Ominous staircase to ascend to the play area
Carey I.

RWT collective is what happens when someone takes the idea of a trading card shop and says what if we made it a lifestyle? Located right in the heart of little Osaka this place is less store and more TCG headquarters. The kind of spot where cardboard is currency in late nights are mandatory. They do all the games, One piece, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic. If it has cards and rules that require a YouTube tutorial, they're playing it. Weekend tournaments, of course. Late night events until 11 PM on weekdays? Naturally. Sleep is optional, but top cuts are not. The vibe feels like someone's basement if a basement were clean, well lit, and professionally organized and stock with absurdly good selection of sealed products, singles, collectibles, and merch you didn't know you needed it until five minutes ago. It's cozy without being grimy, intense without being unwelcoming, and somehow still manages to feel like home... Just with better inventory and few folding chairs. Well actually a lot of folding chairs. This is a full on community hub for West LA's TCG lifestyle. There are vendors, artists pop-ups, in-house merch, there's always something going on, and if there isn't, someone is probably play testing for something very important. Casual exist, but make no mistake. Organized play here is a serious business. Take notes, give feedback, and shockingly. If you raise a concern, it actually gets a trust. Revolutionary. It's nice to see someone taking organized play seriously. So if you're looking for a chill place to dabble still fit in. If you're looking to sweat over a deck list and meta calls, congratulations you found your people. It isn't just a shop. It's a cardboard powered social ecosystem. Come for the cards. Stay for the community. Leave wondering why your own basement isn't this cool.

I went to RWT to drop off a TAG submission in person. After dropping off my cards, there seemed to be some delay in the transition to TAG, and I'm unsure if it was on the store's side or on TAG's. However, when I brought up my concern to RWT, they offered me a full refund of the grading fees and made things right. It is seldom to find a business of any kind that will put a customer first that way, and I am sincerely impressed and appreciative of how they handled this situation, especially when it wasn't clear what caused the original issue. I'll be dropping more cards off in the near future, knowing that I can trust RWT to put their customers first.

Best LCS in the area. The staff are incredible and treat everyone so well. They have a wide variety of product and also host well run tournaments.

Been coming here for a customer for over a year and been shown nothing but love.

Always have what I need, able to preorder most things if I'm attentive enough and remember to haha

I'm a private Pokémon card collector that has never ventured into the world of buy/sell/trade, so I decided I'd call a few shops in the area to see what they'd recommend, and this is exactly how this conversation went. Guy answers phone, i asked him if he had a minute to answer a couple questions i had. "i mean i have a few people I'm helping right now but yeah sure" I proceed to explain that i was looking for guidance or advice on how to offload my extensive Pokémon card collection as I'm moving out of the area, and i was wondering if they had a buyer or something of the sort that would sit down with me and run through it to see what they're willing to buy, etc. He responds, "oookay. Are you planning on paying someone for that?" Confused, i asked what he meant? "Basically what I'm getting at is no, we don't do that. I have a guy here that's really knowledgeable about that kinda stuff but i wouldn't wanna waste his time" I thanked him for his "candid" (read: completely rude) response and that i would look elsewhere. Needless to say I'll never step foot here again.

I'm surprised that there aren't any reviews on this place even though it has been here for year,…read moreand i'm just as surprised as to how it stays in business. j-style is located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace between Tendon Hannosuke and the Shiseido booth/counter. They sell Japanese trinkets, gadgets and plush toys as well as auto accessories like long giant rear-view mirrors, covers for the steering wheel, car fresheners, etc. It's a good place to poke around while waiting for your Santouka ramen or something, especially around lunch time on a weekend. On this particular day, I wandered in with a specific purchase in mind. My +1 likes to Waze while driving but it's dangerous to keep picking up the phone to look at directions or look at notifications from nearby Wazers. My goal was to buy a mobile phone car mount for a hands-free driving experience for the sake of everyone's safety. I was poking around and the lady was quick to ask if I needed help. She explained the different types of mounts (air vent, windshield, dash) and that those on the windshield need to be installed carefully in accordance to the law, or something about being particular as to where you can legally stick a mount on the windshield. She opened several different packages for me to inspect and compare. After a bout of unnecessary indecisiveness and much waffling in my head, I finally purchased a mount that sticks on the dashboard. The configuration of the air vents for this particular car doesn't quite allow for easy glance if the phone were to be there, but air vent mounts would have been my first choice, if it was for my car. I paid cash and walked out of there before claiming my lunch tray from Misasa. The mount was $30, which was a lot more than I'd expect or would have wanted to pay but it would have been inconvenient for me to find another place that had the variety that I could touch and feel, and purchase right away. (For my own car, I got a $15 one from Amazon). Results - it didn't stick so well at first but my +1 finally found a spot that was agreeable to the car. Overall, a pleasant experience at j-style. It's good to be able to touch and feel products before buying and this store provides products that you might not be able to find in other English-only stores.

What it lacks in space, it has a nicely curated layout and selection of toys, party favors, games, books, coloring/art toys, costumes, accessories for girls and stuffed animals. I came in here wanting to get a gift for a 2 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. I'm picky when it comes to toys and games. I don't like plasticky gimmicky toys and want something that isn't offensive to look at. I'm a design snob. They have a range of items for different ages from newborns to teens to adults who are young at heart. They have branded superhero and Star Wars stuff for boys. For a last minute party, they have a cute selection of premium party favors and paper ware from Meri Meri and other brands. For the 2 year old boy, I found cute simple wooden puzzles depicting animals driving different construction vehicles. For the 3 year old girl, a great coloring book with cute cartoons of snacks and sweet treats and got a stacking rainbow heart colored crayon set. Complementary gift wrapping is simple and elegant. Brown paper with colored ribbons. Nicely designed gift tags and bags with the store logo. But I was super tempted to buy one sheet of Meri Meri gift wrapping paper - so cute and modern - for myself. I have two young kids and will definitely take them back here for a small treat!
