I had some golf memorabilia framed for my husband as a Christmas gift. Dennis spent a half hour going through ideas with me from where to place which items, frame styles and matting options. He patiently made adjustments so I could get within my budget because, for those that aren't aware, custom framing is not cheap and is definitely an investment. I couldn't be happier with the result and my husband was thrilled. Thank you, Dennis and Frantic Framers!

2 sets of stamps + postcard. one of my prized possessions made beautiful by Frantic Framers

My mother-in-law lives in Ukraine and got me the "Russian Warship, Go F*** Yourself" stamps and postcard for my birthday. I've been after these stamps since they were printed and knew I really wanted them framed so that I could hang them on my wall. I brought them to Frantic Framers since they were just down the road from my house and I couldn't be happier with the result. They did exactly what I asked and gave me something that will look really nice on my wall. I highly recommend these guys. I'll definitely be back when my MIL sends me the next snarky set of stamps!

We grabbed some of the Fall decorations to put outside in our front yard plus I saw a word puzzle book that looked pretty good so I got that as well. The prices and selection here were not bad at all. There were plenty of clerks scattered about the store looking to help customers find what they were looking for. Once you get over the irony of a white couple curating African art in a predominantly black community, this place is unbelievable. Tim Hamill originally bought this building to open a framing business, but his hobby completely took over the space. Now, the collection is enormous. There's everything from fetishes, to Ethiopean crosses, to masks, to stuff you didn't even know existed. I'm especially fond of these things called Toguna Posts, which are used to prop up meeting houses in some villages in Mali. Their collection of doors is also worth checking out--they're fucking gorgeous. Tim and his wife are incredibly friendly, even if you clearly have no intention of purchasing anything, and they love explaining where everything comes from and the story behind it. So, if you're interested in, y'know, the world around you and shit, you should visit it.

I learned that this business had the distinction of being the oldest framing shop in the country dating back to the early 1900's and has remained a family run local business during this time. (Wow! That's impressive!) Initially based out of the Arcade in Downcity Providence, they moved to this location in the 1970's and have continued to expand over time. What you will find today are three massive floors filled with artwork, prints, drawings, ceramics, etc from great local artists in addition to their large framing area. They can handle all types of projects small or large and provide service and support both locally and out of state. They boast quality craftsmanship, lifetime guarantees on their work, and prices that are comparable to what you'd find from the big box chains that offer framing services (no coupon needed!) The difference is the years of knowledge and experience you get when choosing Providence Picture Frame as well as the good feeling you get knowing that you are helping a long time family run store stay in business for future generations. You'll also find friendly employees who care passionately about their business, their community, and helping the customer get exactly what they are looking for. Pro tips: Consider shopping in their gallery for unique and special birthday or holiday gifts. Not sure how to display that special photo, artwork, or sentimental item? Stop by to talk to them about their custom framing ideas and to preserve your one of a kind item for a lifetime.

He first yells that I should just bring the mechanic along and that I won't be allowed to test drive the car. At this point, I am just puzzled an I politely tell him that he doesn't seem very interested in selling the car to me, even though I was quite keen on purchasing it. And then he says - "you don't have the money to buy a car do you- DO YOU? If your kind had any money, what would they be buying used cars for?". And then he tells me to have a nice day and hangs up. This is partly due to the door being a 7' door which is an odd size, replacement options are limited and hard to find. The other factor is that, being a handy man, I needed someone who I felt was capable of doing the job better than me. It was also important that whoever I hired would put the care into the job that I would. I had several contractors scope the job and I either didn't get the impression they knew what they were doing or they were so far beyond my budget it was ridiculous There are a TON of crappy contractors out there, unfortunately I've hired many of them. Brewster Remodeling "nailed" it. Paul scoped out the job and I was impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and fair pricing, he's also a really nice and funny guy. We talked about framing down the raw opening so I could get a 6' 8" door and Paul was all over it, no problem at all. Over a few weeks of back and forth phone calls regarding part numbers for the doors etc, we got the doors ordered and set up a date for the install. They finished up in a day and a half and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. They did a fantastic job and I'll certainly be hiring them again in the future.
