I love Michael's and all of the different products they have. However, this is by far the worst Michel's location I've ever been to. I had the absolute worst customer service experience of my life and it was truly upsetting. It seems the majority of sales associates have no product knowledge at all. They were extremely unhelpful. I just asked one simple question about where the product would be, it was like they were offended that I was asking for help, even though it's their job. A man ran after me screaming, "ma'am, you can not take the basket off the premise." I went to Michaels on N Victory Place in Burbank to order custom frames for over thirty of my paintings. I was at first reluctant to arrive with such a huge order, and was concerned about the quality of service, patience, and attention that would be given to such a large order. When I arrived at the custom framing counter, I was greeted and welcomed very kindly by Ivonne, who was soft-spoken and very courteous. I began with the selection of a frame for the first painting. Ivonne gave very insightful advice and demonstrated artistic taste while carefully selecting the most suitable and affordable frame. I was extremely pleased with Ivonne's help, and confident that if I chose all the remaining frames with her help, I would have no problems at all. I have now chosen frames for all the paintings, and have spent a few thousand dollars very happily and satisfied with all the choices. Ivonne remained extremely patient and discerning in finding the most appropriate frame for each one of my art works. Her courtesy and eagerness to help only grew with each frame she helped to select. I feel I have gained a real friend at Michaels. The five star rating I am granting her does not do her enough justice. I am quite impressed by their quick response time in regards to same day delivery. I actually ordered after the 1pm cutoff time on a Sunday and my order was picked up within 30 minutes of placing it. My wife bought a puncher that was the last one of its kind on the shelf. She came home and tried it but it was not working well. We came to the store with the receipt, there was no puncher like that (ran out), but even if it was, we don't want the same problems, so we went on to buy another type - a cheaper brand, thinking we can return the non-workable one, Then we discovered that the store's policy is that if the item is open, even if broken, it can't be returned! you can exchange it, but only with the same one (as if someone would be silly enough to do it). In this case, there was no other one.... So the manager was "accommodating" enough to exchange it with the cheaper product after we insisted. However, we ended up paying the higher price on the cheaper product This is bad policy and really not customer friendly! read more

I like this location. Everyone is really helpful, and you find what you need quite quickly. Its located in the Burbank shopping center off Empire avenue, really busy shopping center. They offer coupons online if you sign up for their newsletter, and they send some pretty good coupons. This has been my go to place for crafts and holiday things in Burbank. read more

During this quarantine situation going on, I understand that employees must be exhausted trying to attend customers through curbside pick up. Although that does not mean employees should be extremely rude to customers. I picked up my order today and one particular employee wearing a yellow bandana over her mouth gave me her attitude when I just asked her if my order was ready. Her tone of voice was not necessary. An employee like that should get more training with customer service OR should not be working there! I grabbed a couple stuff and during checkout the cashier that assisted me, Coraima was amazing! She answered all the 100 questions I had and was very detailed with her answers! When I asked her for advice on some of the DIY that I was doing she suggested better products for me to use! I was happy that she was the one who assisted me as she made my DIY project come out flawless! Let me tell you a little story about how this Michaels, and specifically the framing department, is the worst place on Earth. So...I bought two BEAUTIFUL silkscreened, limited edition, hand-numbered concert posters to display in my home. I went to Michaels to look at frames. I figured I'd bring them to my workplace (we sometimes deal in posters and other framed items). I did not intend to have either of them "professionally" framed because my co-worker could do it for free. As one of the posters was screened with glow-in-the-dark ink (cool, right?) I asked the guy at the counter whether or not the plexiglass was going to prevent the thing from looking as badass as possible. We got to talking, and stupidly I let the guy to talk me into having him frame them for me. I agreed only because the hooks were facing the wrong direction, and he said he could remove them and attach a rope that would allow them to hang vertically instead of horizontally. He asked if I wanted anything else done to help "preserve" the posters, recommending spacers, different plexiglass, etc. ...I said NO to everything. I made him note on my order form that since I was letting them out of my hands I did NOT want the posters mounted in any way/shape/form. Just put the posters in the frame, seal up the backs, attach the ropes and be done. You can guess where this story goes. Everything looked fine when I got the posters, but after a couple weeks I noticed one of the posters didn't want to sit straight on my wall. I realized the rope was attached unevenly. So I took the poster into work with me and asked my co-worker if he could remove the rope and align it properly. He said he could. He also offered to remove the paper and reseal the frame because Michaels had left the original hooks in place and they were tearing through the paper and looked sloppy. I don't know why this crossed my mind, but I told him so long as he was opening up the frame, check to see if they'd followed my instructions and NOT mounted the poster. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later he came back and said the poster had been wet-mounted (the worst possible, most-destructive and de-valuing process there is). I raced home to check the other poster. It too was wet-mounted. I was livid. I called Michaels and asked to speak with a manager. A guy, Wayne, came on and I explained my story to him, mentioning how I specifically told the guy in the framing department not to mount the posters. Wayne told me that Michaels had a special machine they could use to un-mount posters, and he could run it through the machine and fix the problem. Although I've never heard of such a device, I told him I would consent to bring back the posters if a) they assured me they could undo their mistake or b) refund my initial $71.93 payment for the frames. Wayne agreed. I returned to Michaels asked for Wayne. To my surprise, IT WAS THE SAME GUY who I initially dealt with on my first visit. He shook his head disappointingly as I retold my story, then apologized. He said the employee who first helped me had been fired and was no longer working there (!!!) and that he would fix "that other guy's" mistakes. I was too stunned to call Wayne out on his BS and tell him I knew HE was that other guy. He reiterated how their machine could loosen the adhesive and allow them to un-mount a mounted poster. And, oh, by the way, if it didn't work Michaels would buy me another poster. I told him how there were only 50 made and I doubted I could find another. He believed the machine would work, and told me he'd call me in 2 weeks with an update. I waited a month, then I phoned Michaels and asked for Wayne. He told me the machine didn't work, and that if he tried any harder he might ruin the posters. As a consolation, he offered to help me out by giving me free top-of-the-line custom frames. In response I said, "Better yet, why don't you give me with your store's insurance information so I can open a claim with them." He said he could do that, just come back to the store on a specific day/time and ask for him. When I showed up he was not there. I asked the girl who was working that day for the store's insurance information. She said she spoke to Wayne and was given permission to offer me those totally awesome custom frames free of charge if I wanted. She could not give me the insurance contact information. I asked for my refund for the initial cost of the frames. She could not do that for me either. So I asked for the posters and I left. To reiterate: Michaels ruined my posters, Wayne both lied to me and misrepresented himself when promising to help fix the problem HE caused. As such, I've been left with NO recompense or hope of resolution for this egregious and careless mistake. I'm usually a calm and easy-going guy buy...just thinking about that moron Wayne and his complete and utter FUCK UP makes my blood boil. Screw Michaels. I'd give 'em zero stars if I could. read more

I recently put together a backyard party over the summer for my birthday, and bought an endless amount of cute mason jars ranging from small to large sizes. They always offer me coupons to knock down the total which is always pleasant. I can walk around this store forever and never get tired. read more

This review is for their FRAMING Department. I went to the Aaron Brothers across from this Michaels at the Empire Center for years for all of my custom framing. Sadly, Aaron Brothers is closing and they referred me to Michaels. There's even a sign at Michaels Framing Dept that the Aaron Brothers style framing is there now.... This couldn't be further from the truth. I took a very fragile, expensive poster to be framed, came to pick it up and there was a HUGE WAVE in the poster!!! I was so upset that they thought this was okay... of course I pointed this out and the girl was like "ohh yeah....ok so you want us to fix it?" YES. Got a call a week later that it was fixed, came to the store and the lady said it was NOT ready...?? Several days later I get a call from the same lady letting me know that she moved the spacers behind the poster but there's still a wave but "you can't really tell". I NEVER had an issue like this with very similar posters at Aaron Brothers. I'm shocked that a custom framing rep would say "you cant really tell" when clearly the job is not being done correctly. I'm picking up my poster, getting a refund and taking my business elsewhere. read more

this is a fun store if you're creative. and if you're not creative, then it's not a fun store and you should get some good hobbies! now, i don't sit there and scrapbook. or knit. or make photobox collages of myself to give to others as lovely gifts. but once in the while out of the blue i will send a handmade card or gift because i'm not a bad artiste and i know some of my friends who are more classier than i's am, like and appreciate that handmade touch. anyway this store has everything and anything you need for a fun arts and crafts project. i only discovered it because i needed satin ribbon to tie someone up i mean to tie a present up with. but i was in martha-stewart wonderland galore at the glue guns, the sequins, the fake faux flowers, the decorations, the t-shirt paint. seriously. fun kind of sillly things that me and these annoying shrieking little girls dressed as princesses were all looking at. there was also a real heavy-metal goth rocker dressed in black leather and studs looking at stuff. so really... there's something fun here for everyone. me likey. read more

I called to see if they had a product in stock and the woman who answered said "just a moment" and I was put on hold for 10 minutes before I decided to hang up. I called again and waited 5 minutes before calling a third time. This time I told the woman that no one was answering when she was transferring me, she responded saying that there were thtee other people waiting and immediately transferred me again, and then someone must have picked up the phone she hung it up. Because of this annoyance, I decided to drive there - only to find that they closed at 9pm rather than their listed store hours on Yelp which is supposed to be 10pm. They have a huge selection of art supplies and the app helps in locating items but if you want to confirm they have an item call ahead of time and put your items on hold. I went to this store about 9 mod ago. I asked a floor sales person for double sided fabric tape to keep my girls from popping out of my dress and she didn't know what I was taking about. The best she could do was to take me to the sewing section. Come to find out my, fellow bridesmaid, went to a different Michael's and the sales rep that helped her didn't know either but she had an earpiece (as did my rep) and called a co-worker for help and they found the double sided tape or "Hollywood Tape" in the wedding section.
