Since they formed in 2005, they have distributed 70 million pounds of food. RBI Thrift is located in the old Sears in Boynton Beach Mall. You enter from the outside, not from inside the mall. I discovered RBI while visiting Dillard's Clearance Center, also in the mall. One thing to note, there is no air conditioning. To their credit, the people who work here are somehow able to maintain a cheerful disposition despite the miserable heat. The store inventory is a mixture of new items donated by their corporate partners and used thrift items donated by the general public. I saw furniture, hone decor, plant and garden supplies, pet supplies, toys, kids clothing, art, shoes, sunglasses, accessories, bags, and beauty and drugstore supplies. Prices range from $1 to the several hundred dollars. I found a cute little rabbit dish from Pier One for only $2. I also purchased a brand new in the box microcurrent facial toning device and a microdermabrasion kit. Both were marked $10 but I only paid $5 each at checkout. They are both going for $50 all over the internet. I am excited to try them both out. If you enjoy bargain hunting I recommend checking out RBI where the proceeds go to a really great cause.

RBI stands for Restoration Bridge International. The nonprofit is well known in Palm Beach County for its work helping with food distribution and food drives to help feed the hungry. It also provides other services as well. So we knew whatever we bought here (or donated in the future) would be going to a good cause. They have lots of different items spread throughout the store. They are still putting out merchandise. Offerings range from clothing to toys, accessories, candles, health and beauty products, gardening supplies, shoes, bric a brac, linens, and furniture. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. A youngster was helping out as a "greeter" (too cute!). Just a note, although they accept credit cards, there is a fee for using them. Bring cash. As they're putting out new stuff every day, I'm sure we will be returning. We wish them success.

But we do okay with a few household items, accessories, and comfortable shorts for my husband. They used to carry a brand of costume bracelets I liked -- and I keep looking for them -- but no longer. Of course, last month when I was browsing and had a birthday discount, I couldn't find anything. We were having lunch on the other side of the shopping center and decided to stop by. Today, I found some pool flip flops and a new pair of inexpensive designer sunglasses -- for the pool, too -- as well. It's nice to know they are here. I'm sure if we are in the area, we would stop by again.

It is located in Delray Marketplace! So there is plenty of parking! The prices are also very reasonable and sometimes you can find nice items in the sale section. They did have a rack of just green clothing, purses and a hat which was strange and told the wife to boycott that section, lol. They offered a back of the store shoe section with an up to 50% off sale. Most of the costume jewelry displays were made in China and under $20.00. I noticed plenty of staff walking around and stocking items while the wife found a few items that she wanted to try on. I literally took a quick tour of the store then found the one bench that the staff told me was the "Husband's Section". Sadly there are no customer bathrooms at this location. We literally left to find a facility at Lucille's BBQ and returned to the fitting room. Easy thirty day return policy with receipt.

Today my family and I were shopping Atlantic Ave. We walked in the back door and were immediately reprimanded that we cannot use that door to enter and that she was about to lock the store to take a restroom break. The Colony restroom is near Spice, I asked would she mind if we just begin shopping...very curt I was informed NO! Our husbands came in the front entrance only to hear us being reprimanded for exiting a door that states "Exit" Did I mention this happened to me twice?! Extremely Disappointing. I asked the supervisor if they coukd negotiate on the price considering the condition. I got a flat NO. I'm really disappointed that they couldn't negotion that price since they got it for free. I will go and buy a new one at that price. Shame they won't get the $ for their charity. And I won't be back.
