How ridiculous to be on hold for 18 minutes no answer and they hang up the phone
    Angela B.

This was a very unsettling experience from the customers point of view. No one should ever feel like this and I'm sorry that this happened to so many other people when returning at this location. Today I walked into the store for a return around 8pm. I had some items with a receipt & quite a few without one. I said it's fine they could look it up on my Michaels card. I did not want to drive all the way back home for something they do within the store. Walked in around 8:00pm Levi was kind and was helping the new employee while doing my return. Once we got to my pink lights that is when things got really weird. Some guy with no name jumps right into the convo talking sarcastically, as if he's being nice. And without finding out what the real issue was, he takes one look at my receipt and starts assuming that one item was stolen automatically. He didn't say those exact words, but body language and eye rolling and whispering behind the counter mean while aggressively pushing us out the door to the Glendale location where we first purchased the item was a bit much. I did not want to cause a scene so we kindly left. He assumed that the Glendale location didn't scan the item when I had 2 receipts. There's some weird technical issue when you price adjust. Be careful if you come back to return the item. When the price has already been adjusted there's a weird alert that says that the item has already been returned. I did not figure that out until I left the store. I called the store to inform the no tag guy but who ever picked up the phone right away said hold please and left us on hold for a while. I then called with my husband's phone and the same thing, this time left us on hold for 18 minutes and hung up right when they closed. What kind of ridiculous customer service is this. After this review I will be reaching out to corporate. There's no reason why we are treated with smiles when purchasing, but when it comes to returning, It's like pulling teeth. If we're in the timeframe of the return, then there should be a return. If your employees cant handle it, then change the policy instead of making customers feel incompetent.

** Dogs Welcome ** ** on leash ** I called first to make sure this location was still Dog friendly. The team member I spoke to said Yes we are Dog friendly in fact we are SUPER Dog friendly. Which is music to my ears as they say. The store was crowded but manageable for a Sunday afternoon around 1pm. Store was clean and organized for December right before Christmas. The team member I spoke to to find something was very helpful. They have self service check out terminals which made it faster. User error on my part I entered coupon code manually but a team member said you need to scan it to make it work. We parked as far away as possible as it is safer and easier to get Betty out/ in of vehicle. The whole parking lot was full except for a few spots facing side of West Elm. Fine by me to walk a bit to not hassle with parking. There is a long walkway bordered on right side (as you are headed to Michael's) with gravel and plants. Perfect spot to potty you furkid before going into Michael's. (See attached photo). The last time I bought ribbon it was $1.79 ha now it is $4.99. BUT sign up for Michael's emails/ texts to receive coupon codes like 30% off a regular priced item. Or you can google. Definitely recommend this location and we will be back.

Michaels is my go to store for custom framing and general picture frames. The prices are reasonable and they always been able to get the framing done within a reasonable time. I'm not much of an arts and crafts guy but they seem to have a large selection of decorations and they always dedicate a large space for the current season. I recommend you know what you're looking for before coming to the store because it's nearly impossible to find an employee on the floor for any assistance. They always seem to be understaffed and there is usually a long line at checkout. The aisles can get a little clustered and it's not the easiest store to find what you need. Five stars for the framing department and three stars for everything else.

My fiancée and I came to this Michael's to look at things for our wedding. This location also has free wifi, there was notice in the front entrance about it. The first thing we went to look at was the flowers and vase for them. This Michael's was fully stocked when we came and the whole store was nicely organized. The flowers we saw here was nice and the table numbers with their stands. They also had a lot of helium tank for balloons if you're looking for that. The employees were helpful and friendly when you talk to them.

It's self checkout now. There's only one register with a person and they will only help you if you pay cash and they are very unfriendly , abandoned by management who is still not hiring staff for this store . The store is mysteriously devoid of employees but if you are resourceful you can find cool things, especially go when they have 50% of sales, also ALWAYS use your Michaels coupon , go to google search on your phone and type michaels coupon and have that ready for check out. It's 20% off a regular priced item. You will use the scanning gun at the self checkout and scan it off your phone.....

Bought a mat and promptly returned it before leaving the counter. It was dirty and dented on a few sides. Not worth it.

I see why this location just has a 3-star rating and why Aaron Brothers and Hobby Lobby have higher ratings. I hardly come here but when I do it is always packed and the line to check out is long. This is a popular store for crafters. The shelves are labeled unlike another craft store in town, Hobby Lobby. Parking is fine in the Empire Center. There are pretty much always spots open though so that's good. The reason for the two stars is because I really have had better at other Michaels stores and across the Empire Center parking lot at Aaron Brothers. Michael's just doesn't cater to what I usually want, framing supplies. They have frames and framing materials in the back by their custom framing section, but you have to ask for assistance to see the mat boards, which are in their back room. I usually purchase mat boards at Aaron Brothers but the last time I was in there they didn't have the color I wanted, a pale yellow cream. So, I tried Michael's. The lady at the custom framing counter let us into the back to view the mat boards, but she appeared in such a rushed mood that we hurried up to pick a color so we could stop bothering her by wanting to see them. She kept tapping her fingers on something rather hard and quickly the entire time, sending us a clear message to grab a color and go. We asked why they were in the back room and she said they would get destroyed if they were out in the front. At first I thought, great, they will be cleaner and less beat up in the back. Big upon inspecting them, we realized they were mostly bad! Worse than I had ever seen out in the front at Aaron Brothers or Hobby Lobby. So I just pointed to a couple of decent looking ones and told her I wanted those. She carried them to the counter and then realized one had a huge cut about 25" long down it. She offered $2 off but I asked for a new one. She found a better one and then charged me $35.02, a huge amount of money for two May boards! They wouldn't take the 40% off one item coupon for a mat board purchase so I asked if I could just buy one of them. She then charged me $17.51 for one but after I paid my boyfriend noticed huge dark fingerprints on all four edges about a few inches in on the colored side! I never even touched the board. I immediately returned it and went across the street to Aaron Brothers, used a coupon and spent $23 and got two mats. Next day I went to Hobby Lobby, used a coupon and spent $7.87 and got one mat. What's the moral of the story? Go to Hobby Lobby for mat boards. They are cleaner, easier to get to, and less than half the price of the mat boards at Michaels!

I've been in the morning as well as before closing. It's always busy. Guess it's a good thing on their part. Like mentioned, I don't recommend coming in for the last minute holiday decorations. You would think as it's early in December, they'll have some things left over. Well, majority of things are gone. Loads of the isles have been cleared already. I've even seen some employees taking down the fixtures already. It's good for them but if you're looking for the decoration, I do recommend coming early. Like a month or so. They have them out early and most are on sale. It's still half off for Christmas items. You'll still get things there as they have random stuffs. But majority of holiday items are gone. I don't know if they'll restock anything now but if you're not looking for something particular, I'm sure they'll have it. It's also a store that literally carries everything. It's basically a Joann's, Michael's and a Home Goods all under one roof. There's everything that you can want or need in a craft store of such. Also, why is it that all the store seems to be short with cashiers. There's always a massive line in the store and there's like 3, maybe 4 cashier. If you coming, just make sure not to be in a rush. But I'm sure you'll end up leaving with one thing or a cart of things. They alway do have amazing discounts.

So really there is nothing to worry about here. There are a ton of product versions, and there are samples for all of them, but still it is hard to know without trying. I wish they would sell "Test Kits" which would be enough just to mix once for about $5. (Hint to Owner). They do sell "Kits" which are about 2lbs but these are too expensive to play with. My other small gripe is those wide mouth containers with screw lids. Those really suck. I waste a lot of material pouring out of those which sticks to the side and needs to be wiped with paper towels. I am wiping away my money. I think I should take away a star just for that, but I think the owner will read and consider this. Those are OK for silicone but epoxy needs a narrow diameter cap. Anyway, the mold-making silicones are superior. I got the hang of using those without need for a vacuum, even the viscous types. With care, they last a long time for epoxy castings. I tried the silicone from the competitor nearby which is crap. I have been able to do a lot with the slow set epoxy products. All they need is heat and they work well. I would stay away from the fast epoxies. Their fast epoxies are super toxic and brittle. They are also strongly tinted. In this case the competitor was better with a super hard and strong fast epoxy (But hard to mix). To be honest, the prices here are a little high for me, so I can't do much. These products are designed to sell to customers with business budgets and I buy for craft applications. I am able to avoid this expense by sometimes using coupons in the hobby stores. Then I get half price of Silpak. As far a silicone goes, I find no substitute. See my photos. I use tricks to get around Silpak's High Prices. I love R2234 platinum but can't squander it. So I back-fill with RU440 urethane. With practice you can get a 1/3 platinum to 2/3 urethane ratio or better. The trick is to use natural fiber string/rope/fabric to bond the layers. Platinum won't stick to urethane normally, but using fibers you can. Go to Home Depot and buy cotton or sisal type natural fiber string or rope. Do not use plastic string! Coat your form about 1/8" thick with platinum by pouring or brushing on with multiple applications. The string can be spaced 1/2" apart and run around the inside perimeter of the mold. You can use tape to hold it in place. Put the strings into mold with tape and start layering the silicone. It is also possible to wait to the last application of silicone and dip the string ends. Maybe even just throw string cuttings on top and let them get slightly imbedded. I prefer to have string ends fully imbedded. See my photo for getting out bubbles with balloon pump for platinum. I prefer to have the two ends of the string embedded and then a loop of string at the top. Something like spaghetti. When done with silicone push string spaghetti below level of mold. The next day just pour the rest in urethane. Whammy-O! You can also add more fiber cuttings to the urethane mix to save even more money. Dan will tell you "Not Recommended". Screw That! I have two dozen molds this way that are still working. What's good about Platinum/Urethane composite molds? Other than the money you save because urethane is half price of platinum, the molds are more stretchy. Platinum is hard. I have trouble ejecting the castings. With urethane back-fill the castings pop right out. This works like a solid full mold as if it were all platinum. You need not play with plaster of Paris molds in two parts. Keep in mind there is more labor to make these molds. Better to use this formula for larger molds. As far as the staff goes, they always hire knowledgeable people with slightly odd and eccentric and/or difficult "Personality Issues". (That's my opinion) You have to get used to it. It's not a big deal, but takes a little adjustment. Thanks for reading this Goose Review.

I ventured into the "Come (On) In" area and discovered some complimentary artist guides, incredible artwork and extra items I was seeking for a sketching event I hosted over the weekend. Love coming in on Saturdays, though it's been several months since I was last in, hoping to change that, check out more of their events, including some great some shows this holiday season like their Medley. I don't have much to submit by their deadline, but highly recommend you do if you're an artist, aspiring artist or creative. They definitely are neighborhood feel with some cool regulars. Caught some warming interactions and references to Cheers (the 80s to early 90s series) between the staff and a really nice returning customer. I'm not sure if Kelli was there when I stopped in, but I've had some greatest response with her in the past online when inquire about things. Everyone is super knowledgeable, mindful and respectful. Ready to assist, but also let you take your time exploring and feeling out all they have to offer. Street parking primarily with a 1hour limit from 8am to 6pm. Some limited spaces in their back alley parking, that I'm sure is super great for their staff/ the Carter Sexton family. Its first come first serve, but you might get lucky. Open from 10am to 6pm Monday through Saturday weekly with some variations for holidays. A must whether a local, passing through or seeking out a small biz to support that does great things for the area, and showcasing a spotlights artists of all walks of lives and ages. Even Bob Ross on display wants you to check out this great supportive Art spot. "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents."

One of the iconic treasures of the LA art world. It has an amazing history (it's the oldest art…read moresupply shop in Los Angeles), it has materials I've literally not been able to find elsewhere. Also, it fosters community, hosting monthly art exhibits which local artists can submit to. The prices are very reasonable. The staff are helpful and kind. Each month's exhibit has a theme, and there's always an opening reception. Unlike many art shows, Carter Sexton's shows don't ask for money just to submit your work. Only if your work is accepted and you choose to participate do you pay a modest fee ($15) which is a great deal, because the shop clearly spends a lot of time making placards for each piece with the artist's name and mini-bio, and then hanging the work. You can sell your exhibited work and/or sell prints of it. I'm so grateful for the community this place fosters!
