Upon answering the phone, Jamie was extremely defensive and said she would not be giving me a credit or a refund without bringing the piece in first and continued on about how this was an oversight and didn't warrant a review. Bottom line: I called to try and set up another appointment and instead she decided to ramble on to me about how inappropriate of a review this was. I tried in between her continual angry rant explain that I was not able to contact her first about it. When I picked up my piece I tried calling. After her response to my review I tried calling. Jamie became progressively became rude and argumentative despite me just wanting to support a local business. Again, I tried calling multiple times even after I left the place with my project. I waited on hold multiple times, left a message, and attempted to communicate this to her, but she only continued to argue, despite my minimal engagement and direct statement of intent to inquire about the post she left and come back. Terrible customer service. Honestly left the phone call shaken by how a customer could be treated for wanting to come back and inquiring about the response to a review. Disappointed because we had fun the first time and wanted to try it again. Update to Jamie's response of slandering a customer: Never did I ask for a free session! I called asking to set up an appointment for tomorrow and asked since I was going in what my options were for the project that the original post was about! Maybe if she wasn't so busy accusing me of being "inhumane" for an honest review she could have understood what I communicated to the first individual who answered the phone!! So after being yelled at by her and my character attacked for writing a review I told her I was no longer interested in bringing my piece in as it was a gift anyway for someone. Jamie came on the phone ready to just argue and accuse me of being a bad person for writing a review. It's hurtful to be accused and responded to this way for vocalizing my experience. Over the phone Jamie was extremely disrespectful and disruptive. It's unbelievable to be accused of a false review for stating my experience and being extremely disrespected. Sorry Jamie, you will not intimidate me or bully with your business practices or argumentative behavior.

The location is for this event was Saturday at Michael's Porthole 92 New St. Oceanside, NY. This location is not easy to get to and if you don't have a GPS or a good map you can be lost. Even with a GPS we were a little confused because we "Have reached our destination" but still almost 2 block away and going in the winter time there is no one around on this dead end road to ask for information.Luckily we found Michael's Porthole. The painting area was setup in their large bar room that remind me of a beer garden. The structure is no permanent, a canvas cover roof so it was pretty cold when we arrived. I had to get two cup of hot coffee before I warmed up. I recommend getting here early to get the best seat you can; many of the seats were already reserved for groups. The available open seats were on the ends or sides of the room and the lighting can been good or bad. I prefer a bright spot so I can see better. Before you start go take a photo of the sample painting put up by the instructor so you can look at it at your seat. The Instructor has a headset and walks you through the whole 2-hour event. Two assistants were helping the students and the restaurant staff is always available for drinks and food. Yes, some people were eating burgers and painting at the same time. The whole painting experience was fun! Some people are very good painters and some are there for the fun experience. Check the internet for discounts. ***Note: the locations inside NYC has a surcharge on the Groupon deal. That was why we went out to Long Island instead of locations in Queens.

Bigger Issue: We emailed Yaymaker informing them of the issue and we only received an canned response: 'thank you for the email', etc..., with no corrective action or compensation for the poor quality of resin. I cannot recommend this resin coaster event. It was truly a big disappointment! Apparently Yaymaker does not have any customer service integrity and do not stand behind their product.

Both adults and kids loved the whimsical caricatures. It was fun overhearing kids say, "That's ME, mama!" Evan even supplied plastic sleeves for each drawing so that guests could bring home the caricatures safely.
