I came here looking for Die-Cast Cars, which unfortunately they did not have. However I was impressed by there selection in other categories, such as model planes, RC cars, Dioramas for trains, and a sizeable model kit section for Pokemon or Gundam. The service was very good, very busy inside but the staff knew their selection quite well and even offered some suggestions of places that may carry what I was looking for. The prices are reasonable as well. I can't speak on the things besides gundam, but the gundam were priced nearly the same as online retailers after shipping. When one of the suspension parts of the car broke off, I drove back there (a few months later) and they had all the parts and fixed it quickly on site for a reasonable fee. My friends and I have gone to Hobby Quarters for years, but recently, there have been some problems with the staff's expertise and RC car knowledge. Recently, my friends went to hobby quarters to get wheelie bars and tires for their cars. The girl there gave my friends the parts they needed, but when they were putting them on, they didn't fit and my friends had to return them. My other friend went to hobby quarters to get a new battery, and the workers there gave him a battery that blew out his motor. But that's not the worst of it! The workers then proceeded to give him a new motor for free, but they gave him a Titan 12T instead of the one he had before, which made his car 10 mph slower. Very angr! read more

Literally could not be happier with the great customer service and communication. I don't know much about the race cars just that my nephew brought home a RC magazine from here and wanted one for Christmas. I figured I could wait a few days before and just go pick up. To my surprise they were sold out and were expecting a four the day, yes Christmas Eve, but unsure of delivery time. This store claims to be a horizon retailer which makes me assume horizon would want them to sell there products at there set retail price. I recently went in to buy a spektrum receiver and another spektrum item. Both items were marked up $5 and $10 from what horizon sells them for. When I asked if they sell at horizon prices because they are an authorized dealer they took the price difference off. You can decide if that's shady business. It's like they just have no time for you and I've spent thousands of dollars in there. Just when I thought I had found a one stop shop for all of my RC needs, I was wrong. Between a new RC and parts i have spent close to $1000 this week at this store. Yesterday, I purchased some parts including a $50 bumper for this new RC. I went back to the store today to return some unused parts including this new bumper that was also unused. As I was returning the items, presumably the owner stated I could not return the bumper. While I was under the impression it was brand new when purchased yesterday, I found out today it was apparently under consignment. Due to that fact he refused to take the part back. The woman that works in the store explained to him that she had never told me it was a consignment nor had she known that. He refused to refund the money for an unused part that literally took a ride home yesterday, and then a ride back to the store today. After explaining I had no idea it was a consignment part, nor was I told that he said it didn't matter. He offered me $25 for the part saying that's all he could do. Wow, shameful customer service. Customer service is the basis for any successful business. While it is only $50, it is the principle that the owner was unwavering even after his employee admitted she was wrong and that I was not told it was a consignment sale. Not only will I never do business with this establishment again. I will make it a point to let everyone know in my RC circle not to shop here. I am only giving one star due to the sweet woman that works there daily. read more

I went there a few weeks ago to see if they had a ball diff rebuild kit or some ball diff lube for an old touring car I'm resurrecting. Said they didn't have it, no big deal. I'm looking around the store after that and I hear someone who works there on the phone jokingly say, "Tell that faggot to come in here next time he's around" or something along those lines. I visited Hobby Quarters for the first time a few weeks ago because I broke my RC car and needed to get it fixed . The business was very responsive to my online inquiry and gave my issue a good amount of attention when I dropped off my car for a repair. All of the associates seemed friendly . I would have given them a 5 stars but I found the car parts a little more on the expensive side . Also when I showed up to pick my car up I was surprised to learn that I still had a balance on the repairs . I wasn't previously informed about this and didn't expect to have a balance when I arrived . If the price changed after drop off I would have appreciated a call to let me know . I went to this store on the hunt for some paint and topcoat for an old hobby that I'm getting back into: GUNDAM model kits. Imagine my surprise when, after being guided to their large paint selection by a helpful employee, I found a whole pile of Gundam models on the shelf! More than just recent stuff; I found some kits that I built 10+ years ago! It was a modest selection of new HGs and RGs and older MGs and non-graded 1/100 kits. I would love to see a wider selection, but I was extremely happy to find these kits populating the shelves of a local hobby shop. Prices for Gundams were fair; some of the larger kits were a little bit more expensive than internet prices, but some smaller kits were below average prices. I'm thankful for the opportunity to support a local store AND not wait for shipping. They also had a decent selection of tools and Tamiya/Testors paints. The store is large and the employees are happy to help you find anything you need. The variety of hobbies that they cater to is amazing and I'm excited to finish my Gundam model and go back for more! read more

This store is not what I expected..... Actually, for that matter, I didn't really know what this was going to be like. I just wanted to stop in because it looked cool, and I thought MAYBE I could find SOMETHING cool. I haven't really been to any exact hobby shops in the past, so since this place was new and looked exciting, I thought it would be a good place to stop at. Once walking in, it went downhill. Even though the guys working were all super kind and friendly, nothing they sold was anywhere near anything I would purchase. I just don't know anyone into all of these car, plane, boat, helicopter products. Yes, sure they are cool, but not up my alley. Cool store if you are into that sort of stuff, but not really a place for me. 4 stars for friendly, helpful employees and because the store is clean, organized and the largest store of this type in New England! Went here an hour before closing on a Tuesday night looking for a new model rocket. Despite Rick H.'s review, I was not greeted warmly or assisted. My girlfriend and I were the only ones in the store and the owner just sat behind the counter doing his own thing. After a few minutes of looking around there small model rocket section (Wrong again Rick H.) I asked the owner if he had a particular type of rocket, at which point he told me to look in the Estes catalog. Not amazing customer service. Prices were a little high, selection was mediocre. I've been wanting to get into quadcopters and eventually FPV for awhile now. I decided I'd start small with a small ready to fly quad. I stopped into RC Hover at about 3pm on a Saturday. The place is jam packed with product so I was a bit into overload mode. I was greater by someone fairly quickly and I immediately mentioned that I'd like to get into quads and wanted a small quad and gave him a model I wanted. They had the model, he pulled it down and handed it to me. I started asking questions about quads and FPV and asked about things I needed to start down that road. I had to probe him and ask questions. I didn't really get the guidance I was looking for. I proceeding to walk to the checkout counter and the man there was staring at his computer and just started ringing me up, without acknowledging me at all. Prices were decent in comparison to online. If they have something in stock, it's worth picking it up there instead of waiting. I left happy because I had what I was looking for, not because of the service. Long gone are the days when a brick and mortar store can sit back and succeed. If you don't provide a service or offer guidance, all you are doing is putting product on your shelves and hoping customers decide (for whatever reason) to shop there versus online. There was no experience here. I'll be back, not because of the glowing service but because I'll undoubtedly crash the quad I built with products I purchased online, and I'll need a prop or two on the weekend. read more

Hobby Quarters is usually my go-to whenever I decide not to shop online and deal with the inconvenience of waiting on a product to be shipped to me. I like this place and I honestly don't mind paying a little extra especially if it's to support a smaller scale independent business like this one. If you're looking to shop here go ahead and do it because this place is well stocked with inventory, 9 times out 10 you may just find what you're looking for. -- One thing I will say is, though, if you do shop here, seek help from the tall heavy-set guy (I cant remember his name at the moment) but he is very knowledgeable and has great customer service skills. Avoid the small skinny kid with the short blond hair and glasses because every single time I've shopped here he always has the worst attitude and will ruin your whole experience, trust me. The reason I would not recommend this Business is because they are charging another fee on top of the high prices to use my credit card. Has a pretty solid collection of RC cars planes, and plastic models, less so of train supplies, but normally a fun place I would want to spend time in browsing. But some of the employees were loudly flouting the state's mask policy, mocking a customer who had mentioned it, and walking and talking loudly with uncovered faces. Leaving aside questions on whether this is smart or dangerous or selfish, it is disrespectful and unpleasant for customers who have come in to the store with the expectation that you would do what you should to keep them safe. It also means they will feel less willing to stay and browse, cutting into sales. I did not enjoy my visit as much as I would have liked to, and definitely did not buy as much as I would have. read more

I had a few Rc questions and we spent a ton of time doing a deep dive on my issues, and at the end, they forwent selling me $100 in parts, but helped me come up with a $10 solution to my needs! I just can't say enough about the service these guys offer, let alone the prices they charge for products. They have a ton of cars, boats and trains going now, but still service heli's (of course)! While I was there,there must have been a dozen car folks in, all asking odd ball questions, and from what I heard, the entire staff was carefully listening to the questions and really doing their best to help everyone. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon a few minutes after 3 o'clock, fully prepared to purchase an RC Airplane trainer (~$400 purchase). Upon entering the store, which appeared open, door unlocked, lights on, fully staffed, we were screamed at by a rude and disrespectful individual (possibly the manager) to "GET OUT!" I get not wanting to serve customers after closing, but I resent that kind of abuse. Either this guy was off his meds or something nasty was going down... that's how bad it was. I've never been afraid in a hobby shop before, but I will NEVER set foot in that place again much less bring a child with me. It appears that another reviewer agrees that the customer treatment is deplorable. This is not the way to treat hobbyists upon whose disposable income you depend on. Best hobby shop I've found in the area. Large selection (cars/trucks, trains, boats, helicopters, planes, etc), decent customer service, horrible prices. I've been in several times, usually weekends, and it's always busy. It can be difficult to get help, but once you've got their attention they seem knowledgeable. It's always an overall mediocre experience, but there aren't really any other options. If you need a part and you're in the area it's definitely worth a look. If you don't want to wait for shipping, it's your best bet. It feels good to support local brick and mortar businesses, but when just about everything in the store is 25-50% more than any on-line retailer, it's kinda hard to justify. If you're going to spend more than $50 you can probably get an order shipped overnight for less. I have NO clue what's up with the track.There's a dirt track next to the shop, but it doesn't seem to be maintained or ever used. Their website says they run races in the summer and that you can buy track time on off days, but I've never seen anybody there. They've got a rock crawling course that looked brand new a couple summers ago, but is now completely overgrown with bushes. Maybe if everybody who reads this stops in and asks when the next race is they'll actually run one. read more
