Still 3 stars but for different reason. The organization is much improved. I searched online so I already knew the aisle before walking into the store. Thankfully the tracing paper was exactly where it said online. I saw one associate in front amount maybe 8 self service scanners. She was great at telling you where basic items are in the store but I doubt she does any crafting. Lights on 64. But when I asked specifically for tea lights I get a blank stare. These stores use to have a variety of associates that engaged in different crafts where you could show them your ideas and they could share suggestions and recommendations about items that could help. Yesterday all I got was a blank face. I end up looking around and finding the led tea lights that I asked. Except these cost nearly $22. There were other lights that looked good but no price or real label. The one associate now had a line. I hope no one is working alone, but I never saw anyone else. read more

We stopped by to pick up some acrylic paints. I got the most adorable ceramic sculpture at goodwill the other day, but it has a few scratches. I thought if I got a bit of paint, that I could touch it up. Not sure if it will work, but I'm going to give it a try. They had so many options from which to choose. Not the exact color that I needed, but I got a few choices to mix and hope it will come close to match the original paint. While we were there, we browsed all the cool Halloween skeletons and decorations. Along with some seasonal items that they have already put on sale. This store is huge. So you have to have some patience to wander around a bit. Let's just say, you'll get your steps in! My husband is a talented crafter. If I show him a picture of something that I like, he can usually make it or something similar. We checked out some of the other aisles, as well, just to get some early gift ideas, too. Checkout was an okay experience. We are already in their computer system, so they honored his military discount. Woohoo. read more

Michaels is my favorite place for Halloween decor. I am so obsessed with the annual man eating plan offerings! I have my eye on some large ones this year. They always have such a good selection of themed decor for every season. I will say that post covid they don't seem to be as well staffed. Checkout sometimes takes a while, and even pickup orders take a long time waiting for someone to be found to come help. I don't often shop full price here, it if you go scope out the seasonal decor that you like and then wait til end of season you can get it at 50% or more off. Then they are a steal! read more

Listen I love Michael's- what's there not to love. However there has been a change over the course of I'd say 6-8 months now where someone in corporate decided to take away the price machines and all the pricing on the labels. You now have to rely on store staff to do the old school paper price tags which almost nothing is tagged. I have mentioned this in surveys and even to the staff in store- this is not targeted to the actual store but to corporate. Their answer is- the machines weren't working (not true) and managers are working on pricing the products as they come in. Obviously their method here is if it's in the customers cart, then they are less likely to take it off when they are getting rung up at the register. LITERALLY everything is on sale in the store and the abundance of coupons you get via email is absurb so you think you're getting a good deal but how can you even know if you don't know what the initial price is?! Truthfully it's a bit disgusting and misleading and if they don't fix the system I can't see this ending well for a craft store that has been a staple for so long. They may go down like JoAnn's so I urge everyone to speak up! read more

I was looking to see what their selection of Halloween decorations they had and I was happy that there was a good variety. I also loved how much clearance merchandise they had for 80% off. I found some faux flowers that will look great at the front of my house where I have no water source to grow real flowers and I also loved the aisle with all the cute colorful gadgets. There literally is something there for everyone. They also are a good place to go to get helium balloons and parking is very easy to find. I ordered tie dye kits before Christmas for pick up, and when I went in to pick them up, I took a quick look around and ended up filling a shopping cart. Yikes! They had a ton of stocking stuffers that were not candy-based and mostly unisex, which I appreciated. I found plastic folding tray tables with storage for my kids (they have been using them to make legos with, as the pieces fit inside and the book can rest above it) in pretty nice colors and matching caddys, way better quality than what I had been looking at online. Score! Ordering ahead of time came with discounts, and I had re-downloaded the Michaels app to find other coupons, but the pricing confuses me stil. I used the self serve option but it got stuck and no one was coming to help, so I moved to the other self serve checkout instead. And it worked! read more

Understocked shelves with old (and in some cases expired) merchandise. New employees lack training and more experienced employees are apathetic. Management is rude and dismissive. "Maybe you should figure out how to do it before coming in so you'll have less questions." The only reason this particular Michael's is still around is because it's the only one around here, there's literally no place else close. read more

I was in complete awe to see the never ending isles, which had sale signs everywhere. I was amazed at how you could purchase so many items for $3 a piece. My dad and I walked down each isle like children, grabbing everything and seeing what the markdowns were. The Michael's coupon only works for non sale items, and fortunately for me, mine sadly was one of the few items for full price. If you are in the crafting spirit, especially since these are Covid times, swing by and buy practically anything to scratch that crafting itch for only a few bucks. read more

I use curbside because i can not come into the store. waited for 30 minutes no one brought out my order. when i called the girl me i can just come in and get my own stuff, and then hung up on me. Weekly Customer. Couldn't order online cause it wasn't working, so went to store to buy a picture frame for a remodel. On sale $14.99 but rang up at $29.99. Young man asked Manager Jackie if it was ok, she came over and asked him" What's wrong with you, make the customer happy!". Ok really? This are your management skill set? I think I honestly come here every wk, sometimes 2-4 times! I love this place and can spend hours here. The prices are good and coupons even better! Very rarely have I come here and haven't found what I needed. The staff knows me and are always very friendly. The pretty much stay up to date with the latest trends which I really appreciate. The store is clean and organized for the most part. Unless there's a huge sale it can get messy. The lines can get long but they are pretty good with getting them all open or having someone in the line helping with checkout. I can usually find someone to help me when I need it which is good, and they are usually in stock with anything I need. Love this store and oh so happy I love so close to one! read more

Boynton Beach, FL location If you go there for framing, ask to work with Jeffery. You don't want Terry helping you. Terry likes to chomp on gum while talking to you. At one point she said to our group, "OK, let's make a decision. I'm getting hungry." We all stared in disbelief, waiting for her to say she was joking. She wasn't. She handled the artwork with her bare hands. We had to ask her to remove her smudges/fingerprints. Her demeanor is abrasive, unprofessional and simply unpleasant. 3.5 This Michael's has some pretty crafty pieces but also just like other craft stores, it's much more then that. I think a person can get so creative just by visiting this store. I can envision fancying up my job cubicle by buying some pretty neat stuff from here. Or get the best picture frames for my house etc. They have different things for any part of the house of office etc. For me, the flower inventory seems odd. They stop carrying carrying regular flowers in the holiday time. They only carry tons of holiday ornaments, garlands, holiday color themes flowers etc in late fall and Christmas time. You can order wedding flower bouquets etc from them but they are not in the store and they ship in about two weeks. I think they should keep some inventory throughout the year so a customer can see the actual colors and textures etc. Overall adequate store for fulfilling all your creative ideas. I ordered six canvas packgages over their website. Paid for it and waited for email stating I could pick up...Received that email. Two hours later I received an email thanking me for picking up...called the store immediately telling them I did not pick up...The person answered the phone and told me she just came in at 4 and would check. I waited on phone for a half and hour....hung up and called back...told her I waited for half an hour her response was you want to talk with manager...Yes...waited another twenty minutes hung up and called back eleven times only to be hung up on each time...I will watch the charge to make sure it doesn't come thru...so much for customer service...the store should just shut down!! I just had the best encounter with an employee named Jackie she was amazing and it was just a curbside pick up but she was so nice so sweet and she really took good care of us!!! I've only been here a handful of times. Last 2 times I left empty handed because there was no way in hell I was waiting in the ridiculously long line to buy some stencils. Worst of all even though the line wrapped around the store they only had 2 lanes open, both times I was there. No thanks, I'll order online UPDATE: Came again because I had no choice since I needed another matching stencil. Random Tuesday, longer line than Walmart on Thanksgiving, 2 registers open, bunch of employee walking around sorting shelves. Hopefully the last time I have to come here. read more

I am a regular at Michael's in other locations, and I love the store usually, but I would really avoid this Boynton Beach location. The item I tried to buy on sale rang up incorrectly, I checked the same sign and confirmed that it was ringing up incorrectly. The employee went back there to check, and the cashier told me to meet the employee. When I got there the sale sign was literally missing completely. They said "someone must have taken it" and I had to pay the incorrect price... I've never experienced these kinds of weird games from employees. Other reviews say similar experiences, so I would avoid this location if you can. read more

Horrible experience majority of the time I shop at this location. Always followed on the aisles ... but can never find an associate when I need help or have a question. Tried ordering online instead to avoid the uncomfortable experience... even picking up my orders was a horrible unprofessional experience. STOP advertising Curbside as an option online when in person your location refuses to honor it at pick up. I've shopped at several different locations ... the Boynton location is ALWAYS the worst! if I could give them negative stars I would. I went it to the Boynton Beach location on Congress store recently and had a horrible experience! They had one employee working the entire front of the store during a very busy time. She requested for backup and a manager a was ignored. It took over fifteen minutes for another associate to come assist her. When the employee Terry came to finally assist she came with attitude. They are listed as an UPS store for drop off and pick up. I was there to drop off and Terry said that there are plenty of UPS stores in the area why am I there. As she was coming to the front of the store she was yelling "who's here for a damn UPS drop off!" She approached me with a very nega attitude and I felt very threatened. After exchanging words Terry walked away and a manager finally came to the front of the store very unbothered by how her employee just treated a customer.I will never go back to that location. They are rude and very unprofessional! read more

Shame on the person responsible for understaffing this store. There are about 35 people in the checkout line. While the staff who work here are doing the best that they can, there are 3 checkout stations that are unstaffed. This is the closest Michaels I have near me, I come here almost once a week as I am an artist and a seller on Etsy. They do carry almost everything except stone carving materials which I had to resort to buying elsewhere online. Their prices are slightly more expensive than Wal-Mart, but if you have an android, you can grab their typical 20%-60% off coupons to show (or you can print them out) to save on the most expensive item and even already discounted items! They do have somewhat of a better ribbon selection than JoAnn's but then sometimes JoAnn's carries the shades I need... and sometimes the Michaels in Boca Raton on Glades carries the shades I need that both don't have! The employees are very helpful as one time I desperately needed special onyx graphite pencils for some important pencil illustrations I was doing. They did carry a variety of graphite pencils and I saw the pricing labels on the display case for the onyx pencils that I needed but they were sold out. An employee named Zac came over to help me find the pencils and it had showed on his electronic reader that they are NOT out of stock... but assumed that they could have been misplaced randomly around the store or stolen which happens to smaller pieces in big stores, of course. He was kind enough to call up the other Michaels in Boca Raton to find if they, too, carried the onyx pencils. They were also experiencing the same issue and did not have them physically in stock either. So Zac called his manager to request to have them ship a new inventory of the onyx pencils. He told me they'd be available in maybe 2 weeks at most. I couldn't wait any longer as I needed to turn in the illustrations to a client earlier than that. So... I had to resort to digging into my packaged art supplies that I hadn't opened since college in hopes of finding an onyx pencil and finished the drawings. 3 weeks later, I came back to Michaels to look for other supplies and came across the new stock of onyx pencils! I was pleased even though I wasn't able to get them in time... but I picked up 2 of them for the next time I get new custom graphite illustration orders. :) If you're in need of something... don't be afraid to ask an employee as they may be able to help you as most of them seem to be very creative about the alternative possibilities you could do. Oh yea, by the way- don't buy their seashells there or at Wal-Mart either....... they're way overpriced and limited in choices and instead go to Sea Shore Gifts for a plethora of seashell varieties on 508 U.S. 1/Federal Highway in Lantana, FL. I'm a crafter and am constantly coming to this Michael's store. It is always well-stocked and they always work really hard to move the lines fast. This is a busy Michael's since it's in a prime location. Near it are Best buy, Target, clothes and shoe stores. The location makes it very convenient to squeeze in a craft run while doing my other errands. A tip: Michaels always has coupons. Even if it's for a percentage off of one item, it's a savings. So make sure to look online for coupons. read more

The people behind the framing department were very helpful, however BEWARE- the prices are a lot higher than other local framers. Even with a 60% discount, the prices were similar to local stores. Joe in the framing section is one of the kindest most understanding people I have ever met in retail. His patience is unmatched and his framing suggestions are always spot on. The prices are not inexpensive but the quality of there work is excellent and they go way out of there way to make things right.
