'm supporting a local business that truly cares about its community. I'll be back for sure. read more

Great yarn, great fabrics, great service, and cute shop. I enjoy this shop for fabrics I rarely see anywhere else.

Absolutely amazing shop! I purchased a Janome machine from here. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the machines. I was able to test the exact machine before purchasing which made my decision to purchase so much easier! They have a lovely assortment of fabrics, yarn, and many Janome parts and accessories as well. She offers many classes that I hope to attend as well. It's worth the trip! read more

Great local yarn shop. Wonderful people who are part of the community. Love their support.

Great fun yarns to keep knitters happy! They are true community leaders. Support this small business.

Stash Charlotte has always had a great selection of yarn and always supports new knitters/crafters/sewists/crocheters. I am sad that I moved too far away to stop in monthly to check out their new items and suggested projects. Staff are very helpful and the store is clean and bright and well stocked. Go visit Stash Charlotte for your fiber needs! read more

Absolutely amazing people. Great selection; I cannot speak highly enough of this store for all things yarn. The service is A+++.

Stash Charlotte is a bit like a speakeasy for yarn...but well worth the effort to find! Amazing selection of high quality (some even locally sourced) yarn, notions, fabric, and friendly staff. Fiber nirvana! Be aware, it is on the third floor in a shopping center and shares an exterior door with another business. Again, definitely worth the effort to find! read more

Stash Charlotte - A subset of the amazing yarn I got at Stash Charlotte! - Knitting Supplies Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Lovely store! I don't knit or crochet, but I have family members who do. I will certainly purchase some yarn here for gifts! I sew clothing for myself, and I've bought some fabric here. I do wish they had a wider selection of apparel fabric, and hopefully they will add more to their inventory with other fabric stores in Charlotte closing down. The fabric was a bit pricey, but lovely all the same. I LOVE that they sell Liberty Tana Lawn, but I haven't been brave enough to splurge on that yet. One day! read more

Disappointed in the service I received when I had an issue. I selected four fabrics that I thought were all in the space price range (~$12/yd). Turns out one of them was $36/yd. The lady cutting them looked up at me and said "Oh gosh this one's $36 did you know that?" I said no and that I didn't want it, to which she told me I had to buy it since she cut it. I had just told this sales woman that I don't have a job and I'm hand making Christmas presents. I don't need to spend $18 on half a yard of fabric, no matter how pretty it is. I was alone in the store, first time ever buying fabric, and felt pressured not to make a fuss. When I told my mom, she couldn't believe they got away with this against a clear inexperienced customer. Anyways, I could have looked at the price but the way they handled it when I wasn't okay with what happened was extremely disappointing and I won't support their store in the future. read more

Such a calm, clean and soothing space to enjoy looking, touching and purchasing yarn. I like that they carry local yarn. Their own brand of 100% Superwash Merino is so plump and squishy! read more

This review is based on my one phone call to Stash Charlotte. The person I spoke with was not able to help me and suggested I communicate with somebody via email through the website. I was asking questions about how to find something on the website and the person said "you can look at it or not" and hung up on me. I don't know of the quality of their merchandise or their knowledge; however, I will never find out as I will never enter that store based on the rudeness of this person. read more

Lucy is one of the kindest, most well informed store owners I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. The store has wonderful fabrics, and yarns. I picked up a really pretty Sashiko kit. This has become my go to store for knitting supplies. read more

Went to this place when I was in Charlotte for the weekend. This place is really cool. I little hard to find - it's in the back of a strip mall - and I went in the wrong door. They have a small area for classes and that's the door I ended up going through. Overall a very nice shop. The staff were friendly but not pushy and they have a great selection of yarns and accessories. Very well organized, which is nice when you are browsing. read more

The new owner, Lucy, is warm, funny, and a lot of fun! She has done an amazing job with her shop. She has curated a selection of yarn that is beautiful to look at, wonderful to touch, and interesting. I love that she has local yarns - Queen City Dyers and Echoview. Her notions and accessories are all top notch. I am from CA, but when I am in Charlotte, this is my LYS! read more

Nice little shop. They have chairs to sit and knit when you first walk in. Selection is smaller, but all of the weights and fibers are represented. Carries some Plymouth, Noro, Universal, Rowan and others. You can probably find something to knit from here. read more

What a lovely store! Super friendly people and gorgeous, squishy, ethically-sourced yarn - much of it from indie dyers - made my visit a pleasure. I'm glad a winter storm kept me in Charlotte an extra day so that I could shop at Baskets of Yarn! read more

The owner of this store is really friendly, helpful and genuine. You don't see that in every knitting store especially if you happen to be younger. She had a nice selection of yarn, books, patterns and needles. I always try to visit yarn stores when I'm traveling and I enjoyed my experience here. read more

One of my favorite charlotte area yarn shops. Great yarn selection.... great people. I love that there is a healthy home market in the same plaza. Definitely recommend this place if you have years of experience, or just getting started. read more

Stumbled upon this shop doing the Yarn Crawl 2014. This is a fantastic yarn shop with great prices! All of their employees were super nice, helpful and friendly! It is a little challenging to find the store, but worth checking out! read more

Great shop, not all of their employees are the friendliest, but the owner Patty and her mom Nancy are fantastic. Sometimes open knitting can get a bit crowded so if you go, get there early. And while they don't always have enough to do a sweater or a large project on hand, if you ask they can order it for you in the color that you need. read more

I was driving around while on break and saw the store. I just recently got into crocheting and those inside were very helpful. The store has beautifully crocheted and knitted items spread around the display area near different types of yarn. They have classes and I enjoyed conversing with both them and the customers who came in the store. Very cute labels and awesome people. Can't wait to attend knit night on Tuesday! read more

I am so happy to have transferred custody if my beloved yarn store to Lucy. You will find her to be knowledgeable about all things fiber and full of great ideas! A must stop if you are in the Charlotte area. read more

My first time trying to contact this LYS only to get an answering machine! They're open limited hours, open NOW, but got a machine! I don't understand why a business doesn't answer their phone, especially when they're having a sale...I don't want to drive 25+ miles and not find what I want. Just saying.... read more

I've been knitting since I was five, and I went into the dog sweater business. Any sweater $5. I had a lot of Chihuahua's for clients, so I did pretty well. That is, until a Great Dane showed up for the same price. I've been knitting off and on since then, but always the same pattern. At Baskets of Yarn, I not only learned a lot of new patterns, I found yarn I never dreamed existed! My knitting has gone up to a whole new level. What a beautiful shop, what a wonderful place to go. Can't wait to go back. read more

A wonderful shop with a huge selection of yarn and helpful staff. Lots of knitted samples to help you decide what to knit or crochet.

This is my home away from home. Always very helpful and their yarn is outstanding. Have attended retreats hosted by shop and thoroughly enjoyed my time. A must to visit. read more

I went here for the first time on Saturday, I'm so glad I did. What a nice place, after I found it! Patty and her mom were so kind and helpful. I think prices were fair, and selection is excellent! I don't live in Charlotte, but I am there enough that this will certainly be one of my 'go to' yarn shops. Thank you for your kind and warm customer service, ladies! See you after I use up all the yarn I carried out Saturday!! : ) read more
