It' was that time of year to get my eyes checked. It's been awhile since my eyes been checked because it was hard to find someone who took my insurance. Ever since my old optometrist retired I was in the hunt for a new optometrist. Booking the appointment was easy but far out in a way which is understandable. Me being a new patient and all takes time to have a time slot for the type of appointment. I was greeted right away and given paperwork to fill out and gave the receptionist my insurance card and ID. I was called right after and was taken to the back for pre-testing. This office is cool because yea it was a lil old school technology but pretty cool equipment to take measurements of your eyesight. Right after I was seen by the doctor who was really nice and helpful with any questions I might have. I was able to pick out my new glasses and picked up my new glasses with a month (my prescription is high so it takes longer to make). I definitely think I found my permanent optometrist! read more

My entire family has been coming here for over 10 years. This is the only provider that was able to help me get contacts after seeing several specialist. I am very grateful. I would always get a different prescription from different doctors that only caused me headaches. Dr. Sutton took the time to figure my prescription out and ever since the first visit he is always able to make it work. My dad struggled with his prescription as well. After seeing several doctors I referred him here and he is now very happy. I was shocked to see negative reviews, but I realized they were old. Customer service here is wonderful. They always take the time to help and what I think is amazing is how they always remember all of us individually. Amazing team! read more

Been bringing my kids here for years. However when I called today the receptionist said that with medi cal my child could only be seen every 2 years. Which I know. Last seen Feb/2022. Well it's 2024 October. Then proceeded to tell me that they don't see medical patients till maybe mid December?? Guess she didn't want to check calendar to see openings. Very disappointing. Even if you live outside of the East County area, it would be advisable to see Dr. Sutton. The office staff was very professional and the doctor was very thorough. He offered me multiple treatment options. He gave me whatever amount of time necessary and listened to all of my concerns. He cares about his patients. This was not our experience at other optometry offices that have multiple locations, where we often found doctors with not very much experience. Dr. Sutton's experience was obvious. The optic area was very comfortable and there was no pressure and everything was explained very clearly. read more

The receptionist is so clueless she couldn't get my name right repeatedly or my date of birth. She also said that they didn't take my insurance when they had before. I don't believe she understood what my insurance actually was. So I finally asked that someone else call me back but she gave her the wrong name, Hillary, to call back so she didn't even listen but hung up on me. The place is a zoo. I like the doctor but his office staff is nuts so it's impossible to get anything done there including just getting a pair of glasses after the exam is done! They also almost never pick up the phone or return phone calls even within a few days. I would suggest you pass them by if you don't want to get trapped in this mire as I am since they now have my prescription. read more

They close at 4:20pm not 5pm like the door or google says. Went at 4:25pm and the office was already closed after I had gotten off the phone with someone asking what time they close 15 minutes prior. read more

Well well, ever been to a place and upon first impressions and think. Ok,This place can work then feel flamboozadled. I kinda get that feeling here, it that "oh well not my problem, vibe". I came in because I needed to get and eye exam and new glasses. As of today, 3 weeks later, still no glasses. I call to see about getting a copy of my perscription and never get a call back. So, 2 hrs later I decide to just go there and get a copy. After getting my copy, I asked "can you check to see if my glasses have come in". Young lady goes to check and says "no, there still not here yet". Humm, but you sure took my payment 3 weeks ago. No, let me call and check, Nada..! We shouldn't have to pay until the product come in. Why so long you ask? I guarantee the excuse in labs are backed up due to COVID 19. That should be more of a reason for your office to be on top of the orders.Well, I for sure will not be recommending this office or coming back here for any further care. UPDATE July 23rd. So I had I meeting this morning and my wife decided to call and check on the status of my glasses order. She is told, " the glasses didn't pass final inspection and won't be done until next Thursday July 30th" making this a whole month from order date til delivery. My wife conveys all this to me after my meeting. So, I can and get told the same thing. Get this though, if my wife didn't ask them to call the lab and find out what's the hold up, they would have just left it at that. No checking on the status at all themselves. The store manager say, things are taking a bit longer with the COVID pandemic, ok...! I'm starting to feel like the Geico commercial with the "Rat" group problem singing, "Round and Round". I'll do you one even better. After I got my perscription on Tuesday. I went to the Warby Parker site and order a pair with everything this pair has for less money and it guaranteed to be here by next Friday. Aren't they dealing with the same pandemic everyone else is....??? Scratching my head. I ask for a refund or even a discount for my time or something since I have a pair coming that I'm gonna get in a descent amount of time. I get told she has to ask the owner and will get back to me by the end of business today.. "Lies", but we will see. I'm done with this place. I now have smoke inhalation due to all the smoke being blown up my assets. Don't understand why people can't do the right thing, Take you chances here if you want.. That is all....... read more

I felt very disappointed about the front desk lady. She did not want to help me to adjust my glasses. She wanted me to go away. I tried to adjust myself and asked her for more help. The lady with eyes flash extension and high heels made me unhappy about the service. I do not want to blame it all. But I run into her twice and service was not friendly and it seems like she doesn't care I'm a regular customer. I hope the doctor can train some ladies in front desk about customer service. read more

this eye doctor is a weirdo! he made really inappropriate comments to my daughter and then tried to tell my insurance wouldn't cover the exam knowing it would and tried to have me pay out of pocket. this guy is horrible and i do not recommend anyone to him! read more

I have been coming here since it was Dr. Mills office and since Dr. Sutton was added I have been nothing but overly satisfied with my care. He is very friendly and answers any questions you might have. As far as staff they are amazing and extremely friendly! My husband, step son and myself all go here and every time we go they are always friendly, helpful, and extremely professional. I came in for an exam and glasses fitting and had a great experience. It was my first time, I filled out about two sheets and got called in rather quickly. The tech did the testing and then I saw the doctor for my exam and fitting. Dr. Sutton was really nice and is just a very jovial person, so definitely always refreshing to see someone who loves what they do!! read more

My husband and I have been patients of this practice since the mid 1980s when I was referred by a acquaintance -- a mom at my daughter's elementary school. At the time, Dr. Mill (not Mills like so many reviewers have mistakenly called him) was the only doctor in the office. As he grew closer to retirement, he brought on Dr. Sutton and we've been quite pleased. The only issue in all these years was a pair of progressive lenses that made me hold reading material straight out in front of me rather than in my lap or on a desk. They were replaced with minimal hassle. The staff has, over the years, also been changed of course. There were a few staff members I did not care for particularly because I felt they were unprofessional but I think these days nearly all office staff is too casual in their dealings with patients and clients. I'm of a generation where ma'am and sir are expected and one should be addressed as Mr. or Mrs. not by their given name. That said however, these are no reasons to rate a business poorly. I will remain a patient here as long as we remain in Pittsburg, which, hopefully will not be much longer, as we plan to retire to a quiet community. read more
