I spoke with the man on the phone and he said he could replace the strings on a tallis that belonged to my husband's grandfather. My husband drove 25 minutes each way to have this done, and when he looked at it, he refused to replace the strings without any proper explanation other than to say that it was not a good enough shape to bury someone with. We are not interested in burying anyone, just using it for my daughter's mitzvah. He offered no assistance and where we might get this done when I spoke to him on the phone, he did not say anything about it, depending on the condition of the Tallis. The whole experience was very disappointing.

I was so incredibly lucky that I came across Joanna from Ft. Lauderdale Baskets & Gifts, who MORE than went the extra mile for me! She literally spent time googling my recipients to help find things to personalize their baskets with!! Her baskets were incredibly beautiful and well put together with high end items, yet the cost was extremely competitive. As if I wasn't happy enough with her (by the way, she delivered and carried the baskets into my office), when I ordered a second round of baskets, COVID-19 hit, and I didn't get to deliver them all when I had to abort the project and work from home. Joanna reached out to me to let me know that she would replace any food items that have gone bad so I wouldn't have to waste the baskets. This level of service, talent, and caring is something I thought wasn't available anymore. Thank you soooo much Joanna, and I look forward to using your company for years to come!!!

Extremely disturbing experience…read more I visited The Ancient Spanish Monastery with a friend expecting to pay the advertised $10 admission. We simply wanted to visit the property and take normal pictures of each other while we were there -- no professional photographer, no equipment, and no commercial photoshoot. I was told that because I was "well dressed," I would need to pay over $300 to take pictures. I explained very clearly that this was NOT a professional photoshoot. What disturbed me most was the explanation I was given: I was told that if I had come wearing jeans and a shirt, I would not be charged the additional fee, but because I was wearing a long dress, jewelry, and had my makeup done, I looked like I had money and therefore could afford to pay more. I also felt racially profiled during this interaction and extremely uncomfortable with the assumptions being made about me. A visitor's admission or photography fee should not be determined by how expensive an employee thinks they look, what they are wearing, or how much money an employee assumes they have. If there is a legitimate photography policy, it should be clearly published and applied equally to everyone based on what they are doing -- not based on their clothing, jewelry, makeup, race, or perceived financial status. I came expecting to enjoy a historic and religious site. Instead, I left feeling singled out, judged, and discriminated against. For this to happen at a place of religious significance made the experience even more disappointing.

If you stand at the stores entrance and look in you see the whole museum for free, you're welcome! Honestly the art was good but it is ONLY that. I'm guessing they change exhibits, there was nothing about the museum itself or that talked about Art of HipHop in general. Their Graffiti museum was 20 times better.

Most of the limited floor space was dedicated to the artist Cey when I went. I probably wouldn't have even ventured over here but I got offered a discounted ticket as part of a twofer over at the Museum of Graffiti. That place is super cool but is similarly light on floor space. Maybe one day the two can combine and form like Voltron as Method Man said. Maybe add a breakdancing gallery and a bunch of other stuff. This isn't a bad little museum but for the money I can barely even recommend it as part of the combo with the Museum of Graffiti around the corner.

Mostly…read morebecause when you're local the mentality is, "why pay to see a fancy house? you can drive by coral gables or south beach and see them for free". I will say, the grounds are absolutely delightful, especially if you go in the Springtime as we did where flowers are all in full bloom, that alone is worth the ticket price. The architecture is exquisite! A feast for the eyes in so many ways. When we came to visit, they were doing renovations. You could see the water damage on the roof and walls, probably caused by one of the many Summer storms, because of that the tickets were at a discount that day but we were still able to appreciate the beauty of Viscaya. There are two cafe's. One in the garden of the main house, and another across the street where farm animals use to be kept. Surprisingly, the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The day we were there, a wedding was going to take place and there was a lot of commotion going on. Fancy tables being set up, fine china, crystal glasses, the whole works. We asked a security guard how much it costs to have a wedding reception there and he said: "Just to rent the space, no tables, no nothing, starting price is 100k". So if you have 100k lying around, and plan to get married soon, this could be an option for you. Jokes aside though; I'd definitely visit again.

The property and history is pretty amazing. As many other reviews have mentioned, a good portion of the rooms and structures are closed for renovations. Being that it was the offseason, some of the gardens did seem to be past their peak. We hope to return when everything is open in season and tour the whole facility.

Fortunately, Art Wynwood was fully indoors.
