Upon entering the store, it could make almost any kid and kid-at-heart burst with excitement. This variety shop has almost everything you might be looking for, such as: party supplies, gifting supplies, presents for gifting, crafting goods, fabric, household essentials, kitchen/baking things, and seasonal decor. There are aisles of unique, cool and quirky gadgets and gizmos a plenty. There are toys that are nostalgically vintage that you wouldn't find in regular stores; an aisle with buckets of candy where you can pick and choose individual pieces; and sales associates that are not only courteous and personable, but they are aquatinted with their regular patrons. Their parking lot pretty much reflects the size of the shopping center--smaller than average but never crowded or full. It's handicapped accessible, however, you may need someone to manually open the two double doors to get inside. The restroom is towards the back of the shop and may be a little cramped. The Hollin Hall Variety Store is the neighborhood five-and-dime and I'm so glad that such a place exists. This is the place to find items you wouldn't usually see in other Dollar Tree stores. I found a selection of pantyhose & tights. I got an Elle brand for $1.25. I , also, found purse size sanitizer spray in Apple scent - very fragrant & cheaper than a fraction of the price of other stores at $1.25. They were in the middle of stocking Christmas items and some products were not priced. I selected premium Christmas wrapping paper that was more than 50% less or more than drugstore or Walmart prices - not realizing they were $3 each. They had cheaper gift wrapping paper for $1.50. I wish I still had gotten the hello kitty gift wrapper for $1.50. Items that were usually priced $1.25 like calendars & calendar journals were $1.50. My favorite finds of the day there were Marie Claire beauty product: brow liner (excellent in use & lower priced than higher end brands), two calendars together for $1.50, premium Christmas wrapping & tape, and double tape. Staff were busy yet I found one helpful person, who helped me find an item. Overall, I liked this Dollar Tree.

Otherwise, we can find organic fruit, quality meat and scrumptious baked goods and a great selection of vino. The plant department definitely deserves praise, from gorgeous hydrangeas to potted plants you can place on your doorstep over each season brings a smile.

I came to pick up a few bags of my new favorite vegan gummy bears and ended up leaving with half the store. We'll have the snack section anyway. I love international snack foods and shopping here beats hauling all of these delicious treats through customs in my carry-on... Plus the staff are nicer. Not only did they have the gummy bears I wanted, but they had different flavor varieties of my favorite Swedish fish candy (Not the Swedish Fish that you can get from any grocery store or drugstore... But the actual fish shaped gummy candy that's made in Sweden. Way different flavor. Way better!). Had to grab those. They also sold different boxes from Universal Yums (One of my favorite international snack food subscription boxes)! You know I had to grab one of those. Since it's the start of charcuterie-in-the-sunshine season (my favorite time of year), I picked up a few things to make a lovely gift basket for a friend: An assortment of prosecco splits, and different bags of mini snacks and nibbles including smoked cheese, olives, garlic bread flavored bruschetta, and Bourbon infused pecans. Although I'm a member of the rewards program, I wasn't aware of any of the coupons or promotions available outside of the Clearance signs that I saw in the store. She was telling me about them as she was ringing me up, and she walked me through how to access them from my phone. I ended up saving 15% on my purchase, getting $10 back in rewards, and even getting a free gift. She did not have to take the extra time to walk me through it, or even tell me about it, but I'm so grateful that she did. I Love this store so much. I had such a great time here and I can't wait to come back to spend my rewards cash!
