I called to get a rough idea of what Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 glasses would cost me with insurance. Simple question. On my first call, the receptionist put me on hold to "check" whether they had them in stock. After about three minutes of waiting, she hung up on me. No callback. So I called a second time. This time I was told the frames are $899, that insurance would only cover the lenses and not the frames, and that she couldn't tell me what my out-of-pocket cost would be unless I came in person. She was happy to take my insurance info over the phone, but apparently couldn't use it to give me an estimate. That makes no sense to me. Between getting hung up on and being brushed off on the second call, the front desk left a bad impression. I can't comment on the doctor since I never got that far, but based on how the staff treats people on the phone, I'm not sure why anyone would choose this location. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. -- Thanks for responding. A couple of things for anyone reading this: After those calls, I went to a local optical shop and bought the Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 there. The frames were $499, not the $899 I was quoted, and my insurance applied a discount to the frames as well as the lenses. That's the opposite of what I was told on the phone. As for the staff, I'm not the only one who's felt this way. Reading through your Yelp reviews, I found about 10 others describing the front desk as rude. That points to a pattern, not a single miscommunication. I appreciate the explanation, but it doesn't change how I was treated on those calls.

    Nice waiting area

I've been wearing glasses or contacts since I was in grade school and have visited countless optometry offices in different towns I've lived in. Delta Vista has been the easiest, most efficient experience I've had getting my annual eye exam. Their staff is knowledgeable and they have a dialed in process from check in to purchasing glasses or contacts. They work with you to maximize your insurance benefits and any manufacturer rebates. Very friendly staff and a modern, comfortable space. Easy and free downtown parking also helps. Wouldn't go anywhere else as long as I'm in Brentwood for my annual eye exam.

Designer frames abound at Delta Vista Optometry.

The first time that I saw my Mom with her new glasses I was taken aback because in all of my years I had never before seen her with glasses that were the perfect size and shape for her head and face. Not only were they perfectly fitted to her face and head, they were stylish and they complimented her face beautifully. She's a petite woman, and it always looked to me like her glasses were made for someone of larger stature, so whoever helped her select her glasses actually took the time to get her into the right size as well as the right shape of glasses for her, and this was the first time since she started wearing glasses that this has happened! So of course I had to see this place for myself. The folks who work the front desk are the sweetest and most professional group of people. We were treated with genuine care, dignity, and kindness with all of our interactions. We saw Dr Scott Sakata. From beginning to end he was informative, attentive, and he patiently listened and thoroughly answered our questions. He even explained the same things in different ways and slowed down for my Mom, and this made her feel heard and understood. I also liked the fact that he didn't press her towards any interventions, instead, he gave her the realistic scenario for her sight situation and what I found to be a compassionate approach for her going forward. I had come in a bit vigilant about how they might charge for services because of other reviews I had read, but I found the pricing to be clearly explained to us. I think it's a matter of communication, really, and we had no troubles in that area with Delta Vista Optometry, in fact, they wanted us to understand everything. This is a well established Optometry office that uses advanced analysis as well as the most current tools to help the community see better. They offer a broad variety of glasses frames to choose from and there's something for every price point. They even have a nice selection for children! The ambiance is serene and stylish, and they even have designer frames! Most importantly, I trust them with my Mom. Check it out.

When we switched to Dr. Bronge, what a fresh air! Dr. Bronge is very personable, and professional. He explains very well with 'human-understandable' terms and listens. I first got some updated prescription for driving; then I got eye allergy treatment in year 2 with great satisfaction. I referred my German husband to Dr. Bronge. He is totally happy with the Doc with his stringent standards. Next, i'll refer my daughter to go as well. Thank you, Dr. Bronge. BTW, office clerks are very friendly and efficient too.

I scheduled an 8:30 AM appointment for my 7-year-old son through Brentwood Eyecare's own online…read morescheduling system on Saturday. The system offered 8:30 or 9:00. I specifically chose 8:30 because he is in school, which starts at 8:20, and I wanted him to miss as little class as possible. At 8:20 AM -- only 10 minutes before our appointment -- I received a text from an unidentified number saying, "good morning we received your appointment please come @ 9am." They didn't even identify themselves, so I had to ask who was texting me before they told me it was Brentwood Eyecare. At 8:21 I explicitly responded, "Our appt is at 8:30. It's for a child in school. We are already on our way. We will be there at 8:30." They replied that they had no doctor until 9:00. When I questioned why their system offered an 8:30 appointment, they responded, "not sure why our system let you make an appointment im so sorry." I told them that since their system scheduled an 8:30 patient, I felt contacting the doctor rather than changing a patient's appointment 10 minutes beforehand would be the appropriate solution. We arrived around 8:25. I was already uncomfortable with how this was being handled, so I sat in the parking lot calling other optometry offices hoping someone could see my son that morning. No one could. Around 8:35, we went inside to wait and look at frames. At 8:36 -- 15 minutes AFTER I explicitly told them we were coming -- they texted, "Would you like us to change this appointment to 9:00 or reschedule. We need to give the doctor notice." I called because I genuinely did not understand what additional "notice" they needed when I had already said in writing that we were coming. The employee was immediately argumentative and insisted I had not told them whether we were coming, despite the text stating exactly that. As I entered the office, I ended the call and addressed the situation in person. My son and I then went to look at frames while we waited. The employee I had spoken with began making comments about the situation to her coworker from across the office, saying she would now text the doctor since I was there while continuing to complain that I had not given notice. I told her that if she had something to say while I was standing right there, she could speak directly to me, and again pointed out that I had given notice in writing. Both employees then began talking over me. I raised my voice trying to get a word in and was told I was being "hostile" and that "it's Monday morning." Being Monday morning does not excuse poor customer service. Their own system offered and confirmed an appointment when apparently no doctor was available. Their employee had already acknowledged IN WRITING that she didn't know why their system allowed it. Eventually, I was told they would not see my son and could reschedule him. I made it clear I would not be returning after the way the situation had been handled. What happened as we left is what I find completely unacceptable. The employee stood up and sarcastically said DIRECTLY TO MY 7-YEAR-OLD, "I'm soooo sorry, child's name, we can't help you today because of your mom's behavior." Whatever disagreement you have with a parent stays between the adults. You do not involve a 7-year-old or blame his mother TO HIM for why he isn't receiving care. He was there because he was having difficulty seeing and his glasses were broken. He had done absolutely nothing wrong. For transparency, after she directed that comment at my child, I became extremely angry, used profanity, and slammed the door when I left. I could have handled my exit better and I take responsibility for that. However, that occurred at the END of the interaction, after their scheduling error, arguing, discussing me across the office, repeatedly claiming I hadn't given notice despite written proof, and finally involving my child. Afterward, I read other reviews and unfortunately my experience with the front desk does not appear isolated. Multiple reviews describe similar issues with receptionist attitude, rude/dismissive interactions, and poor customer service. This appears to be a recurring issue rather than simply someone having a bad Monday morning. Thankfully, Oakley Optometry on Laurel was able to get my son in that morning. The difference was night and day. Everyone there was professional, accommodating, kind, and incredibly sweet to him. It's farther from us, but 100% worth the drive. I absolutely would not recommend Brentwood Eyecare. A scheduling mistake can happen. How you treat people while resolving it -- and especially how you treat a 7-year-old child -- is a choice.

These are just the people I got to meet during the process, so a shout out also to everyone I didn't get to meet who at every moment throughout silently reassured us that our mum's eyes were in good hands. In addition to the experience with the doctors and staff, the ambiance of the offices were great, with music, snacks coffee, and air conditioning to keep us cool and comfortable while we waited, and a slew of patient testimonials that each rung true and were diverse in background and need. And I would be remiss and incomplete if I didn't say a little word about how easy and fun the post-op process was. I say fun because mum definitely did her best Big Lebowski impression the rest of the day following her operation with her brightness reducing glasses which reminded me of those old HD wraparounds from the tv ads. There was also a weekend at Bernie's reference made while she slept and rested, only in jest of course. To sum it up, this process was tier one, and an eye-opening (I couldn't resist...) masterclass in how a medical office should treat its patients. 10/10 wholeheartedly endorse for anyone considering mending their eyesight.

I am very grateful for the skill, care, and professionalism both doctors provided, and I would highly recommend Dr. Parikh and Dr. Nguyen to anyone considering EVO ICL.

I don't write many reviews, but I felt Dr. Parikh and the team at Furlong Vision deserved one…read more I had ICL surgery about a week ago, and the results have honestly been incredible. Before surgery, my prescription was around -10.00, and even with contacts I struggled to read text on my phone at night. I often needed both contacts and reading glasses just to have a chance. Less than a week after surgery, I'm seeing around 20/25 and can comfortably read even fine print. The procedure itself was completely painless, and the recovery has been far easier than I expected. As amazing as the results are, the real reason I'm writing this review is because of Dr. Parikh. Two days before my scheduled surgery, he noticed something abnormal during my pre-op exam. Instead of proceeding, he refused to do the surgery until I had my eye evaluated by a retinal specialist. Obviously, I was disappointed because I had been looking forward to finally getting the procedure, but he put my safety first without hesitation. I asked if there was any way to get in quickly, and he immediately started texting people in his network from his phone. By the next morning, one of his colleagues, Dr. Silva, was able to see me. It turned out I had a torn retina that needed to be repaired before ICL surgery. After the retina was treated, Dr. Parikh and Dr. Silva stayed in communication directly with each other over the following weeks. I didn't have to coordinate anything--they handled it all. Once Dr. Silva confirmed my retina had healed, Dr. Parikh rescheduled my procedure. To me, that's what separates a great doctor from a good one. Dr. Parikh wasn't focused on getting me into surgery as quickly as possible--he was focused on doing what was best for me. He even made himself personally available by text throughout the process, which gave me a tremendous amount of confidence. The entire staff at Furlong Vision was outstanding from start to finish--friendly, professional, and incredibly organized--but Dr. Parikh's level of care genuinely went above and beyond. I couldn't recommend Furlong Vision more highly. If you're considering vision correction, you'll be in excellent hands.

I'll admit, I was skeptical when they told me the consultation would take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I remember thinking, "What's the point? They're going to tell me I'm a candidate, do the procedure, and take my money." Nope. After about an hour of testing, they told me they **didn't recommend that I have the procedure**. That immediately told me everything I needed to know about this practice. They took the time to explain exactly why. They even identified a slight astigmatism that my regular eye doctor had never caught, although that wasn't the reason they advised against treatment. They explained that at some point in my life I'll most likely need cataract surgery, and when that time comes, I may be able to address everything with a custom lens replacement instead. For now, my natural lenses are still working to some degree, and even though my vision isn't ideal, they felt that replacing them today simply **wouldn't be in my best interest**. They could have easily recommended a procedure and taken my money. Instead, they told me to keep wearing my glasses, come back in a few years, and see where things stand as the technology continues to evolve. I was incredibly impressed with the entire staff and the way they handled my consultation. There was no pressure and no attempt to sell me something I didn't need. Just a thoughtful recommendation based on what was actually best for me. **This is the true definition of patient care -- even though I'm technically not a patient...yet.** When the time comes, I know exactly where I'll be going.

I first met Dr. Gary Kawesch of the Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley - San Jose in the mid-1990s,…read morewhen his office was located on Stevens Creek Boulevard. At the time, I simply wanted better vision and decided to undergo LASIK vision correction on both eyes. Nearly 30 years later, I deeply regret my decision to have the procedures performed there. I researched LASIK itself, but being young at the time, I did not do nearly enough research into the doctor performing the surgery. I wish I had. At the time Dr. Kawesch was fresh in business and not nearly enough experience as he should. I experienced serious complications involving my left eye. During treatment for those complications, the corneal flap was removed and, according to what I was subsequently told and understood about my case, was sutured back in the wrong orientation. I later developed significant epithelial ingrowth and substantial corneal scarring. The effects have followed me for decades. My vision today is considerably worse than it was when I originally sought LASIK simply because I wanted to see better, and the damage and scarring in my left eye continue to affect me. If I was to lose the sight in my right eye I would be legally blind because of the damage the doctor caused me. Looking back after all these years, this remains one of the decisions I regret most. My advice to anyone considering elective eye surgery is to thoroughly research not only the procedure, but also the individual surgeon, their history, experience, and potential complications. Your eyesight is simply too important.

I have been seeing Dr. Severin for the last 4 years for a glaucoma suspect diagnosis. Dr. Severin…read morehas been a wonderful glaucoma specialist for me. I followed up with him every 4-6 months in San Ramon office. I give him a 5-star for his care, friendliness and expertise. A zero star for the front desk and scheduler staff. Awful customer service. It was very difficult to get an appointment as a new patient at that time but I patiently waited because of Dr. Severin's reputation. If it's not because of Dr. Severin I won't choose this office. The receptionist and schedulers were racist and very rude. They were full of attitudes and not helpful at all. There were always at least 3-4 staff sitting at the front desk/schedule desk but they never pick up the phone! Try calling them if you don't believe me. Last year, an elderly receptionist bluntly lied and told me Dr. Severin was not in the office and they assigned me another doctor without any notification/heads-up. While sitting in the waiting room I heard Dr. Severin's voice and asked the assistant about it. She told me yes, that was him. I was very upset to be told lies!! The assistant was very nice and apologized. I told her I needed to know the reason why I was told a lie. Very unprofessional! She said an office manager wasn't there and asked me if I wanted a follow-up. I said yes and NOBODY ever called back!! Obviously they didn't give a shit of my concern! My last visit this week, after finishing up seeing Dr. Severin one of the girls (short hair, young) rolled her eyes when I asked "when is the latest time to schedule a follow up appointment?" She looked so annoyed and unbothered with my very simple question. That kind of attitude was not tolerable! I didn't see her treated Caucasian patients like that. Well, now that Dr. Severin is retiring then this office has no value for me to continue my eye care. I will find another glaucoma specialist who has decent, helpful and friendly staff. It's sad to experience all this mistreatment from a well-known Glaucoma specialist office in East Bay. Very very unfortunate!

She did a comprehensive examination, explained the process fully and clearly and scheduled the procedure at the San Ramon Medical Center. Her staff were so nice and very professional. Everyone did their job and it went smoothly. She did one eye at a time within a two-week period and now I have perfect vision. I would highly recommend East Bay Eye Center and Dr. Edell to anyone wanting excellent professional eye care. https://www.severinmd.com/aimee-edell-md

The side effects will last my entire life, although once I relapse, the disease caused by potent antibiotic will kill me. Office manager, I don't want to receive another call from you asking me to remove my post, understand??? It is called freedom of speech. Also, $80 refund is not going to cover months of pain and suffering and medical expenses. The office manager tells me, well, you are in remission. So what, the disease can come back next time I take antibiotics, I will either have to suffer for months again or it will kill me. I posted negative comments couple of months ago, the office manager calls me at 8:30 a.m. next day asking me to remove it which I did.
