I get the thing home and go to put it together and realize it's missing 3 screws. I was able to find almost everything I needed for my projects except for thick gold metallic cord or yarn. The store was neat, things were in their proper aisles, the ladies room was very clean and the staff was friendly. I was the 2nd in line so there wasn't much wait time either. Manager must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Totally walked past me after coming to her for help and she asked me to wait. No problem, she was helping another associate. A few minutes later she walked past me and I had to follow her on my knee scooter and asked her if she was looking for me. She ignored me, another customer had to ask me if I needed her. They sell packages with everything you need for the specific craft and it is so helpful. They also have frames, games and anything you would need to get your craft done. I was passing through the area with a friend and we saw this place so we went in to get some stuff to make candy with. I also wanted to get some artificial flowers and ribbons to make the flower wreaths that I often wear on my head. I was able to find everything very easily because the store was so well organized. The aisles were neat and everything on the shelves was pulled forward and prices clearly marked. The store was a good sized one and had a variety of items. The prices here are very reasonable as well. I liked the people who were working there and they got my sale rung in at the register quickly and efficiently. Great place to get art supplies, odd ball parts and pieces for projects. Frames and photograph books and binders. Really, a little bit of everything. Plenty of parking, they are a big chain so you tend to find these stores in the bigger strip malls throughout the state. Really good staff. My husband and I stopped by over the weekend to look for craft supplies to help us with our Halloween costumes. Dave was looking for some grey felt and a plastic gem. We found the gem we needed without any problems. The felt was a little hidden, but a kind associate brought us straight to it when we asked him. I had no idea what my Halloween costume would be before entering the store, but by the time I left I had a very cute pirate hat ($4) and a foam sword ($5). This Michaels location is fairly large and fairly well stocked. The aisles here are well organized, but if you are new to the store it is a bit tough to find the items that you are looking for. The biggest downside to this location has to be the staff. I had difficulty finding a few items and when I asked they seemed off put by having to answer my questions. Went here today after going to 5 other stores looking for what I thought would be a simple frame to locate. I needed something that would show the front and back of a picture because the one i have is double-sided. Michaels was the only place that carried something like this. Granted, the frame was EXTREMELY pricey, for what it actually was: two thick pieces of plexi-glass that were magnetically held together...$16 and some change just for 1 frame. Whatever, I knew I saw a coupon in Sunday's globe so I was hoping that the cashier would let me borrow the store's and apply the discount to my order. I ended up buying 4 of these frames, so the coupon could've helped a lot. When I went to pay, I asked the cashier to borrow her coupon and she rudely said that don't have one and that they aren't doing that anymore...her attitude was extremely unpleasant especially since I was there a couple weeks ago and another cashier offered me a discount. Disappointed with the Braintree Michaels store. I visited the store this Saturday, and just a total disaster. This store recently moved across the street from the Ivory Plaza to the Pearl Plaza on Pearl Street in Braintree (exit 17 off Route 3). This location is very busy, crowded, congested, and small, not making a great experience. Definitely smaller than the previous location across at Ivory (so why did they even move?). I was surprised that there was a long checkout line, but they had all of the checkout registers open, so they were trying. I guess I was just annoyed with the store in general, as it was not a normal Michaels store, and with the whole entrance/exit and parking lot. This area is in desperate need of a new Michaels, can't wait for them to open in Stoughton. *If shopping here, make SURE to use a coupon. They have them ALL the time, or they match any Jo-Ann or AC Moore coupons. I normally keep a few 40%, 50% or even 60% off on my smartphone. This Michael's seems to be declining in quality as the months go by...It's very cramped, very disorganized, and just feels a bit dingy. They had everything that I needed but it wasn't easy to find! Items weren't located where you would expect them to be. I happened to pick up a frame that was missing a tag (Hate when this happens!) and it took about 6 employees and 12 minutes to figure out what to do. This was after I offered to run back and grab another. They then used the little walkie talkie to tell the cashier the price. GREAT! I am not into the whole craft thing, but was at this Michaels recently for a children's Rainbow Loom themed birthday party. The party room was very small, and it was quite cramped. However, the instructor was very engaging and kept the kids busy for almost 90 minutes. My daughter says she learned a few new things about the Rainbow Loom thing, so that is all good. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that this location is a little "old/dingy/rundown", but they are apparently moving next month across the street into a newer facility. read more

I can usually find most things that I need and the price is comparable to Amazon.com if I use the 40% off coupon. I went into Michael's earlier this afternoon and I had one of the worst experiences ive ever had there, I was going in to buy three custom frames however when I got there they are specialist was on break which I am fine with people have to eat. So another gentleman comes out "Jim", I tell him that I am looking to purchase custom frames for a puzzle, and a t-shirt, he then asks me the measurements, so I pull out my notepad on my phone and I tell him in "inches" and he hits me with "we can only do American measurements, and we need your puzzle on-site." I told him that I talked to someone previously about not needing the puzzle in store and he responds with, "just bring the puzzle in, its that simple."*then proceeds to the back before I can say anything else* *The problem is that I was just lied to over the phone wasting my time. *Jim was rude, I am sorry I am born with pigment and do not own an "American" puzzle sir. *Employees have face masks on though.* read more

I'm no longer able to give Michael's 5 stars. U only got the 1 because I'm forced to give one. This was my go to for all my business supplies. I'm a baker. You have everything I need. I love this store. So to be robbed during covid 19 is a serious kick in the throat amd wallet for me. Ive sent numerous emails.. messages and even reached out to the ceo. Nothing. I didnt even get the sound of crickets for a response. Even customer service bia phone is a total fail. March 23 I placed a curbside pick up order. The next day the state was ordered to close all non essential business. My order was cancelled. I received 12 emails. 1 for each item in my order. All of them telling me I'd get my money returned to me. Nothing. I've gotten nothing. Wait.. that's a lie.. I still get several emails daily from u with coupons and craft ideas. No shortage of those. I had to place a separate order through amazon. I got it in 2 days. So I'm now out double the money. And Michaels is pretty much showing me " ha ha too bad. We took your money ha ha ". I will leave this review anytime you pop up in my newsfeed until this is corrected. I want my money back. And you've lost a customer who literally spent thousands of dollars in your stores. Michael's in Braintree, I want to like you better... I really do... but you're testing my frustration level lately. The last 2 times I've visited there, I wanted to remain optimistic, but I'm running out of optimism that this place will continue to be my "go-to" craft store. I'd give you 1.5 stars if I could but I don't think you deserve 2 so I'm dropping you down to 1. 1st "incident". I went there around Labor Day to get some white-chocolate melting discs. They were marked "buy 1 get one [either free or half off... can't remember exactly]". Great, I thought! So, I picked up 4 bags. I also picked up a couple of other crafty items that I needed as well. I went to check out, and Helen was my cash-register lady (remember her name... it comes up a lot in my review). As Helen was ringing me out, I noticed that I wasn't getting the deal on the chocolates, so I mentioned it to her. With her usual confused air, she asked what the deal was supposed to be (um, you work here, I don't... why are you relying on me to relay the deal?). So I told her. She voided out the order, and again, it wasn't showing up the discount. She called over another girl and she, too, wasn't seeing the deal. So, Helen said, "Well, it'll go through ONCE YOU PAY." Um, excuse me?? I have to actually PAY to make sure the deal went through? Lame! I said, "That can't be right." So Helen, again confused, said "Well, I'm sure it'll go through once you pay." Yea, right; whatever. So I neither paid nor did I make a purchase. I bought my candies elsewhere. 2nd "incident". Today; I went and bought a few random things. A couple of stockers were loudly complaining about something as I was shopping... tacky, girls; very tack. When I was ready to check out, I was 3rd in line (1 older woman was paying, another woman in front of me was booking a party, then me). A guy (customer) walked up asking if any of the other registers were open. Helen (yes, there she is again!) was at a register but the light wasn't on. However, Helen decided that she would take him anyway. Thanks, Helen! I've been waiting for about 5 or 10 minutes and this guy walks up and you take him first... Nice. So, fine, whatever. The older woman was done with her transaction, so the cash-register lady said to me, "I can take you" (and gave me a pleasant smile). i walked up (around the party-customer-lady). Immediately, the cash-register girl (not the nice one... the one helping the party-customer) "cut" in front of my nice cash-register lady and said in a real snarky tone (to the other cash-register lady), "I've already started ringing her up" (indicating the party lady). Then she snottily said to my nice cash-register lady, "Can't you just wait??" WOW! So, I exited this situation and went over to (you guessed it!) Helen. She started mumbling in a passive-aggressive way that I've come accustomed to, "Why do they keep sending people over to me and I'm not even ready. I have no coupons. We're supposed to give out coupons." So fine, whatever. She proceeded to ring up my random items. Among some random stuff, I had 3 large diamond-looking paper weights. All were the same except for their colors (one pink, one red, and one clear). The pink and red ones were labeled with a price bar code, but the clear one was not. So, Helen (again, mumbling to herself) said, "Do these have separate bar codes for their colors? Ah, yes, they do. [Then, to me, she said] Can you go over and get one with a tag on it?" Excuse me, Helen? You want me -- the customer -- to go over to get another one with a tag? Yea, right. (Don't want to sound like a princess or anything -- had I noticed that it didn't have a sticker I would have gotten one that did have a sticker to avoid this hassle.) So I said, "Can't you just use the red one? I know they're marked differently, but can't you just use that one?" She said (I swear), "Well, if the store runs out of the clear ones because we used this red bar code..." at which point I interrupted Helen and said, "That's not really my problem, is it." So, we continue to check me out and another item doesn't have a sticker (not my lucky day! I need to be more observant next time). Helen mumbled to herself about she can't believe that "they" (whoever "they" are) don't put stickers on these things. I tallied up my order, paid, then left. However, Michael's, I'm sick of your less-than-customer-service attitude I'm getting lately. As others have posted, you're neither the only game in town, nor are you (anywhere close) to the cheapest. You've got all these alleged high-end craft items and charge us, sometimes, through the nose for them. For the prices I'm paying, I would expect -- no, I DO expect -- better service. You need to do some mystery shopping to experience what I do all the time. I'm either going to find another Michael's (perhaps in Hannover) or just skip Michael's altogether and go to Joann's or AC Moore. read more

Well Judy you are rather rude. I was in there today and I think the employees are wonderful. Some very nice, bright, cheerful, young women (I would say in there teens, I'm not going to use their actual names, unlike some people, because I'm quite sure they would enjoy their privacy and not have people talking about them on a website they've probably never even heard of.) helped me. They showed me where i could find what I was looking for and helped me out a lot. The store was crazy busy today and they had all of the registers open so the line moved pretty quickly. I had the woman previously mentioned by Judy ring me up. She was very nice and pleasant. I had no problems with her. She's a little bit on the older side so you should expect her to be a little slower than the other workers. Give her credit though, she's still working. You are a judgmental person who needs to gain some patience. I had a wonderful experience at this Michaels and they will be getting my business from now on . read more

Even though Michael's carries plenty of beads, I don't buy them here. Their seed beads are not good quality as many of them are made in China... But, I DO get canvases & painting supplies for my larger bead-paintings. I also buy sheets of acid-free matte board from the frame shop. Usually you can find a 50%-off coupon in their mailers so it's not a bad deal, but otherwise, I think the store is quite pricey. I have also gone here to have some artwork custom-framed, and they always do a great job, but again - pricey - even with the coupon... read more

Went here to frame a large print. They were not helpful at all. The kid working the counter was nice enough, but knew nothing about framing. I like Michaels but they are pricey. This place has a LOT of stuff and is fairly well stocked. Everything here is kind of picked over though and can sometimes get really messy. I love coming here during the Halloween and holiday season, they have a ton of seasonal crafting materials usually on the cheap. I prefer AC Moore myself though. read more

Michael's generally has so much arts & crafts stuff, plus classes, party-favor type things, and baking needs. I wouldn't usually go there for my knitting needs, but at least you can return unopened needles with a receipt, which you can't do at many other specialty shops. However, this store has even less of the super general selections than other Michael's stores, like the one in Everett (which is also T accessible). They also don't have the grand 2-aisle toy department like other Michael's. If I could give it 1 & a half-star, I would, because the staff can be nice. Also, the drive from Boston is not nearly as nightmarish as that roundabout in Everett, and it's a short and not terribly sketchy walk from the Braintree T. Just go during the day. read more

I took a cake decorating class here last year - I did learn a couple new things and it brought out my creative flair so far as cakes & cupcakes go! This place is awesome for cake decorating supplies, they have a TON of Wilton stuff and sometimes you can catch when the cake decorating teacher is there and shoot ideas off her, very cool! Also good selection of framing supplies for you to do it yourself! However, I did an in store pick up and designated my friend to help get it since the store was not easy to get to for me. What was supposed to be convenient made things much more difficult. My friend doesn't know anything about art stuff so I figured instead of giving her a list of things, an employee who should know what the items are can just gather the stuff. Well, the employee gave my friend the wrong item....HOW? It is not even remotely close to what the order says. As far as craft stores go, this one is definitely a hit - always has what I'm looking for and the employees are kind and willing to help, BUT what WOWed me most about this store was Yvette who does custom floral arrangements. I came into the store about a week ago with a last minute project for my friend's wedding to get bouquets and boutonnières made for her wedding (her fiancé is allergic to flowers and this project has gotten put on the back burner until I volunteered). Yvette and I spent about an hour together brainstorming what might work for the wedding and were able to come up with a plan. I finalized the order and was thrilled when I picked it up today (not even a full week later!). Everything had come out wonderfully and truly looked beautiful. I am so thankful to have found Yvette who truly saved me from spending hours on my living room floor trying to make floral arrangements myself! The mood I was in was lousy so what else should I do but go shopping. Well, the young man at the register Shawn (hope I spelled it right), was THE nicest guy. He was so polite and he just has a great sense of humor. He reminded me about coupons and sale items. Shocking that someone who works at a store would actually help others to save a buck or two. As I was in the aisles just looking the others working were really helpful also. Being pleasant and funny sure makes me a happy customer. I had an oil painting mounted and framed. I picked it uoup 2 weeks later and noticed when I hung one of the two paintings the right side was bubbled/warped. The framer Steven was very pushy when I first went. He said that I needed glass but I knew I didn't and that i did not want glass which I told him. So when I went back to have them fix it he told me I would have to pay for remounting etc. He was rude and dint care about what the problem was. He didn't take my information for the manager to call me ... I have to call him. I was very upset esp because the painting means so much to me! Went for the kids pumpkin decorating today and found out the cheapest pumkin to purchase was $20 per child (a fake pumpkin)! A bit ridiculous if you ask me. This Michael's has very little selection, is cramped, and annoys me. It is so small, it can't really have a vast selection of anything, like the other Michael's stores do. The paper section is very, very small. Not many card-making supplies, not many completely random yet fantastic things you never knew you needed but then later can't live without. It isn't organized very well, which means you're playing cart derby with other crafters in these skinny aisles making circles over and over and over again while you're just searching and searching for the pen you need -- where could it be? The art supply section? Maybe the scrapbook section? Next to the checkout? On a random display/blockage in the middle of an aisle? The pricing will make your head spin, but thankfully they have one of those scan things...unthankfully, the line is always 10 deep because everyone is confused. If you have a car, pick another Michael's. This one will make you cry. read more
