Walked in looking for material and asked the young lady in the front and she said aisle 20. Went there and no material. Instead of going all the way to the front of the store again I found a man in a back room and asked him and from the start not friendly at all. He just said over at the end of the store. I said that I went to the aisle the young lady had told me and he actually looked at me and said, no you weren't there. I said excuse me, I was there. He said no you weren't. He brought me to an aisle that I was not told that's where I should be. I looked at him and said this is to a competition. I let him know that he owed me an apology and he walked away. I asked him if there was a manager that I could speak with and he said, I don't know. If you're working you know if your manager is there or not. Asked to speak with a manger and really did did not get a good feeling that anything would be accomplished. I told him that all the man had to say was that he was bust and he would get someone to help me. Rude does not make I better. I will not be going back to that store. read more

Big shout out to Kathleen, the cashier in Michaels in Brookfield, CT today. She took the time to help me with a project for a baby shower. She was kind, courteous and helpful while she alternated assisting me and monitoring the checkout register with attention to the customer's needs. Kathleen should be commended for her outstanding customer service, which is rare in today's world of retail sales. Took a baby sampler here to have framed. While the framing job was beautiful, they stained my cross stitch!!! When I brought it back, they were quick to say they would try to fix it but then the manager called the next day to say there was nothing they could do. Granted, I did receive a refund and was able to keep the framing job. But the money doesn't make up for the time and effort put into this project, and now an ugly stain is stuck on it. I've tried a few cleaning options but it isn't coming off. Extremely disappointed and will not bring my framing projects back to this michael's in the future. read more

Great stuff for younger kids, I get a lot of my picture frames here when they are on sale. Store can get crowded and cluttered though.

I've spent more time here because I'm making my own stuff for my wedding then any other place, I'm kind of sad that when the wedding is over, I won't be in here as much. I like this store a lot, 80% of the time they have what I'm looking for. Make sure you always have a coupon or you'll be spending more then you want on your craft supplies. Overall the store is clean, it can get overwhelming when you enter, it's pretty fun to look at all the great stuff they have. As far as selections of products, this store has good inventory. I usually am able to find what I need. The products are arranged in a pleasing and tidy fashion. The prices are in keeping with other major crafting stores. I know you're looking for the "but." The staff is not particularly knowledgeable or solicitous, especially when. It comes to using coupons. I recently was applying a competitor coupon to one of the items in my purchase. The cashier said, "We don't accept competitor coupons." I politely informed her that the website says otherwise. She immediately called for backup, which was fine by me. The coupon keeper discounted the item, but was surly when I inquired further about the policy. If the policy of accepting competitor coupons did in fact change, I wanted to know. She gave me a noncommittal answer and was put out that I even asked. Being friendly is an important part of being in the service industry. While everyone is entitled to an off day, I frequent this store enough--though maybe less now given the repeated annoyed attitude given off by the workers-- to note that the workers, and one in particular, need to work on customer service. I hope corporate reads this and forwards it to the store manager to remind workers that being pleasant goes a long way. read more

Just spent 30 min picking out items for a necklace project. Half of the items were beads that had a BOGO promo advertised above them, only excluding clearance items, which I had none of. Went to get rung up and not only did item prices not match (e.g. a $3.99 strand rang up as $5.99) but apparently the promo was not applicable to anything. Talk about false advertising. My total was nearly $100. No thanks. I walked out with nothing. They have lost a customer for good. read more

Terrible customer service! Had trouible downloading the coupon from my phone. Not only was the casher impatient with me, but when I called the manager after leaving the store - he actually lied and said they couldn't give out coupons. BUT while waiting in line I saw the other cashier do exactly that for another customer who had the same problem! Will do my shopping for crafts at a different location from now on! read more
