Been here twice and both times left with the same impression. They cater to the RTR generation of R/C. The first time I was there was to purchase nitro fuel and after run oil. One of the staff started to question why I was still running nitro with today's brushless R/C's. I explained that I only have one nitro and the remaining cars in my collection are older such as an original RC10 and that I enjoy the build process. Again I was met with the "you should see what cars if today can do". Trust me I know what the cars of today can do but it doesn't change my opinion. Fast forward to my trip today to purchase paint for an original Tamiya Super Champ. I grab my paint and head to check out. At first the employee seems nice and asks if I found everything ok, but then picks up a can of Tamiya paint and asks if I'm painting a polycarbonate body. I respond with yes he then proceeds to tell me that the paint is incorrect and should be used on models. I point out that it is actually the correct paint for the Super Champ. He simply says ok and finishes the purchase. Now it is possible that he meant to ask if I was painting a lexan body and in that case I would have the wrong paint. But I believe the issue lies in the fact that they cater to the R/C would of RTR and there is this notion that the customer might not know what they are talking about because they don't have the whole build process, hence this employee automatically believing I had the incorrect paint. For the store itself it's jam packed with anything you could image on the hobby would with a great selection of everything. Great selection! The owner and staff are super helpful. Prices are the same as internet and why not support our local hobby shop. This is the best rc hobby shop I have ever found. I drive 40 minutes to get here and its always worth it. They have everything that I ask for. They teach and diagnose any question. Have been ordering o n-line for years and alwyas dreaded the "S" word..............shipping . Found RC Hover on the web by accident. I decided to check them out because they were only 15minutes from my house. Well was I UPSET.........because of spending all those $'s on shipping and having such a huge Hobby Shop in my own backyard. Staff(I presume owner) was perfect. This store is awesome. I have recently gone back Into model rocketry and add a high and low end drone into my business and leisure. Tim, Jacob, and Jerome know their stuff and then some. They give after sale support that you can not get elsewhere. I buy all my compliments there. I save myself so much aggravation by not buying the optimal part. Plus their inside tricks they you can not learn on YouTube on Amazon astound me. I know because I have searched for them there after learning them at the store. I started doing RC stuff as a father and son with my boy. I knew nothing about it and the owner was a tremendous help in getting me started. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable about the products and very helpful. They have always been attentive and have stepped up on several occasions to go above and beyond in helping me solve issues. My son loves the dirt track there to run our RC cars and recently started flying planes and helicopter. Nothing but AAA+ service and support from these guys! Internet support only goes so far and its nice to have local experts to help you out. Great job! read more

Went into the store for the first time with my son and his friend and family. I was big into the 10th scale racing scene with my Dad back in the late 80's. It's been disappointing over the years seeing local shops fail for various reasons. These guys here have renewed my faith in the brick and mortar hobby shop! Customer service was awful. I wanted to buy a RC helicopter and the kid helped me for about 2 minutes. Then he got a phone call and called over some other guy that was supposed to help me but he jumped to another customer. So I patiently waited for more help for about 10 minutes and when it didn't come I left. They lost a $200 sale and a potential returning customer. read more

Let it be known - Tim is second to none. Jeremy, Thank you for your response which I would have appreciated the day of in the store versus "theres nothing I can do about that". Today you confronted me in your store about this post, Tim (the most helpful person in the store finally explained the pricing, etc). He explained that I bought a car that is typically sold for $120 versus $99. They were gifts, so the first time the trucks left your store they were priceless, it is really no big deal, I was just looking for better service when I asked about the pricing and my findings. Also, the shock that you diagnosed as "fine" on a new Dromida truck that was driven 3 times, is not fine. I will be sure to bring it in to show you next time - so thanks for 20% off parts that I shouldn't have needed at that point. Like I said before and today - I will be back and appreciate your help. Just keep in mind that as a customer I can interpret my experience on my own - once I leave it is too late for you to influence how I feel. Don't be fooled by this guys response he was so concerned about saving money that customer service went out the window. That's right I did expect a new car, not to wait 45 minutes while you played with it. Judging by how he "fixed" the piece if track he would have tried the same with the car to get me out the door. It's way to say " if there's a problem come back" but it's a 45 minute drive and I don't have a lot of spare time. Next time RC Excitement in Fitchburg will be the right choice or online. You lost a customer that spent over $1000 in your shop for $20. read more

Online services here are really bad. Ordered an antenna on Sunday that showed in stock and still has not been shipped out. No replies to email and no call back after leaving contact info with an employee who was not authorized to access online orders. Would recommend going somewhere else to shop. read more

Don't waste your time with this place! My son received a remote control car from this shop for his 9th birthday. The car's axle broke the first time he used it. We went to the store and bought what the store employee told us was the correct replacement part. As far as instructions on how to fix the axle he said, "I have no idea, check youtube". I fixed the axle and the second time my son used the car it immediately started smoking from the motor. We were able to shut it off safely. When we explained the problem to the store representative we were told that they don't take returns, regardless of the fact that it was used twice or posed a dangerous threat to my 9yr old. Horrible customer service and just as horrible products. STAY AWAY! read more

if a company has a web site they need to keep it updated. the site says they are open on sundays. I drove 15 miles in a rain storm to get engines i needed, only to find they are closed on sundays for the entire summer. --very pissed off read more

I went to rchover with a ton of cash in my pocket and could not get any service. The store owner kept telling me "I'll be right with you". After an hour of waiting and being told the same thing I left. I could see if there was a line of people to be waited on but he kept helping others while I paced around (the store is very small). I'm not sure if he doesn't need the money but it's too bad since it's one of the only stores that sells helicopters. I keep hearing local store owners complain about the Internet taking over. Who wants to over pay for the same items and get bad or no service to boot. Buyer beware... read more

Worst online transaction I have ever made!!! First off, after I place my order I get an email 4 days later saying that 2 of the parts I have ordered are out of stock. Nowhere on the website did it say this. So I tell Bert, to cancel the out of stock items and ship the rest. Thursday I call Bert again. because I still don't have anything saying my remaining parts have shipped, was on hold for 20 minutes while I still hear him talking to someone else. Was incredibly rude!! So, I call back yet again to be told that I never replied back to the emails, which is total BS! So I tell them just to cancel the entire order and give me a refund. A few more days go by, and nothing is refunded to my account. I call again, and speak to Tim only to be told that he would have to speak with paypal, and he promised it would be taken care of. Another day goes by called Tim again, still nothing! Finally Mondays rolls around, and I speak to Bert again. He tells me that the reason I didn't recieve my refund is because my parts came in later in the day that i spoke to Tim, and would be happy to still ship my parts. Ha! Did i not cancel my order a week ago?! Finally I get my refund. It was only $36, so i don't understand why i had to get the run around for 10 days. I will not try to order from this place again, nor will I recommend it to anyone else!! read more
