Getting ready for a work function had me and a coworker running to get last minute items. Before we left the office to do our big run we checked online to make sure that the items we needed were instore and the inventory was correct. That was a lie. We got to the store, found what we had been looking for, but the shelves were not loaded with the items. See, and this will be a theme when I review the other location, their inventory system is messed up. We were told that the system may say they had them, but the trucks were not showing up until later that day. Suggestion: don't count items in your inventory before it is delivered. We did end up grabbing a few more things and made a note to check the other location. We were even told by the employees in the store to give it a try. Checking out the employee was very joyful and totally feeling a vibe. read more

Store is a mess and the selection is very limited... not to mention the service is incredibly slow

I came here today for something very specific that no other store carries. That would be dye for clothes. Specifically it was the Rit dye that I was looking for in the colors of straight black and navy blue. I walked around the aisles for a minute until I finally decided to ask someone for assistance. Tina walked with me to the correct aisle half of which was dedicated to nothin but dye and other colorants. Unfortunately it appeared that they were sold out of the navy blue, and I grabbed the last of the black Rit dye and headed to the checkout. Their prices seemed reasonable considering how expensive everything else in the world has become. Interestingly they already have Christmas trees and a whole separate aside dedicated to Christmas decorations already setup. I love Michael's but this location lacks customer service. I had to ask one of the ladies behind the register if she could help me ring up my purchase. She had ignored me standing in line for 10 minutes while the other cashier was processing a return. Her response was "Oh, I thought you were paying cash". How ridiculous! Why wouldn't she ask instead of ignoring me? I am a patient customer because I've been in the service industry but to ignore someone for an unnecessarily extended time is not indicative of a store who values their customer. I came to this page to see, if my feelings are the same as others. I was shocked! I do a lot of fine arts work. I have projects on my wall... the size of the wall! I inquired how to get a new item framed. The guy automatically said this could easily be $150 or more with labor ( I do not have a low hanging budget). He didn't even try to see if he can get some business from me! I have seen this low quality behavior before... I simply left! I will not trust this company with my art work or projects! 12/11/21 The bathrooms were nasty and foul smelling like Gargamel. Please clean this bathroom. The woman's bathroom was no picnic either, according to my wife. The original Smurfette would be disgusted . Aside from the bathroom experience, the store was pretty organized. Finding an associate for assistance wasn't difficult at all. My wife found the reading glasses she need with the help of an associate I spotted. Turns out we were very close to where the read glasses were, but didn't seem them. The long line for the check out counters moved like fast and furious. Dominic Toretto would be proud. These positive experiences give this overall review three stars instead of the two I had in mind. read more

This place is like a drug den for a craft junkie. If I don't have a shopping list & limit my time in the store, I could walk out with a trunk load of items. The store isn't limited to but includes supplies for scrapbooking, crocheting & knitting, painting, floral arranging, jewelry & beading and so much more. This store is in a strip mall with lots of retail and restaurant choices. There is a store app that you can load on your phone for weekly or monthly coupons. It lets you know about specials. I only put the app on my phone when I am in the store because I start having *scrapbooking seizures (*not really) and I begin justifying purchases because there are so many sales. I suggest planning your project before you go in the store. If you have patience, you can collect the more expensive items with the 40 or 50 % off coupons. Read the fine print. Some coupons are only valid on non-sale items. The sales rotate. I like the miracle clearance items that I find from time to time. I would only get a picture framed when it is on sale. They are periodically 50 % off. You can sign up for emails that give you advance notice of sales. I had to unsubscribe because I could not find a craft sober sponsor. I cannot stop any time I want. Do not take your artwork to Michaels for custom framing! They "lost" my antique 1840s Japanese art work and then lied to me about it. Furthermore, as part of their terms for re-paying me for the artwork they lost, they want me to promise never to write any negative social media reviews about what happened. Well, I've refused to sign their agreement and I want to share my story with you so you can avoid having Michaels lose your artwork as well. On January 19, 2019 I took four pieces of artwork to the Michaels Store #1346 for custom framing. The artwork was supposed to be done on February 2, 2019. On February 3, 2019 I called the Michaels store and asked if my artwork was ready. I was told by the custom framing employee that only one of my four pieces was ready to be picked up because they were behind on the other three pieces due to the recent holidays and a sales promotion. I asked when the remaining pieces would be ready for pickup, but the employee said she didn't know how long it would take to complete my art work and was unable to provide an estimated completion date. On March 9, 2019, almost five weeks later, I had still not heard anything from Michaels, so I called again to inquire as to the status of my art work. After a lot of hemming and hawing, the lead custom framing employee came on the line to tell me that Michaels had "misplaced" my three pieces of art, and could not locate them at this time. She also told me that she had no idea what had happened to them - she could not say if they were stolen, thrown out, or misplaced. As a result of Michaels' extreme negligence, I believe my artwork was either stolen or negligently placed into the garbage in January, and that I was lied to when I called in February to inquire about my art work and was told it wasn't ready because they were behind schedule. In reality, Michaels had already lost my art work and did not want to admit this to me. It appears Michaels hoped I would either forget about my art work completely, or, by some miracle, they would locate the missing art work before I called back again. The fact that Michaels custom framing not only failed to inform me of the loss of the artwork once reasonable efforts had been taken to locate it, but also lied to me about the status of my artwork, is terrible customer service, and reflects extremely poor business judgement and personal character on behalf of the management at Michaels Store #1346. read more

There is a great section of $1 and $2 items by the register, and a good selection of baking items (the only thing I really know anything about). Have not been to a Michaels in a very long time, so was surprised to be able to find some home decor things and all on sale when I went. That was neat because that was exactly what I was looking for. Don't stop to get coffee before shopping at this location! I have been shopping at this Michaels for years and I occasionally need to use the restroom while shopping, as most humans do. It wasn't the cleanest bathroom but it had what you needed to get the job done. However, I was there this morning and was told the bathroom is no longer for customers. I wasn't able to finish shopping without using the bathroom so I put my items back on the shelf and left. Not sure I will come back to this location. read more

I called in to the Alexandria location to confirm whether or not they had any Halloween piñatas left. A worker said that they did but that it was a limited supply. I put my kids in the car and drove there. When we arrived, the store manager happened to be working near the front of the store, and I asked her where the piñatas were. She told me that they didn't have any; I explained that I had just spoken on the phone to one of her workers who told me that they did. She laughed and told me in a condescending manner that I had the wrong store and that she would know as a woraker would have confirmed with her. I showed her the call on my phone and asked her if that was her store's number. She didn't respond but just left with me and my kids to follow her as she visually scanned their Halloween area and then she told me, "Nope, no piñatas here." No apology or acknowledgement of what had happened. Just really condescending customer service treatment - and in front of my kids too. So disappointing. I'm totally turned off from shopping at Michael's. read more

This is a big store, much bigger than it looks from the street, and it has a good selection in many areas. They have reasonable prices, and they often have sales, so check online for coupons before you go. For people who like to paint, they have a good assortment of canvas sizes and lots of types of paint. My only criticism is that a lot of their merchandise is made in China, so sometimes I've had to leave empty-handed. read more

Placed a same day delivery order. Received a call from instacart telling me that they were there to pick up my order but was informed by an employee there that I had already picked it up. I had not. Instacart cancelled the order since they claimed it was picked up. I called the store 11 times and someone kept picking up the phone and hanging up on me. Let me be clear there was not an issue with the phone. I heard people talking in the background and the phone hang up. Old school click!!! The 12th time a man picked up the phone and said, "we are f'ing closed" Ha! well that is it for me with Michael's. They better run me my coins and leave me alone. I filed a complaint and will see what happens. I was told someone would call me back on the 1800# and nobody ever did. I also got an email at 6:03 telling me they contacted the store manager and he said the order is still there and someone would would contact me. If my son had not been with me the Jerk that kept hanging up on me would have seen me in person!! It is now 9:08 and nobody contacted me. Called customer service to request a refund. They said they had to contact the supervisor to request it. I got an email letting me know that due to limited supplies my order was cancelled. Last month I was in to buy class supplies for the students. In the canvas section, someone or something stabbed holes into the canvas. Clear as day. Ruined the canvas. Couple days ago, I go to restock for next class and the SAME canvases with holes in them are still there and no one seems to have cared to replace or stock more. Are you kidding me? No sign to say they offer a discount. No care in how this aisle looks. Like Michael Myers ran out of targets and cried over his sister in this art store. First time at this store and had a horrible experience: I got 6 items but when I got home, there was only 3 items in the bag. I called the store and the salesgirl said I left another bag! This place deserves no stars to be honest. I went there to get my degree framed and no one was willing to assist me, even though they were EXTREMELY slow during my visit. Meg was an absolute nightmare as her customer service is straight up trash. She ignored me and walked past me as I was politely asking for her assistance, then gave me a dirty look and just pointed at the back room where the rest of her co-workers were. Adam I believe was very informative and helpful, so I would like to thank him for that. However, due to the first impression that I have had, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Now I have to make a second trip to pick up the other. If they had good customer service, they would have offered to mail the second one instead of having me drive another hour there and back. Eek! Methinks not. No, ​ma'am. Where do I do begin? For starters, the temperature in the store was horrible. One second I was freezing (could be because it was cold out) and the next I were sweating. Dripping really. That's manageable​ though; what happened next was not OKAY. I came with to Michaels hoping to find DNA stickers. THERE WERE NONE!!!!!!! To top it off, they had St. Patricks Day decor out. IT'S STILL FEBRUARY!!!! Who does that!? I felt I was in AC MOORE!!!! THEN... I couldn't find a SINGLE salesperson to help me out. I was just trying to find a pack of regular #2 pencils and they were NOWHERE to be found. I circled around the store (LIKE AN IDIOT) 4 times and could not find someone to help. I decided, "whatever I'll ask the cashier" WRONG CHOICE!!!! There were​ a ridiculously long line and 2 cashiers. ANd they were standing at the end of the line so I had to walk extra far!!!!!!!
