This place was so busy and buzzing with families with children in tow carts filled with everything Christmas items today was 50% OFF ALL ITEMS! No recession here! Was very surprised that with the shape of our economy no one just shopped like no tomorrow! The store was well organized and well marked items were a plenty only on issue Not many employees to keep the crowds in line... the lines for check out was out of control and very confusing which line for checkout you were in and some shoppers were abit aggressive! Maybe crowd control by management might help or extra staff at checkout! Noticed a few in line waiting and waiting till they left their picked items and walked out! The store must have made lots of money for sure and parking outside was a mess and maybe hire police details to keep shoppers in line! read more

I accompanied my mother here since she heard it was a really cool store and wanted to give the store a spin. They have all different types of arts and craft products, sewing items, yarn, paints, craft kits, candle items, colored pens/pencils and anything that you might need for your crafting needs. There was even a good selection of seasonal decorative items, right now being Fall themed. We grabbed some of the Fall decorations to put outside in our front yard plus I saw a word puzzle book that looked pretty good so I got that as well. The prices and selection here were not bad at all. There were plenty of clerks scattered about the store looking to help customers find what they were looking for. Hobby Lobby, the place to go for holiday decorations & arts + craft supplies! They have a vast selection of decorations, art supplies, and more. Pretty fair prices too. I've recently started to go here a few times a month, mainly to see if they have new hello kitty goodies lol. Before, as a kid, I would come here to get rainbow loom & beads to make bracelets. Very similar to Michael's but I find their prices to be much better unless Michael's is running a sale. Located in the Marketplace at Braintree with a bunch of other great shops like Best Buy, Ulta, Nordstrom Rack, & FiveBelow, I'd say this is a great location. Now this wasn't my first thought when i heard Hobby lobby, i was reminded of hobby town. Went in here initially looking for a model car set for a nephews bday but realized its more arts crafts clothing and home goods. The lady however loves this place. It was very clean, well-stocked, and prices were reasonable. I can't remember the name of the woman that helped me at checkout, but she was delightful. This review is about one person and one person only, her name is Sarah and she helped me today in the frame department at Hobby Lobby in Braintree. I came in with an oil painting of my deceased dog that I wanted to frame. Well to say this young woman was incredible is an understatement. I mean first of all she is dealing with me sobbing like a baby when she shows me what she believes to be the perfect frame (she was spot on) then she help me assemble it and helped me add a hanger. She was so sweet and understanding, and on top of that she carried it up to the register and found the shortest line and waited with me until it was my turn. I was amazed that any place could have cheaper quality goods than Walmart and a staff less friendly. There are lots of decorative items as well as lots of craft supplies, and the store is neat. Yet I'll stick to smaller shops focused on better goods and friendlier service. read more

Hobby Lobby is now one of my favorite stores! This past weekend was my first time shopping here. Hobby Lobby has a HUGE variety of things for sale! There is so much to look at and it's guaranteed that anyone would find something they want. Hobby Lobby is the type of store that costumers should plan ahead before going because it's hard not to get distracted. Almost all items are on sale because the prices are marked a little high. Once marked down, the prices are about the same or a little lower than other stores. This is a great store to shop for gifts for people or buy a little something for yourself. Good for buying kids toys, games, collectibles (coins, stamps, etc), posters of all types, crafts, furniture, decorations, items for different holidays, and A WHOLE BUNCH MORE!! This place is very bad at its services and efforts are next to nothing. The only reason why it's a going store is because of the sales and products. But eventually if the upper management doesn't get precise with their employees being happy and upbeat with great solution solver attitude than this business will be closed. I honestly don't like going here anymore because of the managers. Some aren't nice and grumpy and some puts the littlest effort to give me satisfaction as a customer. I am super crafty and fell in love with the store when I first went. I was brought in by a gift card, I honestly didn't know what or where it was. Even though check out was incredibly annoying, I was happy overall (why don't they scan things? The lady was typing codes in and then I had to tell her what was on sale and then she typed that in on all my items on sale. It took forever....the lines were very long. How does a store like this not use scanners?) BUT, I later found out (or remembered I guess since the store wasn't in the area when it happened) that Hobby Lobby and the health insurance coverage they offer doesn't provide all types of contraception for their female employees-they filed a lawsuit against government over ACA and won. Look it up if interested, I won't get into details. Maybe that makes you want to go to the store more. But, I'll stick with my go-tos. There are PLENTY of other stores in the area and I won't miss it! read more

3.5 stars. Not really a hobby store, and kind of disappointing. You'd expect a lot more, but it is really an A C Moore combined with a Pier 10 feel. Lots of cheap furniture and hokey Knick knacks. Very limited crafts, and virtually a non existent model section. Wood crafts to paint. Wreaths to make, and mostly cheap craft stuff made in China. Plenty of parking, and a very nice staff. read more

I've only been to a Hobby Lobby once before, and never got a real chance to look around. Finally, they have opened relatively close to my home (not as close as I would like, but I'll suffice). I visited this location recently and found it extremely organized, full of merchandise, and spacious. Staff were all more than friendly and the selection of merchandise available is considerably different than Michaels and AC Moore (which is surprising... I thought they were so alike). A focus on home decor, seasonal merchandise, and framing is present here. Regardless, it's a great place to stop for gifts, holiday supplies, general art supplies and so much more. Something for everyone. The ginormous area dedicated to new, slick type of wall decor is very cool as well. Decent store that I welcome to the area. Sure, they have been in many controversies (as another Yelper has stated) recently, but doesn't affect anything having to do with the store. Very happy with the outcome of the former vacant old Sports Authority building. 5 stars. read more

This place is awesome. Almost like a combination of Michaels, Christmas Tree Shop and Homegoods. The prices are better than Homegoods if you are looking for decorations for your place. They also have it organized by theme-coastal, man cave, rustic, etc. This is super helpful for someone like me who struggles when it comes to decorating my home. They have tons of fabrics and crafts if you are into that as well. The cashier at the front was also amazing; I did not have a coupon and she had me grab a coupon off their website from my phone. I've got back into making car models the past few years and Hobby Lobby has a very good selection, as well as the paint and other items needed. Prices were very good( they used to have 40% off coupons often, which I think they've stopped), but they adjusted the prices accordingly. I know where the items I want are, so I don't have too much contact with the help, but I've never had a problem when asking them questions. I just wish there was one closer than Braintree. read more

I bought a fiddle leaf tree from here last week. First the price was $55, the next day it was $119 with a 40% off coupon so I still bought it. Today I went on line (few days later) and it is $59.99 with 40% off. I do understand this is a business but that is pretty scummy business practice. Located in the old Sports Authority building in the Marketplace Shopping Plaza at Braintree, Hobby Lobby is an arts and crafts superstore. The store has a large selection of items to browse through, but what's appealing is how specific that selection can be. And the prices can be reasonable, compared to other stores that are arts and crafts focused. I love roaming the store and seeing what was on every aisles, until I was yelled at by an employee for touching a ball of yarn. The company has engaged in several high-profile controversies, over the years, that can deter you from shopping here. There's a Michael's store down the street if you disagree with their ethics. read more

Worst store to do anything. They need the whole store's staff to do a price adjustment and you need to tell them multiple times to each of the staff because they don't listen to you. Nobody in the store have the ability to multitask, cashiers only know to take money, if you ask them a question, they need to call somebody else. You are pressing your luck in getting returns and exchange or price adjustments, because they will make you jump over hoofs and they still need to call more people to help. They don't use barcodes, the items on your receipt only the code for the department. So even if you have the item in hand, they will question you if you are lying. Nothing on the receipt tell them what you bought, and they don't know there own promotions and you need to show them their own circular. Poorly trained if you can call them staff that I have ever dealt with. I'm only giving 1 star because you can't give them negative rating. read more

I've been curious about Hobby Lobby for years as they are always mentioned in online craft sights and YouTubes. They definitely lived up to their reputation! I frequent (more than I should) the other 3 big names in the area-AC Moore, Michael's and JoAnn's. The store is HUGE! Craft supply wise, they have a comparable if not larger collection of materials at comparable prices and sales. JoAnn's has more fabric but HL does have a fairly good selection, especially upholstery fabric. The store is IMMACULATE!! - AC Moore could learn a lot from them! They also have PLENTY of staff on the floor. At the other stores you have to hunt for a sales rep often resorting to the front end. HL had staff in most of the departments (why they were so clean) and every person I interacted with over 2 visits was helpful and knowledgeable and extremely polite. They also offered to order an item for me that I needed 3 of and they only had 2. Besides lots of craft supplies they have a really extensive selection of household décor - mostly country theme - including the largest selection of decorative knobs and hooks I've seen. They also rent items like arbors for weddings. If there is any negative, it would be they don't offer as many coupons as the other stores and they are not part of the Ibotta app like JoAnn's. There is always one 40% coupon and they do have 40-50% off sales but no extra 10-20% entire purchases that the other stores offer. I never tried their on line but will now. It's not as convenient as JoAnn's is for me but I will definitely make it a point to make the drive to see what they have periodically. If you craft at all or are planning a function, it is definitely worth the trip. read more
