I ordered some beautiful Ray-Ban frames with progressive lenses there. The progressive lenses required an adjustment for long distance and the frame was defective. 5 stars for the doctors 1 star for the reception staff I made an appointment as a first time patient for contact lens refills. I was running out and explained I needed an appt for contacts. I waited for 3 long weeks to get an appointment. I show up and they do an eye exam, measure me for eyeglasses. Then they checked me out. I explain I wanted to order contacts. The reception lady Sam said I needed to make another appointment for a contact lens fitting and that I would need to come back. I felt like 1. This didn't hear or listen what or why I made an appt, 2. They fitted me for eyeglasses when I told them I didn't need them 3. I had to come back for a second date for the lens fitting. The doctors were caring, took the time to explain my vision. The reception staff felt robotic and cold. read more

This Christmas Eve 2023 My eyes were in alot of pain. I was disparate to reach the office so that I can get the next appt they had after returning back from the Holidays. I decided to send a text so I could get in asap. Not expecting a response during the holidays I received a text back from Dr. Winson Ong asking questions about my issues with my eyes. He then proceeded to say lets see you tomorrow morning which was Christmas Eve. I was surprised and thankful that he was willing to see me. The next morning i arrived to my appt. He examined my eyes and advised me of what was going on. Prescribed me meds for relief for clogged tear ducts which is very painful as i ingnored the issue for quite sometime. Dr. Ong was very professional, such a nice guy and caring. I have decided to go with the treatment he recommened. We started the 1st of 4 treatments today. We have been coming here (since the old location) for almost 15 years! Dr. Ong is hands down one of the best Optometrist around! He takes his time with the exam addressing all of our concerns. We feel like we've been friends forever and catch up every year come exam time. You know he's good when we still come here after we've moved from Brentwood to Walnut Creek. Their new location is modern with nice decor and top notch located in the same shopping center as In Shape. We always have a good experience here and the staff is friendly. Selection is great and you get 20% off of the remaining price of the frames that insurance does not cover. There is also a location in Antioch but we prefer the Brentwood one more. We are with Dr. Ong since he opened in Brentwood. He is an amazing listener, always smiles and is very patient. He seems to enjoy his work. His eye exams are very thorough, and his diagnosis for any of our eye or vision related problem is always right. My kids love to get their yearly eye exams just by Dr. Ong. He has all eye tests available for infants, toddlers and young kids. His office is always very nice and clean and equipped with all advance machines. His contact lens and eye glass selection is huge. We like follow all his advice which help us take care of all of our family member's eyes for so many years. read more

I went to this shop because it was conveniently located, so I was willing to pay more. I found a pair of glasses I liked within 2 minutes and indicated to the employee that I needed help with a purchase. There was 1 other person in the store, and I was told someone would be with me shortly. I sat down with my cell phone and a good book to wait. I actually got caught up in the book I was reading (it happens!) and I looked up nearly 30 min later to find the one customer was long gone but I still had not received so much as an acknowledgment. There was no one In the store except me and three employees who sat around chit chatting with each other while I was made to wait. I left. I'm really grateful I did not spend good money with this establishment. Took my business to their competitor and happily spent a ton of money on glasses and sunglasses. read more

Terrible Customer Service again! This is the second time someone noticed this issue! I had to call or email their customer service manager for my delayed frames. I know it's is delayed but when the time comes nearer to the date that' it is supposed to arrive e no one ever called update me. Payment has been done so i feel like I'm just a number for them. Dr. Ong examined my eyes two weeks ago, and I was impressed with how thorough his exam was. This was my first visit to see him. Dr. Ong seems to definitely know what he is doing, and is a friendly and knowledgeable professional. I waited until today to write my review, pending the arrival of my new glasses prescribed by Dr. Ong. After all, the end result of my exam should be a satisfactory prescription, right? I picked up my new glasses yesterday, and this prescription is PERFECT. Dr. Ong got my readings spot -on, and for once I have excellent clarity in my progressive lenses. This is about my 6th prescription with progressive lenses and I was never all that thrilled with the reading up close part. Thank you, Dr. Ong for the job done right the first time! Was great until it wasn't. I've gone to this practice for a very long time. Always had great service and never had a problem with my sight until this week. I Was able to get an appointment next day for sudden change in vision. Seen Dr. Ong, he did many tests, he would not diagnose my problem, was told I needed to go to a retinal specialist.....he said he would fax over report of findings. Meanwhile I called three times this week only to be told he is working on the report....still no report, no diagnosis, and hoping that Kaiser will get me into specialist. Dr. Ong called today, left a message stating he doesn't do reports, that he just calls and talks to my primary at Kaiser....how does that help me? My doctor does not take outside calls, I asked. not happy when things got bad for my vision. read more

This place has me so annoyed. I came to them thinking that I would have a better experience with them than their location in Antioch... Unfortunately, I was wrong. First, my daughter and I went to get our yearly vision checked up. I picked out the sunglasses and asked if they could be prescribed. The young lady was somewhat helpful however after 3 weeks my glasses needed to be sent back because the girl had put in the wrong tint order. Secondly, my daughter had been prescribed eye drops. Not ordinary eye drops they needed to be especially ordered and asked her to return days later for a follow-up. Well, the drops didn't come in until days later, Although she still arrived at her scheduled appt the staff charged her a co-pay of $20.00 just for the Optometrist to tell her to return back as the medicine needed more time. Today she told me she had the follow-up and said I hope I'm not charged $20.00 again. I said they shouldn't since it is due to the same issue basically a follow-up AGAIN! I called them and spoke to the Manager "Lenora"(I think) just so she can tell me it's not them who charge the visit its the insurance and she was not going to agree with me about the co-pay! I'm waiting to get my sunglasses and NEVER AGAIN! Worst experience. ooh and let's not mention they plan to pay me an additional $41.00 for my sunglasses. read more
